Listener comments!

  9:14pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Killer start. Good evening Daniel.
  9:17pm
D. Blumin:

Hiya Richard! Welcome to the post-Irene return to homebase!
  9:21pm
Ike:

This Roman Flugel is great!
  9:22pm
12539:

I'm with Ike on this one.
  9:22pm
T-Zero:

Just thinking the same thing, Ike.

Evening Mr Blumin.
  9:23pm
T-Zero:

Heh, Roman Flugel seems to be a hit. Perhaps some more? lol
  9:23pm
D. Blumin:

I too am with Ike. Good evening, everyone!
  9:24pm
ô-Jif:

Bonsoir M. Blumin - sounds grand as always
  9:24pm
Shade of Sarge:

Don't forget Lamin Sunday morning, Ike. :-)

Nice opening, dB.
  9:27pm
D. Blumin:

Bonsoir, Jif + SoS. Glad to see everyone made it thru the 'cane. (other than the studio A carpet that is...)
  9:33pm
ô-Jif:

Well , glad to say -- the 'cane was pretty much nothin' here. Unliike a familial Vermont.
  9:35pm
T-Zero:

Your abode make it through undamaged, DB? For myself, I'm too far away to have been affected. Just back to the heat here. But appreciate you guys sucking in all the humidity for a while. ;)
  9:40pm
D. Blumin:

Yup, Jif - upstate got hit hard in places. Lotta flooding... which is where I decided to go on vacation BEFORE the hurricane decided to visit.
@ T-Zero - made it with nuthin damaged other than one familial photo that got destroyed by falling blinds... Cracked the frame and punched a hole straight thru a key ancestor!
  9:43pm
ô-Jif:

Dan'l - does that mean your vacay got rained out? Hope not, man.
  9:44pm
T-Zero:

@DB: Good things made it through ok, but sorry about the ancestor. Painting or photo? Repairable, or anyone else have one to copy?
  9:45pm
T-Zero:

Doh. Sorry. You said it was a photo.
  10:02pm
Sam-D:

My husband is at FishKill correctional in Beacon NY, and he says WFMU is one of the few things that is keeping him sane in there --He suggested i should listen to your show tonight. He hopes we can be BIG supporters of WFMU once he's home in June 2012. (of course he will have to listen to it streaming up here in CNY)... I just spent 2 days with him and we had WFMU on almost the whole time. :-)
  10:09pm
ô-Jif:

Ok - je me casse -- comme toujours thanks for the fine time Mr. Blumin.
  10:12pm
JT:

My collection of rare guitar picks was stolen by squirrels.
  10:14pm
Raid Agents:

We're from the government, and we're here to help.
  10:17pm
D. Blumin:

Man, I'm behind these commentz -
T-Zero, don't you worry - I think the hole might very well be an improvement!
  10:17pm
JT:

  10:18pm
Gibson Raid:

Gibson had paperwork for the wood they import from India, but the government claims Gibson can't prove that there's no problem with how the wood was sourced.

There have been problems like this in the wood instrument industry for some years now -- even if they try hard to follow all the import laws and cover their asses, the feds claim that there could have been a sourcing issue on the Asian end.
  10:20pm
T-Zero:

@DB, Heh, I guess there is a difference between a "key" ancestor and "favored" one lol
  10:23pm
D. Blumin:

Sam-D - best of luck to husband D.
  10:24pm
D. Blumin:

JT, those damn squirrels at it agin?
  10:24pm
RobotBoy:

Not to get too political on this rockin' radio show, but Obama and Friends™ are also breaking campaign promises and raiding medical marijuana joints. Our political system is so busted, and it's both parties who are to blame (the American people aren't totally off the hook either).
  10:28pm
G:

Yes, my sister-in-law's niece interviewed with a med-mar place on the west coast early this summer, and turned down the job because the feds keep overriding the state regulations and doing raids.

Partly that's because the feds always want to throw their weight around and intimidate anyone who they think is lower down the food chain, and partly it's so the current administration has *something* it can use to say to moderate voters that they are not really that "radical".
  10:30pm
JT:

RobotBoy: "rockin"? If you're not even going to listen to the show troll somewhere else plz.
  10:33pm
Sock Puppet:

IT'S ALL A CONSPIRACY TO GET THE NUGE, MAN!!!! AND THADDEUS MCCOTTER ISN'T DOING A THING TO STOP THE BLACK HELICOPTERS FROM STEALING OUR GUITARS.

