That Slits tune is amazing. I gotta get that album--listened to it a million times but never owned it. Thanks! So long Ari.
  Wed. 10/27/10 12:23pm Steve Barton:

Kurt: Do you have a two-letter code for your shows in the WFMU archive? This drone is working for me this morning -- thanks Phil!
  Wed. 10/27/10 12:27pm Looms:

Nice piece.
  Wed. 10/27/10 12:28pm jan:

  Wed. 10/27/10 12:29pm adz mix 2010:

  Wed. 10/27/10 12:37pm Steve Barton:

Ah, it is KU. Drive on!
  Wed. 10/27/10 12:39pm Emile:

Reminds me of yves klein's monochrome symphony.
  Wed. 10/27/10 12:52pm jan:

we are singing along here.
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:20pm osvi:

The M.M.'s give me the power to scare the stuffy librarians at my job and impress the cute receptionist! Thanks, WFMU!
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:25pm Carmichael:

This music is too hep for me. I should be walking down the street be-boppin' and snapping my fingers.
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:33pm annie:

that funky blues was sweet as pie!!
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:42pm Cecile:

I enjoy this a lot. I also enjoy Sidney Bechet leading his combo in the thrash-metal version of early jazz - super fast and technically amazing.
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:44pm ang:

I missed Phil Niblock! But I will definitely listen to archive. I'm one of those who have been to his Centre St loft to see his durational films and sounds. Great artist!! And lovely human being.
Kurt love your playlist (Slits & Niblock and more on one show!) so far and will listen to the entire show again. Will continue listening live now.
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:44pm Cecile:

Mr, Niblock, if you had a jazz show, I would most certainly listen and enjoy as much as your experimental recordings.
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:47pm ang:

whoa..Phil is still on and being a DJ. Love that we are hearing his jazz choices and hearing his info.
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:49pm Cecile:

Yes! Don Byas!
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:50pm Cecile:

Blowing contest!
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:50pm travis:

request: a little Lester? great show guys...
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:52pm ela:

Great Coleman Hawkins!
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:53pm Looms:

Gotta go. Thanks for the tunes and fragments of history, Phil and Kurt.
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:56pm steve:

sorry if this was already discussed, but does phil see a clear relationship between jazz + bebop and his own extended drone pieces?
  Wed. 10/27/10 1:58pm Cecile:

Didn't Air (w/ Henry Threadgill) do Jitterbug Waltz?
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:01pm noah:

loving fats playing the organ
Wed. 10/27/10 2:02pm Listening Out There:

Think I heard once that the organ was Fats Waller's favorite instrument...which would be amazing, considering what a great piano player he was...
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:03pm Parq:

What Noah said. Just joining the club, don't actually know if this is where the whole show has been, but defiinitely enjoying this direction for now.
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:03pm frenchee:

wow, this organ playing is blowing my wee mind. And Phil's a cool interviewee!
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:34pm marq:

I happened to take some of the day off and work some from home today. Never listened to this show or would ever had tried to listen with archives. Seems like Kenny G should be on the air right now. But I like this. Also noticing that there are several people who post quite often on other shows. almost like all of the time. like every show these people are always online posting. Parq, DC Pat, wish I could have met you guys at the record fair. But really, why is it that you two are on every damn listener comments?!!
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:37pm noah:

i like The Mooche and i think i just learned a new word...the lazy trudging sound of Ellington's Mooche nicely captures the other meaning of mooche, other than to cadge or steal, which is to aimlessly or listessly move or walk about, to wander. How beautiful
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:41pm Louisville Dan:

Totally digging this show in L-ville, KY!
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:47pm annie:

great show kurt, so glad to have you on in the daytime.
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:50pm ela:

Thanks Phill and Kurt for playing great music!
  Wed. 10/27/10 2:58pm Parq:

Do I post too much? I'll take your comment to heart, Noah.
  Wed. 10/27/10 3:00pm noah:

No, Parq you don't post too much. I am an ardent opponent of web oppression. Post on, Parq. Fear nothing, Be moved. That's it.
  Wed. 10/27/10 3:02pm silver:

what a great show. lets do it again
