howdy doody hamburger / london!
  9:08am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Charlie Nothing's release on De Stijl is just as brilliant!
gotta love this label.
  9:09am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

not to mention the great review about him in last Wire edition.

oh, btw, hi Jason ;)
  9:16am
Michele:

Morning Jason!
Stealing Orchestra track is great.
  9:17am
jason:

g'mornin Yair and Michele!

what does everybody want to happen today?
  9:20am
annie:

morning jason. i want to finish painting that second room...
  9:20am
Tom:

World peace, dissolution of capitalism, Mets to be good ...

until then just some good music.
  9:22am
glenn:

i want neil young to announce that bert jansch will open his shows in toronto in may.
  9:22am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

I want to write a new piece and gain confidence about a random thing
  9:22am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

I want to write a new piece and gain confidence about a random thing
  9:22am
jason:

haha alright Tom, we'll make sure the Mets are good.

Hey Annie, I didn't know you were a painter, is your artwork online?
  9:23am
Tom:

Isn't Jansch on this entire tour, Glenn?
  9:23am
βrian:

Annie only paints on holidays.
  9:23am
annie:

hehe, i can barely draw stick figures.. this is house-painting essentially; painting rooms here where i work, so we can use them for overnight guests.. have two more to go after this
  9:24am
annie:

haha.. i love that brian
  9:24am
Tom:

No, Jason, as powerful and and well intentioned as you are, not even you can perform this miracle.
  9:24am
Steve L:

I want about 8 work-related and 7 family-related and 5 volunteer-related tasks to take care of themselves while I listen to the radio.
  9:24am
annie:

Bumper sticker: painters do it on holidays
  9:24am
glenn:

i don't know about that. when i saw in the paper this morning he was opening in toronto, my little heart went pitt a patt.
  9:27am
glenn:

on the other hand, i pretty much refuse to spend more than 30$ or so on any concert ticket, so i imagine i won't be going.
  9:29am
Tom:

Yeah, think Jansch is on the whole tour. Saw them last year and Neil fans, unsurprisingly were divided on Jansch. Half were calling for him to finish, or just talking loudly. Half seemed appreciative. Neil fans are a mixed bunch.
  9:33am
jason:

OK: raise your hand if you're on twitter! i am @therewasaguy
2nd question: would you like to have your wfmu commenter profile automatically link to your twit/face profile, or do you prefer to keep your wfmu identity unique/anonymous?
  9:34am
βrian:

This Nackt Insecten is nice noise. Good noise to work by.
  9:34am
Cecile:

Yair, yes you do. Clint from DeStijl is a stand-up guy and a real music detective. He does Minneapolis proud
  9:34am
glenn:

is that surprising?
  9:35am
Goomba:

Yo, twit/face! You lookin' at me?
  9:35am
Cecile:

I would be cool with my profile linking as I'm Cecile both places. (my name is in my Twitter profile.)
  9:36am
hamburger / london:

how would they link across?
  9:36am
Cecile:

Tom - I know. You get the people who like the butt-rockin' side of Neil, and the people who want to follow him through his journey. There isn't a lot of overlap. Sonic Youth had the same reaction.
  9:36am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

I would pay 100$ to see Jansch play in tel aviv, and will add 400 more to open his show and maybe cook him a dinner
  9:38am
Admiral Halsey:

Hands across the water, water! Hands across the sky!
  9:39am
Cecile:

LOL! Yair. I would pay $ for Neil if I could get a ticket. ANd also, do not laugh, Metallica. I almost spend stupid money on GaGa and I might do it sometime. I spent $75 on Ornette and it would have been awesome at $100. But I'm cheap deep down.

right now? Standup comedy is your best enterainment value.
  9:40am
jason:

i don't know how they'd link (maybe something like disqus), and it's not something we're actually going to do, i'm just curious.

keep talking everybody this is the Free Speech comment board and Cecile is in charge
  9:41am
βrian:

If my sugar momma gives me a hundred dollars, heck, I'd pay a hundred dollars.
  9:42am
Tom:

Is NYC the the Neil tix went in a split second to resellers. Not easy even getting a tic at face value. Criminal!
  9:43am
Cecile:

Yeah, man.

Hey, Jason, if you could find Time and Place by Groove Armada, it would be great. The greatest song the Eurythmnics never wrote.
  9:44am
postmanpaul (":

hi jason and all above. i'll take the west wing if its free (silly me) i mean available, annie!
jason, can you stretch your miiiiiind back to this?..... on your show a while back you featured - and prob' have since - a harlem youth percussion troup that may have been funded by a 'civic initiative programme...'? i'd like to research who was involved. and they were good!
  9:44am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Cecil , I owe this guy SO much that any price will be ok for me. It is thanks to him that I started playing guitar .

See this :http://en.smalltownromanceblog.com/how-bert-jansch-has-ruined-my-life-or-the-day-my-bass-guitar-almost-died/
  9:44am
hamburger / london:

Some tout offered to buy my spare ticket to Yelle for £50 - and I told him 'I'd rather give it to a fan for free' and then he got pretty pissed :D
  9:44am
Cheri Pi:

I'm on there and yes it would be ok. It's Cheri Pi both ways.
  9:45am
jason:

PMP yeah!

Cheri Pi:

Is this Belong a new recording? Love it.
  9:45am
Cecile:

Good for you hamburger.
Cheri, what's your Twitter handle. Mine's @dowdydiva.
  9:45am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

And would give my two kidneys to see Coltrane. Heck , if that happens, I wouldn't probably need them anyway.

And that Belong track is a killer
  9:47am
Cecile:

I saw Alice Coltrane, yair. I was doing drugs those days, but for that show i was sober and it was the most transportive show I ever saw.
  9:48am
Cecile:

Der, Cheri. Can't read.
  9:48am
glenn:

for guitarists - two words - george barnes.
  9:48am
Cheri Pi:

http://twitter.com/cheripi , I'm not a proactive tweeter but I do read them.
  9:49am
glenn:

cecile!?!? i'm shocked. shocked i say.
  9:49am
postmanpaul (":

cheers jason, i'm impressed :")
yeah, belong belong all right - did i really say that?
  9:50am
powiva:

grrrreat!
  9:53am
Cecile:

I am a musical omnivore with a fascination with the trainwreck that is Metallica. Also, they still do most of Master of Puppets live. So there's that.
  9:54am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Who is George barnes?
  9:54am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

real dc pat fc united:

saw the Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs last night--play/monologue here in DC--pretty hilarious and depressing stuff.
  10:06am
Cecile:

that sounds kind of great, dcpfcu
  10:10am
real dc pat fc united:

Mike Daisy, the monologue dude is fantastic. He details his addiction to Apple gadgets and slowly works his way into talking about his visit to the plants that make them in China--worse than 19th century Industrial Revolution conditions for the workers..
  10:10am
glenn:

george barnes is (very likely) the first guy to ever play an electric guitar, although there is some debate. he was an amazing guitarist, no debate about that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrsEkmQYg1A
  10:10am
Cheri Pi:

Is anyone going to their local Record Store Day this Saturday?
I'm not that excited about the specials (releases not band) but I will pick up Paid to Cum.
  10:11am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

  10:11am
