  9:16am annie:

http://www.pinkflag.com/assets/mp3/wire-two-minutes.mp3
  9:18am Andy in NS:

The Kimono is the clincher
  9:18am fcunmys:

Ken - Or,If you live in NYC you can get a copy of the
new Wire album at J&R Music World, Kim's, Rocket Scientist, Other Music or your favorite nearby indie record store. If you could stomach the walk that is.
  9:18am annie:

andy, i was just thinking that
  9:19am CheriPi:

No monkey picture can shock DTS. He created all of them.
  9:20am Ken:

fcunmys... lemmee get this straight. You are suggesting that I go to a physical record store and PURCHASE the new Wire CD? Is that what you're saying?
  9:21am Mark:

well I see the question re Wire has been answered, I ain't heard it yet
  9:22am Amanda UWS NYC:

yes, never enough snow. what can one do if one was programmed at an early age: one gets off from school, spends the day sledding down the hill until you have no feeling in any of your wet frozen appendages then goes inside to drink hot chocolate? one LOVES SNOW.
  9:22am fcunmys:

Yes, I am! So what about it! Too many downlaods means more blubber around the center of your soul, heart, arteries, etc. Go outside and do some walking, lazybones!
  9:25am CheriPi:

BT played a song from the Wire album yesterday, why doncha ask him nicely for his copy?
  9:26am Ken:

fcunmys - What a funny, novel idea!! I'm gonna DO IT! I'm gonna go to a record store today and put my money down for a copy of the new Wire Record!!
'
  9:26am Ken:

Cheripi, that makes a lot more sense. I'll go steal it from Brian's office.
  9:26am Mark:

(it's been out for 2 weeks)
  9:27am Cecile:

Ah, yes. "Neubaten: The Cabaret Years."
  9:28am fcunmys:

Good for you! And while you're down there, can you go purchase me the new Deerhoof album - Deerhoof Vs. Evil on vinyl for me please! I'd do it myself but it's snowing outside ;)
  9:28am annie:

cecile!! :)
  9:29am Cecile:

It broke 20 degrees here. I'm getting my flipflops out.

There is also a new Tonetta album. I haven't played it but 67% of the songs are about wangers.

ANNIE! How are you?
  9:30am annie:

fine, i'm fine.. landed a temp position cooking for a family.. i'm in heaven.
  9:31am hamburger:

watcha cookin? baked eggs?
  9:31am Cecile:

That sounds lovely. They're letting you have some leeway?
  9:32am BW:

They are no different than me! haha
  9:33am annie:

oh, yeah!! .. once in a while she asks for pizza or junk, so i comply.. it's a nice job. and i know the lady from loong ago.
  9:33am MD:

SNOW...WHAT'S NEW!!!!
  9:34am Cecile:

That's nice. And you can sneak some good stuff onto pizza.
  9:34am annie:

last night i made spaghetti sauce from scratch, night before was veggie fritters.. .. i'm having fun.. oh yeah, i add extra stuff to them.
  9:35am Mark:

goddamn second storm
  9:36am marq:

nothing big in the forecast for where I am in Vermont. Just some flurries. but it was 30 below zero the other day.
  9:36am annie:

today, i making a chicken stock..
  9:36am boop:

I can find franca potente on a map...
  9:37am Cecile:

I wroted this:
http://blogs.citypages.com/gimmenoise/2011/01/angry_bird_remi.php
  9:37am Aaron:

Morning All! ATP in Asbury Park this year!
  9:37am Lizardner Dave:

Wow annie, I have seen a chicken play tic-tac-toe but I have never seen one stock shelves. How did you train it?
  9:38am marq:

i made some beef tongue, whisky salmon, scottish style chips, and mushy peas last night and celebrated Burns night.
  9:39am annie:

dave, i had to tie the cans to it's bony wings and fling it up on the shelf. detach the cans and do it again.. they are very unco-operative
  9:39am CheriPi:

Cecile-this is my first time ever hearing about Angry Birds-I must be living under a rock of oblivion!
  9:40am Cecile:

I love me some beef tongue. A good authentic Mexican restaurant opened near me. I get a lot of "lengua" tacos there. Heaven.
  9:40am Cecile:

Either that or you have a life.
  9:41am Cecile:

Ah, Vicki and Ergo. So good.
  9:41am annie:

oh crap i added an apostrophe to its.. is ike around?
  9:41am hamburger:

MOAR FOOD
http://www.tastespotting.com/
  9:43am annie:

cecile, i'll read that later...
  9:43am Aaron:

awesome the angry birds article!
  9:43am marq:

tongues from sheep and beef are very tasty and tender. almost like prime rib. they must taste good because it is a tongue and the tongue is what tastes things.
  9:44am Cecile:

that makes sense, marq. LOL! They are like uber-pot-roast.
  9:45am Cecile:

thanks, Aaron.
  9:46am Robert:

The ani of the hands around the candle remind me ot a line from The Goon Show, where the Scotsman says, "Here, come warm yourself by this roaring candle."
  9:46am annie:

i used ground-up left-over bourbon balls and make a crisp pout of it with blueberry apple goop. with ice cream added, it was just like plum pudding!
  9:46am Neg-guh-tor:

I'm lovin' it!
  9:47am CheriPi:

Did someone say Bourbon Balls for breakfast?
  9:48am annie:

you betcha! with extra buttah!
  9:49am marq:

Robert Burns? that candle gif reminds me of an old Robert Burns joke. a couple of Scotsmen are smoking cigars and drinking asking each other about favorite poets and writers. one guy asks the other if he likes burns. the other says well yes of course! I love burns. the other guy proceeds to burn his hands with the cigar.
  9:51am Ken:

hahahahhaha I GET IT!!!
  9:51am Bill:

The Scots are kinda messed up.
  9:51am CheriPi:

I love this song-I wish we knew who it was really sung by-can someone use their Iphone to figure it out?
  9:51am -max-:

Morning all. Please spread the word around that R. Stevie Moore has started a Kickstarter Project to fund his next release here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rstvmo/r-stevie-moore Contribute enough and you could be on the new album. This has been an RSM public service er-nouncement. As you were...
  9:52am Dan B From Upstate:

Kuroita!
  9:52am Ken:

sorry. that was uncalled for.
  9:53am Ken:

CheriPi - I shazzamed it and the answer came back in Japanese!!1 artdeguydfwahfsahsa
  9:54am Lizardner Dave:

Re Scots: I belong to a curling club in the great state of New Jersey. We had our Robbie Burns dinner last Saturday complete with haggis, though a few guys from the old country say it isn't the same here because you can't use the lungs.
  9:55am annie:

wow, dave, hard-core.. i just have to HEAR the word haggis, and i run in the other direction
  9:56am CheriPi:

Ken-can you post the Japanese answer somewhere? I may be able to translate it.
  9:57am Aaron:

not haggis = http://tinyurl.com/25qgt2u
  9:57am Ken:

Cheri - I can email it to you.
  9:57am marq:

yes, Lizardner Dave. that is the case. because of the mad cow scare and the government not allowing certain parts like the brains. real haggis according to Burns has some brains in it. But some people in VT do it themselves with sheep from a local farm. just as long as it is not sold.
  9:58am northguineahills:

Crap, it's 10, I should mosey off to work.... Nice as always, Ken...
  9:58am Dan B From Upstate:

I knew there was a reason I never went to my local curling club. I always thought it was fear of not fitting in. Guess it's fear of haggis.
  10:00am marq:

after Burns night my job this morning is to listen to Ken's show. maybe drink the last bit of whisky left in the bottle.
  10:00am Bill:

How soon is now? Pretty soon!
  10:00am hamburger:

I think it just passed. Oh no wait, now it's passed. Oh no wait.
  10:01am Bill:

Wait for it.... NOW!
  10:03am marq:

when i lived in the Bahamas in the 3rd grade there was a very pretty girl named hope that i flirted with. wonder if i could find her today as an adult and mount hope
  10:04am blip:

please stop.
  10:04am Brian C.:

Ken, you stole my Joke! I knew a guy who married a gal named Hope, and I'd say, "Do you know where Michael went on his Honeymoon?" (I think your quip was funnier)
  10:04am Lizardner Dave:

Haggis is suprisingly...not bad. It isn't very good either. Basically it's a letdown - it tastes like slightly gamy meat loaf. Throw enough HP sauce on it and you wouldn't know it wasn't meat loaf. Hell, Taco Bell's "beef" is scarier than haggis.

