Hullo dere!
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:04pm J J:

Hope all the songs are gonna be HOT today.
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:05pm tonyc:

They'll be HOT AS HADES
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:13pm tonyc:

Anybody home?
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:15pm Ike:

  Tue. 7/19/11 12:16pm tonyc:

Hey Ike! Choking on the gazpacho?
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:16pm mark:

Mmmmm - gazpacho
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:21pm tonyc:

Hiya, Mark!
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:22pm J J:

Ass Zic?
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:23pm tonyc:

'Fraid so....
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:33pm tonyc:

He builded a house....
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:46pm tonyc:

It's probably a sign of mental disintegration, but I've been getting into this kind of '70s AOR pomp rock recently.
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:47pm tonyc:

Like the Alexis & Northwind tracks, I mean....
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:56pm mark:

Googled Alexis for heck of it and someone on a blog likened them to "Pablo Cruise meets Head East meets Chicago". What an endorsement! - or is it?
  Tue. 7/19/11 12:59pm n davis:

I'm betting AOR will be the next big thing on MP3 blogs. That Alexis track is really good!
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:00pm J J:

I was thinking some of these bands are like the ones you have no problem finding their used LPs in every dusty thrift store. No shortage of Pablo Cruise.
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:01pm tonyc:

Well, in fact, I have picked up most of the Head East LPs in thrift stores and dollar bins out here. Coming soon to Give the Drummer Radio.
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:02pm tonyc:

Pablo Cruise I haven't had the courage to check out yet, though...
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:11pm J J:

Having browsed many a thrift bins, there must have been an period of time in the 70's when it seemed a lot of bands posed shirtless on their album covers. Now it's mostly solo rap artists that do it.
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:12pm tonyc:

Pablo Cruise also seems to always pose with wet hair....
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:13pm Jeremy:

Have any other artists done a Two Virgins style completely naked LP cover?
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:16pm Conrad:

Yay for obscure new wave! See, kids, The Waitresses did more than "Christmas Wrapping" and "I Know What Boys Like."
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:16pm tonyc:

Hey Jeremy! Here's one:

On the Seventh Day... ( http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/on_the_seventh_day/on_the_seventh_day___/ )
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:20pm tonyc:

In case that endless link doesn't work, the band I meant is On the Seventh Day
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:20pm Jeremy:

two more virgins!
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:23pm tonyc:

Pseu Braun guests on this Smersh LP!!
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:24pm Dingo Virgin:

Acid Mother GONG
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:29pm tonyc:

Or is it pronounced "Sessna"? Dunno....
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:29pm J J:

I found this article that says specific year revivals are all the rage and currently the fashionable year is 1988. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2011/jul/17/one-year-counts-1980s-1988
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:31pm tonyc:

Uh oh -- not sure if there's anything from '88 in today's show.
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:32pm tonyc:

Tho by the time the show's over, another year will probably be the it year....
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:33pm Jeremy:

tea, vicar? http://www.flickr.com/photos/omnia/22315766/
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:35pm tonyc:

Yikes! He does have his collar on, though, I see....
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:37pm Jeremy:

But, officer, I've already been collared! Love JB...I have been on a Bender bender since getting the reissues.
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:44pm tonyc:

I once saw a woman with a John Bender tee-shirt on sitting in a cafe. Turned out she had bought it back in the '80s but had no idea who he was.
Tue. 7/19/11 1:48pm Brian in UK:

Afternoon Tony & co from an extremely showery UK. Washing has had six rinses so far on the line. Summer BAH..
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:49pm sirhc swerdna:

  Tue. 7/19/11 1:51pm tonyc:

Wet wishes to you, Brian (and backwards man too)
Tue. 7/19/11 1:51pm Brian in UK:

Did you write 'Yesterday Man' in 1965?
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:53pm sirhc swerdna:

in a former life - yes!
  Tue. 7/19/11 1:55pm tonyc:

Brian: Did Phil Coulter write that? When I first started at FMU a rumor circulated for a bit that I was Phil Coulter's younger brother
Tue. 7/19/11 1:57pm Brian in UK:

I thought he wrote that & several of Sandie Shaws' hits. Phil Coulter co wrote Puppet on a String for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Tue. 7/19/11 1:58pm Brian in UK:

To avoid confusion 'He' being sirhc swerdna!!!
Tue. 7/19/11 1:59pm Brian in UK:

Are you part Irish then, Tony?
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:01pm tonyc:

A wee bit, via one grandparent.
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:01pm sirhc swerdna:

my brother's name is ynot and i did have a french great grandmother...
Tue. 7/19/11 2:03pm Brian in UK:

Whynot tony?
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:04pm tonyc:

Phil Whynot?
Tue. 7/19/11 2:04pm Brian in UK:

He was in Thin Lizzy. An Irish connection?
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:05pm tonyc:

He's my unborn son.
Tue. 7/19/11 2:08pm Brian in UK:

Was Manticore owned by ELP?
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:09pm tonyc:

Brian: Yep, Manticore was ELP's label.
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:09pm sirhc swerdna:

yeah the singer in the tribute band, saw them the other week, kept doin encores without being asked
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:14pm sirhc swerdna:

synths featuring nicely today :)
Tue. 7/19/11 2:14pm Brian in UK:

I met a guy couple of years ago at a gig and he mentioned PFM for some odd reason as it was a Hellwood gig. He was suitably taken aback when I pronounced the groups name fully (cannot spell it though)
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:16pm tonyc:

Pre-mumble mumble Bakery
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:16pm Jeremy:

More triangle!
Tue. 7/19/11 2:17pm Brian in UK:

Count Basie Orchestra on Triangle.
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:18pm Jeremy:

Suitably enough, I'm parched...
Tue. 7/19/11 2:19pm Brian in UK:

Beer o'clock?
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:19pm Ike:

"The Romantic Side of Schizophrenia" indeed. What a good description.
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:21pm Kay:

Have you figured out a title for this show yet, Tony?
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:21pm tarkus:

Yes PFM opened for ELP in 70's & they liked them/ Italian Prog needed promo.
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:22pm tonyc:

Kay: Nope. Have a suggestion? (Greetings!)
Tue. 7/19/11 2:25pm Brian in UK:

I think Ike has it with the Frank Pahl.
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:27pm Kay:

Since I'm not listening live, it's difficult. "Sidewise through the yesteryears"?
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:29pm J J:

The Coulter Personality Disorder
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:31pm tonyc:

My show titles are usually made up by combining words from the titles of songs played in the show. Now you know the rules....
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:32pm Kay:

Side=The Romantic Side of Schizophrenia
Yester=Just Yesterday
Wise=(your upcoming song choice)
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:34pm tonyc:

Talking about titles, this Bing Selfish album has the greatest title ever.
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:37pm DTCD:

  Tue. 7/19/11 2:40pm sirhc swerdna:

yesterwise man?
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:43pm tonyc:

Actually, I'm leaning toward "Ghost Tambourine"
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:44pm HALF/MAcHINE:

  Tue. 7/19/11 2:47pm tonyc:

I have been Chrome-plated

  Tue. 7/19/11 2:53pm tonyc:

  Tue. 7/19/11 2:54pm Kay:

"Homegrown ghost pepper jingle jangle"
  Tue. 7/19/11 2:54pm tonyc:
