I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

  12:29pm
BSI:

But seriously folks: It must be tricky to integrate the ondes martenot with the orchestra in a live setting: Recently saw the Nat'l Symphony do Turangalîla and the bloody thing was deflected straight at my part of the auditorium, so it was easily 600% louder vs. the orchestra than it should've been. ......

was kind of a bitter drag, ruined the vibe, man. .....BUT this recording is hugely better. mo'betta.

  12:43pm
pierre:

@βrian : seems to me that you're good at it.
@ Bryce & everybody : stab is totally the love/hate way to kill people, right. I mean guns, and bombs are not for lovers, right ?
  12:44pm
pierre:

@ moon in June : omg, you are right :)
  12:44pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

depends on how much you love/hate
  12:44pm
Kevin:

stabbing is definitely for lovers
  12:44pm

tsk, those harvard lampooners
  12:45pm

a nice choking would suffice in a pinch, though
  12:46pm

@ pierre: I've just remembered it... :)
  12:46pm

Yes, the stab of love, interesting...
  12:46pm
BSI:

pillow-smothering is also a classic for lovers, is it not?
  12:49pm
pierre:

@ BSI : yeah you are right. Poison also strike me as a typical lover crime… in a less "in your face way"

@ Bryce : what is a "lampoon" ?
  12:49pm
pierre:

@ Freud : commenting on wfmu… even more interesting :)
  12:51pm
βrian:

lampoon => parodie
  12:53pm
pierre:

all right thanks for the vocabulary.
  12:54pm
Ike:

I nodded off on the PATH train as usual, but something was terribly amiss. My eyes jolted open and I screamed, for the horrifying, head-shaved visage of BRYCE was looming, nay TOWERING over me and its eyes were boring into my skull! So I said hi.
  12:54pm
Joe:

lampoon - lamp harpoon. It's a harpoon with a light on it. For the darkness of the sea.
  12:54pm
BSI:

Lampoon: powered spear-gun used to hunt prairie-dwelling wool-bearing animals?
  12:55pm
BSI:

too many hyphens?
  12:55pm

Ah, I stand corrected. And one should never flush a lampoon.

@bryce: You mean you have his DNA? He's definitely in our suspects database to run a match.

  2:17pm
Bill Shakespeare:

Bryce is making fun of the audience on the recording.
Audiences are the high-maintenance girlfriend in any performer's life. They're always either too much, or not enough.
  2:18pm
Ike:

Holy Jesus on a pogo stick, that was a boring 401k meeting. And I don't think any of these funds are socially responsible either. We've got the Goldman Suchs Kitten-Eating Fund, the Fidelity (to Satan) Fund, the Things Go Better With Koch Bros. Fund... what do I do? Arrgh.

whoa, just tuned in-I was listening to that same Messiaen last night and fell asleep on my sofa and now it feels like my shoulder has been stolen and replaced by an exact duplicate, teleported from planet ouch.
I left work early with a "migraine" otherwise known as "if I don't send out resumes this afternoon I will drown myself in the men's room, in my own blood and someone will have to clean it up"
  2:32pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

that does merit a "whoa"
  2:33pm
Adnan:

Ike told me his mommy taught him never ever to play with guns, so I found someone else. He's missing some excellent Thai for lunch today. Even the guard is totally chowing down.
  2:39pm
Ike:

So, CSI, you're prosecuting me for future crimes then? OK. Anything else fun coming up for me? Jaywalking tickets, restraining orders, divorces, moon-rock trafficking, mutant algae theft, topless bodies in headless bars?
  2:39pm
bartleby:

well I haven't had time to listen to Bryce for months now and then the one day I listen he's playing the same stuff I had on my stereo last night. I mean is there a quantitative criteria for "whoa?" Given the sheer number of things he might have been playing, if there were such a criteria I'd say it's been met.
  2:41pm
CSI-NY:

C'mon, Ike, Smithers is kinda cute, dontcha think?
  2:42pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

couldn't agree more, dude, I was serial

  2:57pm

from Quebec:

Dear Bryce: the Turangalîla was performed in Montreal at the new hall for the MSO on Sep 12-13 (it was fabulous). Just wondering if MSO knew that you were planning to feature this piece on your Sep 9 show when they programmed their concert (or vice versa). Great show as always - a faithful but always a bit behind archive listener
