New theme song? This Eno! Also, suggested segue - this into Juliana Barwick.
  9:38am
erella:

I have been thinking of the Ghanian postal workers MP3 for the last few days. I found it here on the FMU blog many years ago. THAT and this ancient Eno are marvellous. You're playing exactly what I want to hear!

  11:07am
scott:

Hey thanks!
  11:07am
Todd 76%:

@ Mike: I've got something great planned for this weekend: I'm in an improvising collective (w/ mittimus & hat city intuitive members) that's opening for Jooklo Duo/Bill Nace/ Paul Flaherty @ Popeye's Garage in New Haven CT Sunday night. Way psyched!
  11:12am
Mike East:

@Todd 76% - I just looked at the website for that space. Looks pretty cool. Enjoy! What do you play?
  11:15am
Cecile:

Paul Flaherty is a gentleman and a great performer. I wrote a tiny blurb when he played in MN years ago, and he acted like I'd put him on the front page of the NY Times.
  11:19am
Todd 76%:

@Mike East - Thanks, Mike! I will... Even though I'm an old hardcore punk guitarist, depending on who shows up from the HCI, I'll mostly be playing bass clarinet or drums/percussion.
@Cecile - I love Paul and have had the pleasure of playing and recording with him. I'm so glad that he's no longer CT's best-kept free improv secret!
  11:22am
Sandy in Houston:

this is very nice!
  11:25am
Mike East:

Very cool. I love bass clarinet. I too am in category of old rocker turned free jazz impoviser....though I'm thinking of getting back to my roots.
  11:39am
Todd 76%:

@Mike: Very cool. There's an energy connection between those two musics, although I was bummed when I finally got into a hc punk band in the early 80's, and found out they hated all of the free music I'd been discovering since the early 70's. Still love playing with them. We reunite regularly to play shows. Were you in bands? What do you play?
  11:44am
Tech Support:

The link for "Jooklo Duo" is broken.
  11:49am
scott:

Thanks, I fixed it.
  11:49am
Mike East:

Yeah I've been a lot of different bands with varying degrees of success over the years. Focusing on recording right now...and I miss rocking out in front of a crowd. I'm primarily a bass player, but also enjoy guitar, drums, and singing. I usually just play whatever nobody else has a claim on.
  11:53am
Cecile:

my friend and I discussed the different between the older punks and the HC scene. HC almost seemed afraid of experimental art and the older punk scene really embraced it. My friend has a theory that it coincided with women and gays being less welcome in the scene and the rise of slam dancing. He has a giant unified field theory about this.
  11:55am
Looms:

Nice piece, nice set; thx.
  11:59am
wage slave:

really enjoying the live set! thanks.
  12:03pm
Todd 76%:

Wow, kickin' set! Thanks, Scott!
@ Cecile: I'd prob agree with that theory especially after '84 - '85. The neo-straight-edge movement alienated lots of us!
  3:52pm
matthewkoshak:
