The lazy calm at the week's start. A few live performances included, but mainly music with an ear tilted toward string-driven things.

Live performance and chat with Jim Kweskin & Geoff Muldaur |
||||||
| When he founded the seminal Kweskin Jug Band, the group's Old-Timey stance was rooted in Jim Kweskin's encyclopedic knowledge of traditional folk song and guitar-work, music he still plays today. Geoff Muldaur, one of the founding members of the Jug Band, has enjoyed a healthy solo career which encompasses writing, producing and performances with multiple instruments and his beautiful, clear tenor. Kweskin and Muldaur joined Irene in the WFMU studio mid-tour for some song and chat. | ||||||

raised on John Prine by my parents - stirs so many memories - he seems especially gifted at writing honest lyrics on difficult topics - best compliment i am aware of him receiving is adoration from Bob Dylan | |
