bruceleh:

In my office, I'm in a room with 4 desks, but mine is the only one occupied, so it's off with the headphones!
  9:30am
Cecile:

Good morning!

I just thought of something that might be good. I was reading the local edition of the Onion, and realized the bar listings all focused on the coolness and the potential getting-sexed-ability. I think I might make a Tumblr listings of places in the Twin Cities that are a good place to TALK.
  9:32am
JT:

I love those EPs from the 3Ds. I hope this (re)release means I can get it into my MP3 collection soon.
  9:33am
Cecile:

I have to get those myself. I just missed those. everything I hear from them is great.
  9:38am
miketp:

looking forward to hearing the new gobba ghouls lp
  9:38am
the bahai llama:

NZ is a fine country, but Flying Nun is maybe the best thing to come out of there!
  9:40am
Cecile:

I have to say yes to that, even though I adore Flight of the Conchords.
  9:40am
miketp:

sweet tune scott by kate and anna nice chang of mood
  9:41am
Cecile:

Marrow, a SF electro band, does a nice cover of that.
  9:41am
Cecile:

And by adore, I mean cultish fangirl squee-worship.
  9:43am
matthewkoshak:

Cecile:

It could be expanded or back in print.
  9:50am
Scott:

  9:51am
bruceleh:

School Days = ultimate rebuttal to audiophiles.
  9:56am
Looms:

This Fall is totally great!
  9:57am
hamburger / london:

  9:57am
Marmalade Kitty:

Marc Riley is a hoot!
  10:00am
Marmalade Kitty:

  10:01am
Marmalade Kitty:

..and thunder storm in background!!
  10:02am
Cecile:

You can also find School Days as a Hat Hut deal on CD
  10:03am
hamburger / london:

scott sounds like he's broadcasting from the jungle :)
  10:04am
bruceleh:

There were a couple of Hat releases 1995, 2006, I think, of 'School Days'
They run for about asking $30, $34 on Amazon.
Worth buying twice.
  10:04am
Cecile:

it's not a rumor. Here is the press release on the Lacy CD reissue. Withdrawn, and Hat Hut is going to reissue again.

http://www.emanemdisc.com/E5016.html
  10:07am
Cecile:

God bless emanem for reissuing it, but NEVER ever reissue anyting w/o a lawyer!
  10:10am
Marmalade Kitty:

never cross the street without a lawyer..! ;)
  10:12am
Cecile:

Seriously, though. An acquaintance of mine put out a record with a John Coltrane cover on it. then he was suprised when Alice Coltrane wanted $400 for it. You have to check these things out!
  10:14am
Cecile:

$400 doesn't sound like a lot, but it was half his profits from the record.
  10:14am
hamburger / london:

ohyea, was it on wfmu someone mentioned of a pixel art version of some cover and got massively sued
  10:15am
Cecile:

Yes. It was the 8-bit version of Kind of Blue.
from a distance, it looked exactly like the photo. I still don't understand it, to me it falls in the area of homage. But I'm not a lawyer.
  10:16am
adamp:

no shizzit!
  10:17am
hamburger / london:

that photographer's a dick: http://bit.ly/kRYSBh
  10:21am
Cecile:

I mean, hamburger. If I had a photo someone did that to, I 's negotiate to pay them a small fee, and then make sure the CD or download had their website info with it so people could order prints of the original.
  10:22am
Cecile:

I think you could make most folks happy that way.
  10:22am
Cecile:

I mean if I was putting out a record. I'm a little incoherent this AM
  10:26am
Cecile:

Isn't it Deerhunter? I only ask because it so didn't sound like Deerhoof.
  10:36am
Scott:

Yes totally, playlister auto fills in and I let it.
  10:37am
Cecile:

I'm just shocked I knew that because I don't follow either band.
  10:38am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

the playlist uses autofill? that can lead to lots of funny situations!
  10:40am
Scott:

Yes it autofills, very fancy. Saves lots o' typing time!
  10:45am
Looms:

The Ronettes following Peter Evans! That's why I love this station.
  10:46am
Cecile:

Yeah. One NPR station here brags about how Patsy Cline follows Otis Redding, but 'FMU has 'em beat.
  10:47am
Scott:

It made sense at the time.
  10:47am
Cecile:

And we're glad you did it.
  10:57am
Looms:

Sadly there are very few freeform stations in France. As well as festivals: everything's "specialized". Pretty boring for someone who dislikes artistic frontiers.
  11:05am
Well Adjusted:

FMU is really trying to get me to like this band but it won't work.
  11:09am
pierre:

do you any freeform radio in France, Looms ?
  11:09am
pierre:

Fucked Up is great !
  11:19am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I'm very scattered today, and that was the perfect soundtrack for it.
  11:21am
hubba:

Is this a head start?
  11:24am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

right, Bryce is going to play the remaining 2 hours of the set that he didn't cover last week...I wouldn't mind a bit!
  11:24am
Looms:

@Pierre: anything like FMU I'm afraid. Do you?
  11:25am
Looms:

Jeez! Meant "no one" like...
  11:25am
J J:

This is great to listen to at full blast. Feels like you're living inside an airplane engine.
  11:26am
Scott:

The question is where to fade this 79min beauty.
  11:27am
pierre:

@Looms : there is FIP, but its to linked to the nation.
NOTHING can compare to wfmu, apart from WFMU
  11:30am
trolly mctrollerson:

I just wish sometimes they would play some Top 40 singles / or maybe do an ad for Starbucks some time
  11:30am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

hell, FMU doesn't even compare to itself!
  11:37am
Spank Trolllermeister:

I know I'd love to hear more ads. They're such a welcome break from all the music. Two maybe three songs and then I'm beat. I want to know what furniture stores are going out of business and learn about the wonders of Oaxaca Mexico.
  11:39am
Marmalade Kitty:

how spaced out!
  11:39am
Looms:

@Pierre: FIP isn't freeform enough for me (just saying)
  11:45am
dave:

i'm with spank trollmeister. i love WFMU, but i need to know where I can get an escalade with no money down.

also, howzabout a little switchfoot or blink 182 every now and then? get with the times. play something for the kids.
  11:47am
Scott:

I think you mean Chickenfoot.
  11:47am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

if you listen to Irwin's show you can find out about term insurance rates.
  11:56am
Marmalade Kitty:

the Bobbie Gentry reminds me of coconut grove - loving spoon
  11:57am
Looms:

So, what's your opinion on the new bin, Scott?
  11:59am
Scott:

Pure love, baby!
  11:59am
Looms:

Agreed, thanks for the tunes.
  12:00pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Great Scott! show!
