My dad took us to watch "Disorderlies" at the drive-in. Awesome. Oh, "Big Top Pee Wee" also played. Gigantically epic night.
|
Tue. 1/4/11 12:42am
Woody:
Disorderlies was definitely quite bad. Heard one of the Fat Boys is now like a fitness guru or something although sounds like good urban legend...

@coalhard: in case you like ephemera, the character before the "--i've" in your post is a consonant in the Thai alphabet.

Had new respect for Ringo after watching the 1964 Washington concert on iTunes... not sure if they still have it up for free, but definitely kicks out the jamz.

|
Tue. 1/4/11 1:13am
Joey K:
Gary Numan does amazing industrial/electronica/weirdo DJ sets in London these days. Bet he knows Heavy D, too.

He's alive! And pretty awesome. Been doing it intermittently for years now, mostly in London - but elsewhere, too! See you there.

Joey, trying to think of any particularly goth-y free jazz type stuff but can't think of anything that would count. New genre? Any suggestions folks?
|
Tue. 1/4/11 2:04am
Julie:
Ooh I'd like to know the answer to that one too

Joey K:
If only Siouxsie & the Banshees and Art Ensemble of Chicago had accidentally been double-booked in the Reagan-Thatcher era.... Think this might be a genre for the future. Oh, wait - isn't the future now? I've been hitting the dehydrated water pretty hard and am getting confused...
|
Tue. 1/4/11 2:35am
coalhard:
speaking of confused---there is breaking news out--i know this is not proper forum...we would rather talk about the music----but a plane was diverted a few minutes ago to canada because of nav problems--plus birds dropping out of air and fish die-off--i'm not religious but something strange is going on
|
Tue. 1/4/11 2:37am
Woody:
Plane diverted for communication problems doesn't seem like Jah.
|
Tue. 1/4/11 2:40am

|
Tue. 1/4/11 2:49am
Joey K:
Man, those frogs that freeze completely when touched and then come back to life after 15 minutes are great. I bet there's free-jazz goth in Germany. Somewhere in Germany it must exist. The amazing Sainkho Namtchylak used to roll with free jazz cats in her early days (and may still) - of course, she's far from goth, but not _too_ far....that throat singing stuff is always scary.
