so right before you told us listeners that was Robert Wyatt singing, I googled it and found this:
"Wyatting"

Recently the verb "Wyatting" appeared in some blogs and music magazines to describe the practice of playing weird tracks on a pub jukebox to annoy the other pub goers.

That all started when Kevin Costner was filming Wyatt Earp on location in the UK, he would pull these shenanigans with local towns people... usually he was still in "old west" garb, and thus pranksters picked-up the practice to represent the genius that is Kevin Costner.

...as for the practice of "Wyatting," there used to be a diner nearby with Barry McGuire's EVE OF DESTRUCTION on the jukebox. Now, when you've had a long night & you're repairing some well-earned damage with endless cups of coffee on a Sunday morning, and you happen to have a pocket full of quarters........ who could refuse?

yeah, Kurt does this great thing where he opens his show with some scratchy 45 pop hit, then talks over it @ 33rpm for the rest of his show. Pseu often warps organ records she talks over. Diane Kamikaze used to do a 45@33 thing pretty regularly
