A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

  Tue. 2/1/11 9:03am annie:

the snow is thick here, not heavy flakes, just thick wall of small flakes. and since 4 this am..still falling.. this is gonna be a doozy!
Tue. 2/1/11 9:04am Michael from Bay Ridge:

Hello Trouble!
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:07am glenn:

Good morning trouble.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:11am trouble:

very good glen, you are so very right! i just discovered her yesterday. as i scrolled through her lovely pix i noticed that there was not a snow scene to be had...and she lived in chicago, very odd indeed.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:13am trouble:

good morning richard from venezuela and michael from bay ridge: two parts of the world with very different weather right now, i imagine.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:13am glenn:

  Tue. 2/1/11 9:15am CheriPi:

G' Morning Ms. Trouble, thanks for melting my morning anxieties away.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:16am ffrr:

Hi Trouble &c. Bflo expects 12-15" overnight, that's about par for Feb. Sadenned by John Barry's passing. He was the go to guy back in the day, much like Desplat is now. There are moments of sheer brilliance to be heard from his canon. 'You Only Live Twice' OST is a fav. RIP
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:19am dale:

morning trouble. relaxing first set - perfect to watch the snow witha cat on my lap.

hey ffrr - were you around for the blizz of 77? THAT was snow event.
Tue. 2/1/11 9:20am Michael from Bay Ridge:

I don't think Richard has to negotiate around icy streets like we do here in here in Brooklyn!
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:20am glenn:

trying to listen to the show AND watch al jazeera at the same time is causing me some distress.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:21am ffrr:

Yeah Dale, I had a paper route and managed to keep delivering as long as they kept dropping off the bundles. As a kid, it was fun.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:26am dale:

i moved to nyc and laughed at how everyone panicked when there was an inch or two. i miss living in the rust belt
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:33am dc pat:

yeah, we're not having any snow right now. Screwed over again...
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:33am Kevin:

fuck snow! no snow here (sweden!) but it only just disappeared. fuck it!
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:33am BW:

there is no snow in my apartment trouble! and I have coffee but no doughnuts
Tue. 2/1/11 9:34am mikey in phx:

  Tue. 2/1/11 9:35am ttrrs:

Tue. 2/1/11 9:38am Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

any reason for the potty mouth? it's juvenile and NOT clever !!!
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:38am Jennique:

As far as my sex life with snow, the thrill is gone. It's stifling me now. I need some time apart.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:40am BSI:

I'm deeply flattered, snow, but I'm happily married. You must understand...
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:41am ttrrs:

A lot of people think snow is too cold. Frigid, even.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:43am still b/p:

Things got flaky...we seemed to drift...tough to get any traction...
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:43am glenn:

part of me agrees with tom, another part of me wants to tell him to take a valium.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:43am BSI:

Sure, she was cute, but as (im)pure as the driven (upon) snow...
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:44am Kevin:

Tom: sorry, but this isn't a 3rd grade school room.
Tue. 2/1/11 9:44am Richard from Venezuela:

Hot in Herre.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:45am ttrrs:

I'm drifting away from the judgment. The anger directed toward snow. So it is.
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:48am Magda:

After sitting in traffic for one hour kitty daisy is making my morning!
  Tue. 2/1/11 9:49am βrian:

  Tue. 2/1/11 10:05am glenn:

  Tue. 2/1/11 10:07am jill:

  Tue. 2/1/11 10:10am jojo:

  Tue. 2/1/11 10:12am Jennique:

Trouble - some of those photos were taken out west. I recognized some locations in San Francisco. But yes, NO SNOW PHOTOS. I like her even more for that.
Tue. 2/1/11 10:14am mr garcia (london england):

  Tue. 2/1/11 10:15am glenn:

  Tue. 2/1/11 10:17am pierre:

Bonjour le monde moderne !
Tue. 2/1/11 10:20am Adrian in London:

Afternoon, yes that Vivian Maier pic is great. There's a great piece from a Chicago TV news programme on the archivist's blog. It's a wonderful story but so sad that he wasn't able to track her down before she died.
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:22am βrian:

Comment fait-il là ou tu es, Pierre ?
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:33am trouble:

bonjour pierre!
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:35am Jennique:

  Tue. 2/1/11 10:38am pierre:

Il fait froid, (cold very very cold). And the sky is grey.
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:40am rosh:

enjoying the show but my mind's on Egypt. There's 2 MILLION ppl in Tahrir Square protesting & taking care of each other by sharing food, drinks, & making sure others around them are safe. Not sure how long this can last but for now it's awe-inspiring
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:42am grammar bitch:

everything has ITS place
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:44am listener gary:

I must be getting old. I go to bed on Monday night and wake up to TROUBLE, so it must be Thursday ...and there's two feet of snow on the ground and more coming down. Then I see that I missed the Ricky Nelson. Damn! He was so cute ...and so few people have the zazz to say so!! Best
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:45am glenn:

that should be punctuation bitch.
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:46am still b/p:

rosh - absolutely. Stirring and humbling. As with other similar people power surges, they initially had to accept the very real chance of being shot or tank-blasted in the streets, but they still came out and stayed.
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:48am annie:

whenever ricky nelson came on the teevee, i would absolutely swoon, dreaming he was singing to me..
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:50am grammar bitch:

(I multitask that way.) Love you, Trouble!
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:57am dc pat:

grammer bitch, do you know Ike?
  Tue. 2/1/11 10:59am trouble:

good one pat
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:03am Carmichael:

Sounds strange to say it out loud, but, "Good morning, Trouble. Glad to hear from you."
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:04am Parq:

Charm. that would be the B-side to "Good Morning Heartache". Coincidentally, I briefly met the author of that song last fall. He's just this guy, you know?
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:07am Carmichael:

I was thinking along the lines of Faron Young's "Hello, Walls", but either will do handily.
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:13am trouble:

bonjour carmichael, you too
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:13am glenn:

didn't willie nelson write hello, walls?
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:15am tomasz.:

this is really strange, but in a good way. btw hi Trouble!
Tue. 2/1/11 11:15am Adrian in London:

Hey has anyone seen the Argentinian film The Secret in their Eyes, or Leaving, in which Kristen Scott Thomas is absolutely amazing? The former is particularly recommended.
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:17am dale:

this liz brady has a real morricone vibe to it
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:18am don:

trouble! hi and thanks!
Tue. 2/1/11 11:19am aaron in chicago:

this imane homsy is unexpectedly christmassy
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:19am trouble:

hi tomasz, hi adrian
Tue. 2/1/11 11:29am Adrian in London:

Etienne Daho has an album out in France with Jeanne Moreau. He does the music and she reads Genet's Le Condamné a Mort.
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:30am trouble:

ooooh have you heard it adrian?
Tue. 2/1/11 11:31am Adrian in London:

No; I was in a Fnac in France last week and saw it, but plumped for the Biolay live DVD instead.
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:32am Detroit Mac:

Turning 60 - working at home - listening to FMU - life is like that.
Tue. 2/1/11 11:35am Richard from Venezuela:

Ramiro Musotto is a genius. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvxyYWO7lHM
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:45am trouble:

happy happy detroit mac!
  Tue. 2/1/11 11:47am Detroit Mac:

  Tue. 2/1/11 11:48am mb:

  Tue. 2/1/11 11:49am pierre:
