  10:35am
BSI:

Absolutely adored London & Newcastle in the summer. Now planning to go back during the dregs of Winter. If I still approve, will start hatching plans to expatriate immediately.
  10:35am
Lucas:

Sun doesn't listen!
  10:37am
dc pat:

I like a range in weather conditions. Blizzards in January, burning sand in July...
  10:37am
Marmalade kitty:

SUNRAAAAA!
  10:38am
aaa:

its not hot enough until walking around barefoot burns the bottoms of your feet o.O
  10:38am
seang:

burning sands--cool band from Memphis
  10:41am
dc pat:

should have said "blinding blizzards" they're a cool group in my brain.
  10:42am
Marmalade kitty:

where are you based, BSI?
  10:44am
seang:

"what would you think if I sang out of tune" :)
  10:49am
BSI:

@Marmalade K., Washington DC. Grew up here, so I should be used to it by now. But alas!
  10:51am
dc pat:

yeah, we don't get enough blinding blizzards down here...
  10:55am
BSI:

Spent 10 years in southern Arizona as well; And it's true that AZ heat is easier to deal with: 113 degrees in Tucson beats 92 in DC. But the weather is too consistent. Very little change. I dig a little violence in my sky once in a while.
  10:56am
Marmalade kitty:

there's Washington village/town, 10 miles south of Newcastle. Snowfall was particularly harsh last winter over a metre..
@dc pat, I love the 4 seasons, trouble is in uk we only seem to have sumer for 2 weeks.. if we're LUCKY!
  10:59am
aaa:

I need to move north someplace like uk so I don't have to worry about getting too much sun xD
  11:00am
dc pat:

sounds like our Spring in dc. It was pretty good this year but usually it's 2 weeks of 60's, 70's and then BOOM 90's for 5 months or so
  11:00am
wildneil:

In the past, was 125 in the shade in Ridgecrest, CA. Needed to drink a GALLON of water per HOUR to deal with this kind of heat while working on my International Harvester truck....
  11:04am
aaa:

I work outside about 12hours a day, I usually fill my vietnam canteen 4-5 times plus lots of coffee and sport drank. by 9am though usually soaked in sweat. I hear in AZ though people do not sweat =)
  11:05am
patrick:

dan hicks one bright spot in vancouver folk festival, almost rained out three days.summer has not arrived on the west coast
  11:05am
dc pat:

When I was in AZ it was 100 degrees and everyone had long pants on and acted like nothing was wrong.
  11:09am
wildneil:

In the southwest areas I lived in (USA) I would make the following correlations:
Desert 80F=buffalo, NY 70f
Desert 90F=buffalo, NY 75f
Desert 100f=Buffalo, NY85F
Desert 105F=Buffalo, NY90f
Desert 110 F= Buffalo, NY 95F
Desert 115F=Buffalo, NY 98f
Desert 120F= Buffalo, NY 100F

And, in the desert people do not appear to sweat because it evaporates instantly....it is so DRY and HOT it is like a meat smoking chamber...it's a dry heat... but so is an oven! After 110F, it is really, really hard to deal....
  11:09am
Carmichael:

Hi Liz, hi everyone.
  11:09am
aaa:

Glacial Glow , Frozen Eyes, Galactic Melt, Coolrunnings
liz cool us down with subliminal message!
  11:10am
Lucas:

@aaa: i agree
  11:11am
BSI:

At first in AZ it was very trippy. About 110 degrees and due to the low humidity, you feel the air sucking moisture out of your tear-ducts. It was awesome, actually. After a week or so, I stopped noticing. And it's true, DCP, once it got to just 100, it felt pretty cool. But DC is home, with its nightmare swamp air...
  11:12am
other david:

Hey, Liz, Carmichael, everyone :)
  11:12am
aaa:

I'll pretend I live in an ice cream truck when the bed music come on
  11:12am
fred von helsing:

Come to Hellsinki, it's 20 hours of daylight and in the 70s (F) during the day !
  11:15am
Carmichael:

I spent some time in Tucson and loved it. It was hotter than a MoFo, but strangely it was not an "oppressive" heat. I've never been so tan as then.
  11:17am
Richard from Venezuela:
