Listener comments!

  12:07pm
Elwyn:

What happened? I ducked out to the bathroom and when I came back, there wasn't sound in the live stream of Ken...
  12:08pm
OM:

Elwyn: it was time for Kurt. Ken fell short :(
  12:08pm
Andrew:

It's over. They busted the balloons.
  12:10pm
rosh:

twas a noble attempt & money raised for the best free form station around. Live to fly another day,Ken!
  12:11pm
37:

people are walking past my desk giving me the eye....
such cheesey drek....
the minature minotaur always keep you on your eardrum toes
  12:12pm
!:

AIR SUPPLY
  12:15pm
37:

i knew it was someone like that... thanks
its making my computer speakers play left channel only
i have to trace the lines to see whats up...
  12:16pm
BSI:

eardrum toes!
  12:17pm
OM:

37: same here, left channel only on that previous track .did Kurt say why? I missed it.
  12:19pm
DJ KG:

sorry, y'all. you're only getting half the air supply you need. turntables only playing one channel for some reason.
  12:19pm
frenchee:

Kurt, awesome segue from Kenflightfail to mini-minos!
  12:26pm
northguineahills:

Lovin' this Martin Baumgartner
  12:38pm
nynyny:

Can we hear Air Supply 800 times slower?
  12:39pm
marq:

so anticlimactic. kurt's show sounds good for this. will ken get back out there if for some reason they discovered people kept pledging and made the amount for the alofting.
  12:40pm
BSI:

Can't we all just get aloft?
  12:41pm
DJ KG:

if you keep pledging, i can pretty much guarantee ken will take flight!
  12:41pm
DJ KG:

bsi: HA!
  12:42pm
Pontius Pilate:

I would also like to hear Air Supply 800 times slower. Good call, nynyny.
  12:42pm
OM:

Bronwyn mentioned the possibility of getting Ken aloft if we keep donating.
  12:42pm
OM:

ah there we go. so donate, damn it!
  12:45pm
DJ KG:

look at it this way: he bought the balloons. and they're huge! he doesn't wanna not do this.
  12:45pm
marq:

yes. I didn't hear a last total. I wonder what they are doing outside with all of the stuff and left over helium. my 12 year old brain is going wild wondering what they are doing. or not doing.
  1:06pm
snafu:

does anyone know what the total pledges are so far? I wish i could listen but I can't!
  1:08pm
OM:

DJ KG: i guess it is. it's answering impoliteness with impoliteness; what a society we've made for ourselves!
  1:08pm
marq:

at one point I think I heard that it was close 120,000. but did not hear any after that. it is not a jerry lewis marathon though where you hear the amount every damn minute. glad for that i think.
  1:15pm
marq:

not very many people commenting on here. must be that everyone went out and blew their heads off because we didn't reach the goal.
  1:24pm
OM:

as I see it, as long as my favorite radio station gets the funds it needs to continue, I'm happy -- whether or not Ken leaves the ground
  1:24pm
BSI:

present!
had to gnaw on a chickpea or two.
back for some good noise and the lingering aroma of helium....
  1:26pm
Pontius Pilate:

Grey Daturas is killing it. Great tune.
  1:26pm
Cecile:

No, I actually have work.
And I pledged.
  1:27pm
Robert:

Doesn't this seem a bit unfair, Mr. Gottschalk upstaged on his own comment thread by the opening act? Even if it is the guy primarily responsible for Mr. Gottschalk's being on the air, and everyone else's program, and even if that guy was threatening to risk his life, and even if music is the sort of thing you can enjoy without paying full att'n to, don't we owe our present DJ a little more respect?
  1:28pm
DJ KG:

awww, heck robert. i'm happy to soundtrack your ken loving.
  1:32pm
Cecile:

I will miss them live, but Joe McPhee with a guitarist? That's always good. I love his stuff w/ Raymond Boni.
  1:39pm
Cecile:

Hells yeah. Got any Satyricon?
  1:40pm
DJ KG:

satyricon never quite did it for me for some reason
  1:41pm
Pontius Pilate:

Once again, this is more or less a perfect prelude to my 3pm conference call.
  1:43pm
Cecile:

That's cool.
Hail Safeway!
  1:45pm
Pontius Pilate:

That right there is the best radio transition I've heard in awhile. (And I've heard some good ones.)
  1:50pm
Cecile:

Ah, yes. The 70s where the rock journeymen made their big sellout album and lived happily ever after - Boz Scaggs, Steve Miller, Dave Mason, Peter Frampton, Supertramp...
  1:58pm
BSI:

That CD reissue of Disco 3000 is some gorgeous packaging...
  2:03pm
marq:

From various sources I get records that are to be sent to the dumpster. I recently got a Peter Frampton Live. I always collect anything that was recorded live. I messed around with the Framptom album and had a really good time with the parts when he does the thing with his mouth machine or whatever it is. reverse it speed it up, skip it, slow it way down...fun...whaa...whaa.whhaaa..wrrraaahw..show me the way...heya hey.
  2:10pm
dale:

hello mr. deejay. the dave mason album was 'let it flow' from 1977. i just graduated from high school and sent off to get my five albums or 8 tracks or cassettes for a penny from the columbia record club and that was one of my selections. i was then stuck getting crap for a year becasue there catalog was abysmal.
  2:15pm
northguineahills:

Definitely ketamine disco....
  2:21pm
northguineahills:

Lester Bowie???...., I thought this was that brass band that plays in Union Square....
  2:45pm
Cheri Pi:

I'm going record shopping in Japan in May, can't WAIT!
  2:50pm
Cecile:

this is delightfully nuts. I must leave for a meeting, but thanks for the big finish, Curt!
  2:56pm
northguineahills:

ahhh..., I picked up this Eliane Radigue at Phil Niblock's place last year.... superb!
  2:58pm
OM:

awesome set KG, EBS and all :)
  2:59pm
Pontius Pilate:

Another great show. Loved it.
  3:00pm
nynyny:

Thanks.
