Live performance by Redhooker |
| Named after a remembered year of sadness and isolation in an industrial quarter of Brooklyn, Redhooker once again brought their intertwining strings and sounds to the WFMU studios. The ensemble previewed some lovely new music in advance of a performance at Merkin Hall on Thursday, May 26th as a part of the Tribeca New Music Festival. Redhooker's in-studio performance featured the newest member of the group, Derek Muro on saxophone and also the group's violinist Maxim Moston doubling on the Rhodes piano through his marriage-straining gaggle of boutique analog effects pedals. Peter Hess added bass clarinet with effects, Ben Lively also played violin with effects, and their ringleader is guitarist Stephen Griesgraber. | |||||||

First Gentle Giant song I've ever heard. I had no idea this is what they sounded like. Prog XTC? Does all their stuff sound like this?
Mon. 5/23/11 12:14pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:
that sounded like the better stuff they did...they got a bit dull and poppy towards the end, watered-down...
