  9:16am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

hey all, happy Thursday
  9:20am
jason:

anybody know anything about magic mushrooms? i am intrigued by this article http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/20110615/ts_yblog_thelookout/far-out-magic-mushrooms-could-have-medical-benefits-researchers-say
  9:20am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I know a bit.
  9:21am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Doing my own research.
  9:23am
BSI:

I'm well past my R&D on the topic, but I'm very much in favor of such.
  9:23am
moose:

they do leave lingering positivity
  9:26am
Nathan:

I concur with Moose... though I've had the bad trip as well and the accompanying self-destructive attitude.. but low dosages are now my favourite, just enough to 'open the eyes' get you a bit excited but not carried away...
  9:28am
fishmonkeystew:

In my experience, what the article says is true - as long as the environment and mindset during the trip are positive. Though, it's been a while...
  9:31am
northguineahills:

I really like this Margaret Lancaster....
  9:31am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

low doses work best for me too...able to get out and go to a noise show, get lost for awhile, and then back to reality
  9:32am
Nathan:

I will say that anything that let's you rid yourself of 'yourself' for a while is a good way to take stock... and a positive thing for people regardless of age.
  9:33am
BSI:

......and OF COURSE they have "medical benefits" -- people have known this for over 40,000 years, but "science" will forever be manufacturing its own delusions of relevance by re-inventing common-sense-reality. Their motives are funding & job security, not truth. Do not trust the men in white labcoats.

This editorial was brought to you by the makers of Synthetic Paranoid Western Civilization...
  9:33am
moose:

i think it's almost better for you at an older age when it's easy to get stuck in less-magical ways
nathan yours showed up as i was writing- exactly
  9:33am
Cheri Pi:

A belated good morning to Jason and all-I've been listening but not typing.
  9:34am
Nathan:

I've been trying to get my dad (63), whose never done any hallucinogens it to take a trip... simply because I think it's one of those experiences that everyone should have in life.
  9:36am
Budgie:

You call this a SHOW?
  9:36am
Nathan:

Also, when they were legal here in London - Christ those were great summers - the folks selling them in the markets etc.. were astounded at the age range of folks who bought them... 16-76.. sadly they made them illegal. Not that they had any data on deaths or anything, they just did it because well, folks were having too much fun I guess.
  9:38am
Cheri Pi:

Hawkwind sample?
  9:38am
Cecile:

Nathan, I am reminded of what Cary Grant said to Carrie Fisher when she asked about his experience taking LSD (under medical supervision) to "cure" his homosexuality.

"Don't take LSD to cure your homosexuality"
  9:38am
?:

Teen Wolf Birthday party theme tunes on low batteries in Montpellier?
  9:39am
Cecile:

Knowing how unpredictable that stuff can be, I'm happy to never have that experience.
  9:42am
Cecile:

But I'm pretty much libertarian when it comes to drugs: if there is an age limit (let kids develop their mind before they expand it) and people are educated about the pluses and minuses.
  9:43am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

trips are really not for everyone. people who have a troubled soul, demons or feel every emotion of their to the extreme, should really stay away.
  9:43am
Cecile:

Yes, exactly.
  9:48am
eirikur:

Melt Banana! thanks for that!
  9:49am
Handsome Harry:

YEAAAAH! It is always a good time for Melt-Banana.

  9:59am

  10:00am
pierre:

  10:00am
