Rupture:

John Roberts is not John Storm Roberts but both are awesome!

  8:09pm
Rupture:

now that Caribou did that Thomas Mapfumo bootleg edit, I understand where these guitar plucks are coming from. he ttly gets it and flips it....
  8:12pm
Kat:

I've been loving all the Daphni (aka Caribou) remixes I've heard.
  8:18pm
flopsy:

i want to eat this music. downliners sekt should have a visit with lapalux.
  8:18pm
jaysin:

Fever Ray. Awesome.
  8:19pm
lordgrenville:

it is edible plate ----well put Flopsy
  8:19pm
Rupture:

yeah, if Downliners was food that'd be a hearty meal. maybe dusk maybe breakfast.

FEVER RAY REEMMMIXXXXXXXXXXXXXT!
  8:20pm
Jim Strang:

Totally re: Daphni. Have really enjoyed Lamin playing it the past couple weeks. Haven't really listened to D. Snaith since he was Manitoba, but that "Mapfumo" treat is great
  8:26pm
Rupture:

the moral of that song was : STAY HEAVY
  8:27pm
jaysin:

Love a good moral tale.
  8:30pm
Patrick:

Rupture, great tunes for this summer evening. nice cooling rain here in columbus, hope you can find some distance from the heat tonight.
  8:31pm
dupree:

have you got any disco, i'm not liking this limey rap dance nintendo
nonsence
  8:31pm
Rupture:

PRESS THE DISCO BUTTON
  8:32pm
jaysin:

dupree needs to suck it
  8:33pm
Esteban:

I like the video game references in Wiley's track (Outrun, etc.)
  8:33pm
Rupture:

THATS THE GOOD TING ABOUT THE DISCO BUTTON -- YOU CAN PRESS IT OR SUCK IT, BOTH WORK!
  8:34pm
Jim Strang:

I think a WFMU disco button would just bring up Hatch's old shows . . .
  8:34pm
jaysin:

Hazaa!
  8:36pm
Kat:

@Jim Strang - kinda wish I had one then. I miss those shows.
Rupture is pressing all my buttons tonight though! Nice to hear someone playing John Roberts.
  8:36pm
jaysin:

DIGGABLE!!!!!
  8:37pm
Rupture:

I've had John Robert's Glass Eight on repeat last few days. shout out 2 Sam for pointing me inthe right direction. too good!
  8:39pm
Jim Strang:

I keep thinking every time I hear Shabazz Palaces that it's something new from Cherrywine just like I thought something new from Cherrywine back in 2003 was new Digable Planets. Butterfly's confusing, confusing but great.
  8:40pm
Kat:

Was out at Pitchfork yesterday. Wish I'd caught more of the Shabazz set. Of course all the fuss yesterday was about OFWTFBBQ *sigh*
  8:41pm
jaysin:

Strange, you feel me.
  8:42pm
Chris:

tuned in from Shanghai.... bout to make coffee! excellent selections...
  8:42pm
jaysin:

Uh, Strange.
  8:42pm
Rupture:

how was Pfork fest? last year seemed really great -- super relaxed for a big festival, calm security, local drinks + eats, no huge advertising. I WAS THE ONLY DJ PLAYING THO
  8:43pm
jaysin:

Try this once more: S-T-R-A-N-G.
  8:46pm
dupree:

you were the only DJ? man that musta sucked
  8:46pm
Kat:

Pfork is generally a good time, even yesterday when the place was full of OF fans and it was 95 degrees (they hand out free water and spray you down and stuff, which helps a lot). Wish they would have local beer but the food is good. Only DJ set though was Shadow, whose visual show was mostly fail due to a too early timeslot.
  8:48pm
Kat:

I went to DEMF aka Movement for the first time this year though and DEMF>P4K IMHO
  8:49pm
paula pc:

the Yobi -> Hamdouia is making me so happy...
  8:49pm
Rupture:

my Pitchfork set was fantastic -- amazing crowd. i think everybody who wanted to really dance + let loose (without the aid of guitars) gathered there and it went off. like, crowdsurfing. //// my Roman friends were raving about DEMF
  8:51pm
Kat:

Wait, how did I miss you at P4K last year??? oh, you must have played Friday. Only day I couldn't go. :(
  8:51pm
Rupture:

good ears paula pc :) i need to start blogging more of the moroccan music ive been sinking into lately...
  8:52pm
Rupture:

nah i played p4k 2 years ago.
  8:54pm
Kat:

ah that explains it, I missed a lot of the 2009 one.
  8:55pm
rick r:

Ur playing some awesome tunes.
  8:57pm
phil:

this dahi katma is rockin'!
  9:00pm
Rupture:

  9:01pm
flopsy:

  9:05pm
