You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Listener comments!

  Mon. 1/3/11 9:07pm Looms:

Best witches... erm... wishes for 2011, Mr Bodah!
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:08pm Rick:

Gather sticks. Arrange them in a way to disspell paranoia
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:08pm Dan B:

Hey Looms, same to you! Thanks for checking in...late night for you, eh?
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:09pm Dan B:

@Rick, definitely can't hurt
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:09pm Looms:

Vaycay is a magical concept, Dan.
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:11pm Dan B:

Ah, beautiful times Looms
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:11pm Seminal:

finally, something I can sink my teeth into!
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:13pm Dan B:

@Seminal, lots of meat on the plate tonight
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:23pm Looms:

This Lucas / Van Wissem is beautiful.
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:26pm Dan B:

@Looms, I've been a little obsessed with that record for the last year. I worry that I'm overplaying it on the show sometimes, but then I realize that most stations are airing the latest puerile synthetic confections passing for music an average of 20 times a day and I think, oh fuck it -- let's hear "If it does not fit, thou must acquit" AGAIN!
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:31pm Kat:

What makes WFMU wonderful is the various obsessions of the people on air. Obsess away.
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:32pm Looms:

There's no harm in supporting good records, so "fuck it" is the right attitude.
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:36pm Rick:

Dan, you needn't worry about overplaying things (my opinion). More often, I hear something bewitching, like Hiragi Fukuda (mis-spelled) and then they're gone from the air.
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:40pm Seminal:

that's it.. that's it.. take it to heart..
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:41pm cheri:

happy new year dan,,,how did you spend your new years eve?? also could you please play some abba?? i'll be listening!! thnx dan
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:42pm Damien:

I like how he says "feather"
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:53pm Dan B:

It's all heart. @Cheri, Abba, well jeez, I'll see if I can fit that in somehow. It's a challenge. For NYE, I was smoking jimson weed pods with Courtney Love, Charlie Sheen, and Paris Hilton. Then we built a base on the dark side of the moon for our alien guru to live in and fell in love with 100 Park Avenue in NYC. Then we got lost under the awning at Katz's Deli and had to flee the giant leeches until we arrived in the protective embrace of Gen. George Washington's manifestation in Union Square. Our avatars then continued on a mecca to the East Pole while we collected blue bottles from the Kayaderosseras Creek and tucked them under our sleepy pillows and drifted off.
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:55pm Kat:

  Mon. 1/3/11 9:56pm Seminal:

Kubla Khan?
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:57pm Looms:

Sounds like you had quite a party, Dan.
Mon. 1/3/11 9:59pm Richard from Venezuela:

Hi, nice show.
  Mon. 1/3/11 9:59pm Rick:

Hey Dan, It's nice to hear your references to upsala. I was a high school kid, and my all-time hero was a different Dan B- Dan Behrman, "The Immigrant". FMU just loves it's "Dan B's"
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:00pm Kat:

I'll take WFMU trivia for $400, Alex
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:09pm Christine:

you rock dan!
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:21pm Dan B:

@Rick, awesome. Yeah, there's also Daniel Blumin on alongside me these days, a fine maestro of the airwaves in his own right. @Richard from Venuzuela, thanks for listening! @Christine, thanks!
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:27pm Christine:

i finally remembered that your show is on monday nights now and i happen to be at my puter...good stuff brother mine!
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:27pm Looms:

I dig D Bo, D Bl and their "related dBs".
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:38pm Rick:

strangely soothing
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:44pm Dan B:

@Rick, yeah, I think that Mike Shiflet CD is so gorgeous. The popularity of my taste is revealed by the precipitous decline in online listeners during the track, however. Ah well, they don't know what they're missing!
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:47pm hellbilly13:

That was one awsome set!!
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:52pm cheri:

dan,,you can't find any abba tunes??
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:58pm Rick:

Moody Liz is magic under-heard by Capt. Beefheart, but I'd like a lag-time for my request, maybe 5-7 weeks, if you please. My Bro Jon and his wife had a wee tiny baby.
  Mon. 1/3/11 10:59pm Looms:

I fought tiredness and tiredness just won, i'm out of here. Thx for the amazing sounds, Dan, see you!
  Mon. 1/3/11 11:09pm Dan B:

@hellbilly13, thanks! @Cheri, I've found them but I'm not sure whether I know what to do with them. Trying to figure out whether/if I can work them in and how. @Rick, congrats on the little bug. @Looms, this one's to take you to dreamland -- O You, Who Are Sleeping...thanks for tuning in!
  Mon. 1/3/11 11:22pm Ike:

I nominate Dan's 9:53 answer to Ozzy's... oops I mean Cheri's predictable "what'd you do on New Year's Eve" question to be the best DJ comment of the week. Dan, you win a sack of beef hearts.
  Mon. 1/3/11 11:40pm Rick:

Loom, I know that feeling. Dan's on nights, so the most-often-lost part is the end of the show instead of the start.
BTW, Dan, what is this crackly, staticly bullshit?
  Mon. 1/3/11 11:41pm cheri:

well dan i gotta split now...it's been a wonderful show--thnx for your company,,and don't worry 'bout abba,,happy 2011 g'nite
  Mon. 1/3/11 11:45pm Dan B:

@Cheri, gnight my dear. @Rick, the bullshit was Karkowski & Churko -- beautiful in it's own way, as Dolly was ready at hand to remind us. @Ike, I'll take delivery of those beef hearts via mail: Dan Bodah, c/o Getting the Message to the People, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington DC 20500.
  Mon. 1/3/11 11:52pm Rick:

Dan, love your show always. Sorry for the fake irony re. karkowski/parton. I was acting jerky for the sake of being vocal
  Mon. 1/3/11 11:56pm Dan B:

@Rick, no offense taken of course!
