Listener comments!

  12:06pm office hour:

I'm first
  12:07pm dc pat:

YEAH BARRENCE!!!
  12:08pm dc pat:

Barrence is an amazing singer and a gentleman. Met him many times. Last time I saw him play, Deke Dickerson and band was backing him up--truly amazing.
  12:10pm Brian in UK:

My favourite Barrence title 'Stop Twisting my Arm I Already Love You'
  12:12pm Spankyflop:

Hey Joe, I just got my marathon pledge form. No 3 Chord Monte Premium? What Gives?!?
  12:13pm Cecile:

I missed Barrence. I have his first two albums. Great stuff.
  12:16pm Cecile:

And I've only heard lovely things about him as a person.
  12:18pm dc pat:

nice version of Hello I heart U
  12:21pm Spankyflop:

Don't worry, I'm still pledging anyway
  12:21pm dc pat:

Ah, I like the Doors...but I'm the only one.
  12:23pm Cecile:

I like about four songs of theirs. and Morrison Hotel, if you skip the hits, is pretty dang good.
  12:24pm TJ:

I like some doors ... morrison hotel has some good moments.
  12:28pm Cecile:

They were cooler before 80s AOR discovered them and played them into the ground. They were almost like a secret in the late 70s - they weren't getting played much anywhere.
  12:29pm Cecile:

So songs I used to like such as LA Woman got run into the ground to the point where I shudder when I hear the first few chords. And that's sad.
  12:29pm TJ:

And then there was that sweet movie ...
  12:30pm Cecile:

yea,that too.
  12:32pm zoot:

Ah, but can you beat Nico's version of The End?
  12:34pm still b/p:

Mid-70s FM presence was pretty heavy in my neighborhood for dem Doors. Riders on the Storm was considered primo tripping music by some folks I knew, and one friend could not stop singing, "Show me the way to the next whiskey bar..." at random moments.
  12:35pm office hour:

Mr. Mojo's Doors Christmas Medley:

  12:47pm dc pat:

  12:48pm Mike East:

Has anyone seen the episode of Ghoul a GoGo with the 5678's?
  12:49pm office hour:

  1:03pm seang:

Reigning Sound in Boston, tonight, yowza!
  1:06pm dc pat:

funny story about Thalia Zedek--saw Come play once and went up to talk to her after the gig. I had had a few (bunch of) beers and said something about how much I liked the show. She looked at me like I just threatened to blow up the club and slowly backed away from me, staring at me the whole time...
  1:07pm Lefty Parker:

The Baseball Project are playing in instore at Euclid Records in New Orleans(date not confirmed) ...but after TX
GO Guitar Lightning!
  1:22pm dc pat:

man, thanks Joe for getting GuitLightnin on the show.
  1:24pm Parq:

Gimmie another Dixie. (Actually, people tell me that Dixie is a lousy beer, but you know ...)
  1:25pm Joe B:

Abita!
  1:29pm Parq:

Make mine a draft, Joe.
  1:30pm Bad Ronald:

  2:31pm sans:

Ohio has great music!
  2:40pm columbus pat:

true...but central ohio has no wfmu, nor anything remotely resembling it.
  2:45pm pierre:

Super Show, merci Joe !
  2:59pm jag:

The only thing central Ohio used to have was Ohio State's student radio station The Underground (RIP). And it spent a large part of its existence as an online-only venture
