  12:20am
Therese:

  12:20am
issac from Tijuana:

from what i have heard Bruce wrote Hungry Heart for the Ramones but his manager didn't let him hand it over .. personally would love to hear a Ramones version of it
  12:21am
Marmalade Kitty:

Are you in mexico issac? :)
  12:24am
issac from Tijuana:

@Marmalade Kitty ... yep here in Tijuana, Baja California... the Happiest place on earth according to Krusty the Clown
  12:25am
issac from Tijuana:

@Marmalade Kitty ... where you at?
  12:25am
Marmalade Kitty:

  12:27am
Marmalade Kitty:

manchester uk.. city of rain
  12:30am
issac from Tijuana:

there's a lot of crazy shit here in Tijuana, but the "Donkey show" still falls under the urban legend category, in the near two years that I have been around here never knew anybody to have actually seen one, and i have seen pretty wild stuff here :P
  12:31am
a.:

so far this has been a great half-hour of music. then you had to go play a reagan speech and kill the mood.
  12:31am
Roger:

Nirvana would say "donkey show" between songs at concerts in 1990-1991 for some reason
  12:32am
issac from Tijuana:

one interesting fact is that the Cesar Salad was invented in a restaurant here in Tijuana ...
  12:32am
Marmalade Kitty:

bomb or bond
  12:33am
a.:

the chimichanga was invented in arizona, yet i keep seeing it on the menu of mexican restaurants.
  12:34am
issac from Tijuana:

haaa been a while since I have had a good Chimichanga you guys are giving me the munchies :P
  12:37am
Marmalade Kitty:

the Chimichanga must have been invented pre- 1912
  12:37am
a.:

why?
  12:38am
issac from Tijuana:

I guess that was the time when Arizona was still part of mexico ... am I wrong ?
  12:41am
a.:

I *think* Arizona was part of the territory lost to the US in the Mexican War. Or maybe it was taken from the Navajo during the Indian Wars, I'm not sure. But either of those happened in the 19th century so I dunno what the reference to 1912 is about. Pancho Villa, maybe?
  12:42am
issac from Tijuana:

one of the few good things of going back to school and withdrawing from society again, drinking less and partying less ... its that i get to spend more time with my record collection and WFMU :P
  12:42am
Jack:

Arizona Iced Tea is based in New York.
  12:43am
a.:

aw man, I was enjoying Frank & Nancy at 33 and 1/3. =(
  12:44am
Jack:

I think she slowed it down on purpose to buy some time to cue up the next record : )
  12:46am
Therese:

That will not be the last time I start a record at the wrong speed!
  12:47am
issac from Tijuana:

yes ...it was on the Indian Wars... Arizona was admitted to the US in Feb 14 1912 ....
  12:47am
a.:

Martinis were also a drink invented in New York. Long Island iced teas were invented in Long Island, New York, as well - by a bartender whose last name was Butts. Tuxedos were also invented in New York, but they are not a drink so far as I know.
  12:48am
Jack:

Just make sure Brimful of Asha is on 45.
  12:49am
Marmalade Kitty:

mexico lost *ceded* arizona to the US onion in 1912 at the end of the Mexican - American war..
  12:50am
Marmalade Kitty:

union *sorry* :)
  12:51am
a.:

but the Mexican War ended in like 1850, so why would they cede the land 60+ years later?
  12:52am
Marmalade Kitty:

US kept eating away!
  12:53am
a.:

filthy yankees!
  12:54am
issac from Tijuana:

Seasons in the sun has a very popular Norteño cover here in Mexico
  12:55am
Jack:

Ooh my sister and I had this 7"! The sweet but troublingly titled "Put the Bone In" on the flip side.
  12:55am
Therese:

The song is surprisingly adaptable.
  12:56am
mikey p:

play the b-side therese, i wanna hear "put the bone in" - i hope it's dirty!
  12:58am
a.:

Vivian Girls! Did they get a new drummer? Or did she just lose a lot of weight? (Wow, what a mean question.)
  12:59am
david:

billie joe and seasons in the sun have to be two of the best songs ever, no?
  12:59am
Marmalade Kitty:

  1:28am
Julie:

I do have a bunch of Madonna singles..ah my misspent youth
  1:28am
Therese:

Ha! A good portion of this is the station's. Though this Madonna single is all mine!
  1:29am
Marmalade Kitty:

Ciccone Youth is sonic youth?
  1:29am
Julie:

it's hard to go through those supertight drawers!
  1:30am
Jack:

Was basically Sonic Youth with Mike Watt
  1:31am
Therese:

Tell me about it! My hangnails now have hangnails.
  1:31am
Jack:

Now, if you had played "Like a Prayer" off the Immaculate Collection, it wouldn't have had the cool guitar intro. And I'm not ashamed to know that. OK, I am.
  1:32am
Therese:

Oh, and you're welcome, A! I love that Ciccone Youth record.
  1:32am
Marmalade Kitty:

I remember the cool guitar intro
  1:32am
Julie:

Yes! That's what happens! It's painful. Do I need to wear gloves?
  1:33am
Therese:

And Jack, in depth knowledge of Madonna's oeuvre is nothing to be ashamed of!
  1:34am
Jack:

Supertight drawers, Put the Bone In, 7-inches, do i need to wear gloves, knowledge of Madonna's "oeuvre"... this is the double-entendre-est messageboard ever!
  1:34am
Therese:

No gloves needed, Julie. I would bring some hand lotion though. It's rough on the cuticles!
  1:35am
Marmalade Kitty:

I can imagine pope John Paul secretly groovin to Madonna in his vatican quarters! How naughty!
  1:36am
Julie:

@Jack it's the late hours!
  1:38am
david:

WFMU is becoming more and more Satanic.
  1:40am
Julie:

what do you mean "Becoming"
  1:41am
david:

maybe it's just sneaking up on me :)
  1:41am
Julie:

I can no longer think of Ed Asner without him being the giant cockroach on Family Guy
  1:41am
Alysia:

what song are you playing in the background?
  1:44am
Jack:

I think Watt is only on the Burnin' Up track.
  1:48am
Roger:

The Houston Astros used to play at the Astrodome. They now play at Minute Maid Park (formerly known as Enron Field) So if it's a dome than yeah it's definitely the Astrodome
