Favoriting September 7, 2011: CUTE LEPERS live set!

Listen to this show: Pop-up listen Pop-up player!

'77 punk might be the jumping off point for Cute Lepers -- there's even a song called "77" on their latest album -- but they take that sound and run with it, taking it to places that the Ramones and Heartbreakers never imagined. That new album, Adventure Time (1-2-3-4-Go!/Damaged Goods), is chock-full of catchy anthemic hits and is a cinch to place in the upper reaches of efd's 2011 Best Of list. They're touring extensively across the US, so try to see them when they play your town!

Good evening all! I'm working while listening again.

Thanks for playing "love and loneliness" - weirdly, I had that running through my head this afternoon! Spooky!
  9:11pm

Cool SF Spike, glad to hear it!

Hi Cheri, thanks for listening.
  9:11pm
Sybil:

What SF Spike said.

  9:32pm
Carpet:

  9:37pm
Ike:

Hey what's yr hip-hop theme song that played just before the back-announce, Evan? I haven't listened to the opening hour of any of your shows in a while -- is that new? It's extremely excellent.
  9:38pm
Stevel:

Carpet: You know the drill. Besides, the carpet cleaner is like a lovely massage, right?
  9:39pm
efd:

As a matter of fact he is currently on tour around the US; he'll be in the NYC area in early November.
  9:44pm
Danne D:

Hi Funk Fans. @Ike that's been Evan's theme for a while - ya gotta catch up on your first hours :)

This is a great live set, EFD.
  9:44pm

The third track sounded a lot like the legendary late-70s Aussie punk band The Saints (and that is a good thing).
  9:46pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Good evening Evan and all the listeners.

Exterminator:

Roaches and beetles seek water, so until the studio drip is fixed and totally dried out, they will come around. Just sayin. Sometimes we tell people to dry their sinks at bedtime to help get rid of a roach issue.
  11:52pm
Holly in NC:

That's friggin' real. For pure grossness, check the side-barred video "praying mantis fishing for goldfish" - nor suitable for work, or the squeamish. GREAT to show vegetarian friends, however ! ;-) (sorry, sorry...)
  11:53pm
Holly in NC:

"Dry their sinks". Yeah, I've heard that before...
