Back in 1979, I made the decision to accept Dr Demento as my personal savior. Since then, with the help of his apostles Spike, Al, Stan and Black-Eyed Susan Brown, I have made it my mission to spread the Gospel of the Firesign and the Word of the Waller. Please join me and my fellow seekers as we find the Wisdom we crave and the Rapture we deserve. A new sermon every Tuesday (and NO collection plate!).

IN THE BOOTH
|
From an album I have since packed away somewhere, whose name I can't recall, that's all about football. Mostly lame, it has its moments. Tom and Jay are both veteran TV writers and producers.

Here's where this music came from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKGKe1B4rBU NFL Films has a true knack for presenting the fluid grace that is football, despite being performed by overweight monsters.

HALFTIME SHOW
|
I had to take this from a tape of my football show of 1997, so you will hear a genuine, antique WFMU Station ID that was broadcast from East Orange, NJ. Ah, memories!

MERRY XMAS IN THE NFL

Jerry Buckner and Gary Garcia are from Akron Ohio. Best known for their Video Game Operas [Pac Man Fever, Froggy's Lament), this was their first recording (under the name Wiilis the Guard & Vigorish). Here's their Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckner_%26_Garcia

DAYS 9-12 IN THE NFL
|
From a totally obnoxious record (which I buried in my back yard, I think) that give different version of 12 Days for each of the NFL teams in the league in the mid-70s or so. It's the same orchestration with different names and gets old very quickly, as you can see.

Couldn't find anything on these guys (Why don't YOU look up 'Comittee' and see what you get), but they were fairly big in the 60s.