Dan B - don't know where you are upstate but the Utica curling club folks are pretty nice and I hear the Albany club is nice too, though the membership is generally older.
  10:05am Bluto:

What happened when Napoleon went to Mount Olive? Popeye got pissed.
  10:07am boop:

just because one can comment, doesn't mean one should comment.... some boring shite goin on, yo....
  10:07am Dan B From Upstate:

Lizardner Dave: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utica_Curling_Club
Sounds like you've been?
  10:09am marq:

the snow fooling image looks like mexican lucha libre wrestling masks. i have one that looks like a scary clown and wore it on halloween with a suit and tie. the cops came because it scared the crap out of some teenagers.
  10:09am Neg-guh-tor:

Sigh gets a Satanic shout out in a book I'm finishing called 'Lords of Chaos'.
  10:10am Cecile:

I have that book. I have to read it.
  10:11am Mark:

watch out Taco Bell is taking legal action against the peeps who made that claim about their beef
  10:11am Christopher:

what's the story on that monkey pic?
  10:12am Maggie in Rock Tavern:

chiming in late with this, but Ken, here's a far more reliable way to keep an eye on the weather:
http://www.thefuckingweather.com/
  10:12am Neg-guh-tor:

Sigh has been arOund awhile! Good read. Good ideas......
  10:12am Mark:

the monkey is a photographer for Hustler magazine
  10:13am Lizardner Dave:

Dan B - I haven't,. but I have been to the outdoor curling event one of their members has on the lake behind his house. I have also met some Utica folks at events at other clubs.
  10:15am marq:

buy me a beer? makes me want to get on the next jet blue
  10:16am Aaron:

If we are there in spirit - do we still get the beer?
  10:16am tim:

BATTLEFIELD EARTH! Great/awful!
  10:17am Sam:

For a raisinette, I might come and endure the train wreck
  10:19am Goyim in the AM:

"Your Disk Jockey is in da sposed." I have never heard a bathroom called a "sposed" before.
  10:20am Ken:

Goyim, that is the type of joke that will get you banned from this forum.
  10:21am monica:

check thine inbox, ken!
  10:21am Ken:

Aaron, let me check on that..
  10:22am Ken:

No.
  10:23am tim:

Yes, check thine inbox.
  10:24am Goyim in the AM:

I am sorry. I will try to stick to threats of sexual harrassment against women named Hope in the future.
  10:28am perv:

hey, i got a spicy one: your disc jockey is in da spouse.
  10:29am marq:

your disc jockey is mounting hope
  10:29am tim:

Here we are.
  10:30am Mark:

Ken has acquired the new Wire
  10:31am fcunmys:

Was the indie store around the corner, Ken?
  10:31am Mark:

sounds pretty good
  10:32am CheriPi:

Ken popped out to his local during the stalling tape!
  10:33am marq:

that pug dog sledding gif is funny. would be even funnier if the pug dog had one of those cones around its neck.
  10:36am bennett4senate:

great map! some of these have gotta be per-capita tho
  10:37am Mark:

Mass. does have the worst drivers
  10:40am fcunmys:

Incidentally, for all those interested, Wire will be playing i the tri-state area coming in April:

Music Hall of Williamsburg Bklyn, NY - 4/5/2011 &
Bowery Ballroom, NYC on 4/6./2011.

Get your tickers now!
  10:41am Sam:

When they say NH is worst for corporate taxes, does that mean high or low taxes? I always thought NH had some of the lowest taxes, which is why companies locate there even though it's the middle of nowhere and cold.
  10:41am ?:

Another groovy show, Ken. Notwithstanding credit crunching penury, I would pledge prematurely to hear 'Never Argue with a German if You're Tired of European Song' remixed next time you're in a manic German mood. Can't say fairer than that.
  10:42am Sam:

I'm not surprised that RI has high drug use...maybe they'll be the first to finally legalize it????
  10:42am postmanpaul:

? was meself.
  10:43am marq:

why is it that a pug dog with a cone on its neck gets instant humorous pleasure? Same thing with midgets. Something in the human brain likes to see midgets or dwarfs and is humorously fascinated by them. One step up would be a midget with one of those cones. or a midget pug dog with a cone.sorry any midgets out there. I am short and have a big belly and a big reddish orange beard and look a bit like an orangutan. people think that is funny
  10:44am Elisa:

I LOVE Ken's show! It's so fun to listen to! ☺ I wish we had WFMU in Italy!!!!!!!!!!!! ☹
  10:45am Sam:

People like midgets because they look vulnerable. It's human nature to like things that we think we can dominate.
  10:47am Neg-guh-tor:

HAIL, SATAN!
  10:47am -max-:

I heard some Crowley in there! Love is the Law, Love under Will.
  10:48am Dickdong:

