A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Good soggy morning to you Trouble. Thanks a ton for your premium cd. Got it in the mail just the other day. Love the blue and gold coloring combo. Makes me think of old California license plates, Blue Angel fighter/show pilots, the movie Blue Velvet and the Swedish flag.
  Tue. 5/17/11 9:43am pierre:

Trouble you are the best, thanks for sharing this with us !!!
  Tue. 5/17/11 9:44am dc pat:

  Tue. 5/17/11 9:44am trouble:

glad you like it jennique! it was the second version since the first painting i made featured a puddle of hot pink that would not reproduce at all! weird, like it was a ghost in a photo or such...

  Tue. 5/17/11 9:50am pierre:

aaah knew it !
when the guys said "matraque blanche" (white club - as in weapon), it sounded like something from the past, know policemen clubs are dark, thus the blood is less visible… sigh police violences.

Trouble, i love your show.
  Tue. 5/17/11 9:50am pierre:

Hi bw !
  Tue. 5/17/11 9:51am trouble:

  Tue. 5/17/11 10:08am Jennique:

If you cut holes in the plastic bag just big enough to fit your legs through, you could have plastic pantaloons. Now THAT is a look.
  Tue. 5/17/11 10:08am postmanpaul:

Hi Trouble, your painted lady has' hidden' Tamara de Lempicka-esq facial features but I know it's a Gainsborough. Without a shadow of a doubt!
  Tue. 5/17/11 10:17am Ken:

Who sang that version of "In the Land of Make-Believe" in your last set? I think I'm only familiar w/Dusty Springfield's.
  Tue. 5/17/11 10:18am trouble:

Hey Brian! I proposed to my gorgeous wife-to-be in the Greys! I liked B Braggs Imagined Village very much (particularly the album artwork - can I say that without sounding like a pitifully shallow graphic designer?). Let's meet up there!
Trouble - I think I've spotted that painting before, was it poss hanging on the stair wall in a classic Vincent Price horror!
  Tue. 5/17/11 10:48am moose:

the sun is out!

@pmp that makes more sense, but she IS intriging with that hair and fur
Tue. 5/17/11 10:56am Brian in UK:

@pmp Sounds like a good idea. Need to sort out practicalities coming from Watford & whether there are any tickets left. My sister might be coming up from Somerset that w/end as well. You've confused me with the BB reference.
  Tue. 5/17/11 10:58am Carmichael:

Good non-Monday morning, everyone.
Tue. 5/17/11 11:01am aaron in chicago:

  Tue. 5/17/11 11:01am dc pat:

Tue. 5/17/11 11:02am Brian in UK:

Would recommend the film 'Benda Bilili' to everyone if you get a chance to see it. Saw it last night, very touching as well as Congolese music with a new twist.
Tue. 5/17/11 11:03am aaron in chicago:

good thing!
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:06am annie:

  Tue. 5/17/11 11:11am listener mark:

Will the crane be installing an air conditioner on the roof? It is super hot upstairs, we had to drink many cold beverages to stay cool.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:14am pierre:

i didn't know this version, i think i'm in love with Debbie Harry
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:15am Deepak:

This reminds me, Blondie will be on A&E's private sessions this sunday
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:16am dc pat:

I've been in love with Debbie Harry for 30-some years...
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:16am postmanpaul:

I believed they featured on the album, Brian - song about a day in the life of an olden days Suffolk shepherd. Nice work still b/p! Am presently scrutinising and verifying. Thanks maja! Her hair and mink do not appear to be of that period, but.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:17am Deepak:

This is the only version a french friend of mine liked when i introduced him to Blondie.
Tue. 5/17/11 11:17am Brian in UK:

@ pierre If you like her, try this. It's on next Sunday.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0118cmz
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:18am Carmichael:

OK, now I'm the comments board whack job once again for disliking Blondie.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:18am frenchee:

I thought Trouble was looking for a (whooping) crane in her backyard until she mentioned the parking lot...and the A.C.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:19am Deepak:

why would anyone dislike Blondie? Its the greatest band ever.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:20am dc pat:

blondie for me was like a gateway drug. I liked some of their stuff but quickly moved on to much noisier groups. Still in love with Debbie though...
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:20am pierre:

@ dc pat : yeah i've a friend who's been waiting as well.
@ Carmichael : yeah, but what about Debbie Harry ?
@ Deepack : thanks, will there be archive of that ? I mean, does the bbc has the same archive policy as wfmu does, which is completely awesome.
Tue. 5/17/11 11:20am Brian in UK:

This is what FMU needs more verbals. Is this a Jerry Lee Lewis take off? Hello baby you know what I like.
@pmp I think she is wearing a syrup.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:22am ffrr:

Good morning Trouble. Was that a 'teach your parrot to talk' record? I think I have that.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:22am Stevel:

I remember seeing Blondie on the Midnight Special about 100 years ago. I was SURE Debbie Harry actually checked me out with a slow, up and down look. Not sure what she saw in a 16-year-old twerp in his PJs, but hey, a boy can dream.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:22am Vivian:

  Tue. 5/17/11 11:24am postmanpaul:

@ Brian, that was Sussex, not Suffolk. PJ Harvey has a rather special new album out, wouldn't mind catching her at Barcelona's Primavera Sound Festival end of May.... awesome line-up. Thanks wfmu for covering the show.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:24am stu:

Your looking rather regal this morning Trouble !

Cheers
Tue. 5/17/11 11:25am aaron in chicago:

I like my tropiques triste.
  Tue. 5/17/11 11:25am Deepak:

@pierre i'm afraid there's no archive for BBC programmes but if you check out TheBox.bz or any other private torrent tracker you'll find the whole thing.
Tue. 5/17/11 11:25am Brian in UK:

@ pierre I think that the BBC iplayer retains for one week.
Clem Burkes drumming was the BEST. Crisp, sharp on the beat.
