hey...PR reps of Pilsener Haus & Biergarten here, caught your comments on the way home from the biergarten itself...being way uptown, the location may weed out some of the frat boy contingent...the crowd is diverse, from Hoboken old-timers I recognized from when I lived behind Maxwell's in the late 80s...to families with kids, beer geeks, everybody. The main DJ is Marc from Mehanata, (who by coincidence is childhood friends with 1/2 Japanese!) and he's not exactly spinning a bonehead soundtrack. The Viennese chef is from Cafe des Artistes, and his own Thomas Beisl in Brooklyn across from BAM, and the food is amazing...almost 70 beers...handpainted signs by a great Czech artist...founded by one of the founders of Radegast in Brooklyn...it's pretty f***ing amazing so come check it out and leave your hoboken preconceptions at the door. I know what you're talking about, but this isn't Bahama Mama's...