Anyone going to the 7th International Jews Harp Festival in Yakutsk, Siberia next June?
  10:49am Mark:

from the NH website "New Hampshire does not have a general sales tax or an income tax on an individual's reported W-2 wages. There are taxes on an individual's interest and dividends income, inheritance, business taxes, consumer excise taxes and other taxes as listed below. Fuel taxes are administered by the NH Dept. of Safety Road Toll office at 603-271-2311."
  10:50am fcunmys:

No, I think the snow would melt and vaporize upon contact being they're Statnists and all!
  10:51am fcunmys:

Fat snowflakes! Yay!
  10:52am Dan B From Upstate:

Lotta surface noise in studio b....
  10:56am Elisa:

Pope Benedict XVI is going to exile me for listening to Satan's...oops Ken's show....YEEHAW!!☺
  10:57am fcunmys:

Is that Romy Schneider with bangs?
  10:58am marq:

which state has the most midgets owning pug dogs?
  11:01am OM:

I seem to remember ticking that box on my census.
  11:01am Dan B From Upstate:

What's the best Bond song?
  11:01am Elisa:

Oh well, I will have to move to Oklahoma and add to the female outlaw population.
  11:01am Neg-guh-tor:

I sang 'You only live twice' at a karaoke bar in New Orleans very drunk in New Orleans last weekend. Cleared the damn room. I overheard a very young guy say, "this song is awesome."
  11:02am marq:

@ Mark: does NH have a tax on living free or dying?
  11:03am fcunmys:

Dan B - Goldfinger. All else is trifling.
  11:03am Mark:

yes absolutely
  11:05am fcunmys:

The time is now five anxiety attacks after remorse.
  11:06am listener monica:

like townes van zandt...
  11:07am marq:

also motorcycle helmets. no law in NH to wear them. sometimes people forget to don the helmets when they enter VT and get a ticket. VT should have a high tax on helmets to profit from NH motorcyclists needing a helmet.
  11:07am Elisa:

The time now is Indifference:nostalgia almost ectasy.
  11:09am Elisa:

After Oklahoma I'm heading to Washington State...I hear the pigs are quite sexy.
  11:11am Dan B From Upstate:

I have to wonder how there are so many deadly accidents in Wyoming. I spent a week there as a teenager (against my will). I'm pretty sure my family had the only car in the state the entire week we were there.
  11:12am -max-:

Getting back to the music, I love this Laughner tune.
  11:12am fcunmys:

Basically, all of you are North Dakotans. :)
  11:12am Ken:

Elisa - I dont know what time zone YOU are in, but here on the East Coast, it's Guilt Past Remorse. 45 Minutes before Epiphany.
  11:13am fleep:

It's twelve minutes past ecstasy here and I need a shower
  11:14am Elisa:

Actually, it's guilt past indifference post meridian.
  11:14am βrian:

Wisconsin is also an organ-donor state that way. I always thought helmetless riders should show proof of primo long-term disability insurance in order to ride. Otherwise, get your lid on or pay a huge fine.
  11:14am fcunmys:

Don't mind Elisa much. She was just watching the clock.
  11:15am kwhitehead:

I was born in North Dakota. What of it?
  11:15am fleep:

You don't have to have an eating disorder to sing this song, but it helps
  11:15am Goyim in the AM:

My watch says it's pearls before swine.
  11:15am OM:

At the tone, it will be guilt past remorse...
  11:16am fcunmys:

Suddenly, my arteires are clogging.
  11:16am justin:

sounds like lunch!
  11:17am fcunmys:

Brought to you by the New Jersy Dairy Farmers Association.
  11:18am kc:

wallace and grommet
  11:18am marq:

I have been making cheese, learning how, from raw milk from a local farm. have not learned how to make satan yet.sometimes satan is depicted with horns like a cow. maybe he makes milk too.
  11:21am fcunmys:

@ Nah! Satan can't be a cow. He'd have to do too much grass. However, carrion feeding crows do make a good Satan substitute.
  11:22am Josh RVA:

Satan: accept no substitutes. Especially seitan.
  11:23am marq:

maybe krampus makes milk. he has horns. maybe that is where the milk and cookies thing for santa came from.
  11:23am fcunmys:

How's about satin?
  11:24am fcunmys:

No! No! No! Too much milk and cookies can give you Krampus!
  11:25am PMD:

Yay! made it for a few minutes. Whaddi miss?
  11:26am marq:

when i was a little kid i saw an ad for a satin jacket in a magazine. i didn't know that it was pronounced different than satan and i told my mom i wanted a satan jacket. she said wha..whaaa..whaat?
  11:26am Elisa:

That Patsy Cline song could be Berlusconi's theme song,
