Joe McG:

  12:13am
Sue:

Not much, just chillin. Having computer trouble actually but finally was able to get your show. Yay!
  12:17am
Joe McG:

Cool! Nice to see you again after so long!
  12:19am
Sue:

Yes, likewise! And enjoying your rockin' tunes as usual. Really dug the last two tracks and this current one.
  12:20am
Joe McG:

Thanks, Sue! Wow, I hope I don't start thinking it's 3 a.m...!
  12:23am
Sue:

Tee hee, ah, yes, memories... waking up at the crack of dawn with my favorite dj, not literally of course :P Wow, the Dishrags track was off of a casette? Seriously? Great quality, at least from over here.
  12:26am
cheri:

hiya joe,,,i like your show so far,,btw how do like this fine fall weather we're having??
  12:27am
Joe McG:

Hey, cheri. I'm not sure where you are, but unfortunately our fall wather lately has been too warm and humid for my taste. Maybe it will crisp up in the next week or so.
  12:27am
G:

Is this a version of this song from some point prior to when the Mag Fields album "i" became a no-synth collection?
  12:28am
Joe McG:

@G: Yes, it's the original single version. I think I sort of like the "i" version better, actually.
  12:30am
G:

I'm more used to the "i" version, but openminded. Thanks for spinning it. I've been pondering getting Obscurities...
  12:32am
Longtime Comment Reader:

I thought Cheri lived with Texas Scott. It's supposed to be 103 in Austin tomorrow. That could be crispy, but not autumn crisp.
  12:37am
Sue:

sweet, i'm gonna like this next segment
  12:37am
Joe McG:

Uch, Austin is still burning? I thought that it had burned up by now.
  12:46am
cheri:

  12:47am
Joe McG:

  12:48am
Longtime Comment Reader:

  12:50am
Joe McG:

@LCR: The only cutoffs I know about are the ones Daniel Blumin's wearing.
  12:51am
Sue:

Is Single File at around 1:30?
  12:52am
cheri:

  12:57am
Longtime Comment Reader:

  1:03am
cheri:

  1:08am
Longtime Comment Reader:

WHERE DO THE BOYS GO 03:55
WHERE DO THE BOYS GO (EXTENDED VERSION) 06:20
So I guess they had at least 4 or 5 hits.
  1:15am
Joe McG:

Hey, ?, thanks for the comprehensive list of Men Without Hats hits. Hats Hits.
  1:17am
(mta) Tony:

you're welcome, Joe. Love this new Creole! Hope to hear more.
  1:20am
Matt from Springfield:

Hello there Joe!

Hey mta Tony! I remember you typing in Styx song timings before. Did you look these up, or are you just great at remembering song times?
  1:20am
Joe McG:

Hey, Matt! What's up?
  1:21am
cheri:

  1:22am
Longtime Comment Reader:

omfg
  1:23am
Matt from Springfield:

I diggin' the dub, mon!
  1:27am
(mta) Tony:

Hi Matt, thanks for checking in with me in particular and your question. Before I answer, I'd like to say how flattered I am that you remembered that about me. You are correct. I have my huge music library information entered into a database program's multi-column table. With tens of thousands of entries, I simply search for the criteria I'm looking for, then it's a simple copy and paste of the results of my query. It only takes a few seconds for me to compile special lists. Thanks again for remembering. You can give me a challenge and see how long it takes me to produce a list. Thanks for the space, Joe, and the tunes.
  1:27am
Sue:

omg, sarah vaughan with clifford brown!! i have this!! woo hoo!
  1:28am
Matt from Springfield:

Ahhhhh, Sarah Vaughan! I was wondering if that was Ms. Vaughan or Ms. Horne---either way, heavenly!
  1:31am
Matt from Springfield:

@Tony: So you would have all those songs in your own music library? Or, you just have the info for a whole bunch of songs in your database? Though databasing what you have is a GREAT way to alert others about song info. I was able to give a great history of the "Theme from M*A*S*H" because I had tagged it on my audio file when I noticed Joe was playing it on the show!
  1:37am
c:

joe i take it that you're not going play the other rem tune?
  1:38am
Joe McG:

@c: Nope, sorry!
  1:42am
Matt from Springfield:

"90 Day Freeze"? Is that a play on some kind of legal/financial term? Anyone hear of that before?
  1:44am
(mta) Tony:

Yes Matt, just the info. The discs just sit on the shelf. Yes, you're right again, I can make simple lists pretty quickly. One of the best parts of my information library is that every song indicates its actual playing time, and is sortable by Artist, Album, Song, time, etc.
  1:45am
G:

This is the group from Detroit that did the big single "Somebody's Been Sleepin'" about 1970, I guess...
  1:46am
Matt from Springfield:

Jubal...is he that partying friend of mine, Jubal Lee?
  1:47am
Matt from Springfield:

Well, as long as he loves to butter them buns!
  1:48am
Matt from Springfield:

And thanks for Karen C, few lovelier voices have ever been recorded!
  1:49am
Joe McG:

@G: Yep, same group! @Matt: Jubal is great.
  1:58am
Matt from Springfield:

David Ackles was weird. Not weird in a bad way, but unique. Almost sounded like some fledging songwriters first unreleased demo.
  1:59am
Matt from Springfield:

Y SeƱor Puente! Why can't I ever find a bar or lounge with this background music? :)
  2:00am
Joe McG:

@Matt: He's an acquired taste, but his albums are really interesting once you get into them. Check out "American Gothic" first if you're interested in hearing more.
  2:01am
Matt from Springfield:

Thank you Joe. My curiosity was piqued by that song.
  2:13am
Matt from Springfield:

Is "Misogynistic Dating Advice" a band name? :D
  2:17am
Joe McG:

Should be, Matt! From Belgium, maybe.
  2:23am
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, Area Code 615 was Nashville's area code (still is, at least in the city). The band named themselves after that, even have a Wiki page!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_Code_615_(band)
  2:24am
Joe McG:

Yeah, Matt, they were the cream of Nashville's session musicians doing their own LP.
  2:37am
Jimmy Dickens:

May the bird of paradise fly up your nose, Ford!
  2:44am
Sue:

Good night, Joe! Thanks for the rockin' tunes!!
  2:47am
Joe McG:

You bet, Sue. Nice to "see" you again in these parts!
  2:58am
Matt from Springfield:

Autumn Tears! I have this one! Great minimalist Vashti from her early demos.
  3:00am
Matt from Springfield:

Good night Joe!
  6:34am
Brian in UK:

Joe, sorry to miss you today & David Ackles. Love all his records. Ask Elton John or Elvis Costello what they think of him.