MR PRESIDENT, I DON'T LIKE YOU, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO ROCK!!!!
  10:35pm
RobotBoy:

Everyone stay calm! Let's just listen to the rockin' sounds of DJ Blumin, and remember to vote for Rick Perry in 2012. (One of these two statements was meant in seriousness.)
  10:36pm
Ike:

Vote Blue Sausage Infant 2012!
  10:37pm
12539:

I'm voting for Roman Flugel and that's final. At least until I hear what Joe McGasko has to play.
  10:38pm
D. Blumin:

Whoa - what just happened? I am with Ike agin!
  10:40pm
D. Blumin:

12539, I bet JMC is goin' non-stop Flugel tonight!
  10:41pm
RobotBoy:

I often wonder how WFMU DJs find all the weird shit they play. A lot comes in through the new bin or whatever, but where do they come up with the rest of it?
  10:41pm
D. Blumin:

Hand-delivered by squirrels, RobotBoy!
  10:43pm
RobotBoy:

I wonder how squirrels taste. (Yes, I am hungry.) Probably like... rats. How do rats taste? Bueller?
  10:45pm
T-Zero:

@DB http://tinyurl.com/3efsk6t
  10:45pm
G:

@RB: Experts work at being experts. I'm an expert in a few fields, so I know how it goes. It takes a lot of interest, (eventually, years of) time, and effort. But you still always keep finding new things.
  10:48pm
Electric Candle:

greetings...enjoying a radio show after my radio show :-D
  10:50pm
matt:

this song legitimately kicks ass
  10:55pm
Ike:

What kind of songs illegitimately kick ass? Ones by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.? Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash? :)
  10:57pm
G:

@Ike: The Department of Redundancy Department had its Overemphasis Bureau make matt put "legitimately" in there. Regs.
  10:57pm
matt:

Sush Ike youre just a canadian baby hehe
  10:59pm
Dustin:

Starcastle
  11:01pm
Ike:

For a second, I was legitimately baffled by Matt's comment. I haven't watched S. Park lately. But I'm much happier to be associated w/a Canadian baby whose mouth is so big that it separates his head into two disconnected pieces instead of Ike Turner or a 50s Repub. president.
  11:03pm
Miyuki:

Rik Rue reprezent!
  11:09pm
matt:

hehehehehe. it's not my fault these bro's vernacular got caught in my noggin.
  11:11pm
Electric Candle:

We're discussing all that fits :)
  11:12pm
T-Zero:

Irish? Is that what that was? lol

And Pankow? I don't remember either of them (German or Italian)
  11:13pm

Everything that fits in the little white box
  11:13pm

  11:14pm
matt:

  11:15pm
T-Zero:

Snakes. ugh. Lots of water moccasins along the river where I spent my childhood.

And what drugs you on tonight? I want some.
  11:15pm
Electric Candle:

matt: i think it was the accordion music...was getting to me as well. everything is fine...
  11:15pm
G:

my girlfriend said turn the sound down or she won't be able to sleep, all the "everything's fine"s got her...
  11:17pm
G:

she just said, "you want a headset to keep listening?" and I thoughtlessly replied, "no, i'm fine". THEN SHE SCREAMED!!!!!
  11:19pm
12539:

I get scared by people insisting "Everything's fine."
  11:23pm
D. Blumin:

Electric Candle, I'm with you!
  11:24pm
jelrod:

my wife and I laughed out loud at the "everything's fine"... you are killing it tonight my friend.
  11:25pm
D. Blumin:

G, Everything's fine!!!
  11:26pm
jelrod:

and I can't believe you played Gene Pitney. That's the THIRD time today I have heard his music. Blumin, did you used to do another radio show a bunch of years ago? I meant to ask you last time I listened.
  11:28pm

  11:49pm
RobotBoy:

Blumin was rockin' Limp Bizkit and beer kegs back then.
  11:49pm
jelrod:

Blumin, I'm just realizing that I listened to you during WNYU days in the afternoons. I worked at an art gallery and we would listen on a little clock radio! You are aging gracefully. You are totally weird.
