I'm here and listening... Hi Betsy!
  7:10pm
jimmm:

Loved the Davis Sisters. Still looking for a copy of Skeeter's version of "Walk Softly" that Laura Cantrell played a couple of times.
  7:11pm
Betsy:

Hey y'all!! Chaotic night tonight. Glad you're here. Oops! Wiggly record
  7:22pm
Ike:

Ha, this Wanda Jackson track has some awesome lyrics.
  7:26pm
Dave:

So much good advice, in the cautionary tale form... I love it. This familiar stuff informed my Southern youth! Thanks so much for getting the Crawford # right.
  7:27pm
rusty beltway:

Hey, congrats on getting a slot on 'FMU.
  7:28pm
Betsy:

Hey errbody! Thanks for checking in.
  7:29pm
rusty beltway:

This is one of the best Jones songs ever. EVER.
  7:35pm
rusty beltway:

What's the B-side of "Out of Control" It's not "Mr. Fool", is it?
  7:36pm
Betsy:

Hi Rusty! It's called "Just Little Boy Blue". On Mercury Records, around 1957 or 58.
  7:37pm
Hugh:

Hello Betsy!
Another great show! To Dave: you suthners ain't the only ones to have your youth shaped by C & W. Some of us northerners were raised on these good ol' sounds. I was in heaven, when I could pick up The Grand Ol Opry on my old Hallicrafters radio!
  7:41pm
Dickel:

Loretta always knew the score...
  7:42pm
Dickel:

Great Show, I liked that Gene Watson number...
  7:43pm
seang:

Cheers DJ Betsy, your show is an absolute delight

rusty beltway:

Hugh: I grew up in eastern PA, not too far from Scranton or WFMU for that matter. We got WWVA from Wheeling. My 10 yr old mind was warped forever by hearing Red Sovine.
  7:43pm
Betsy:

Dickel! Are you on the airwaves or the interweb? Anyway, good to see ya, and yes Loretta knows where it's AT!
  7:47pm
sprout:

some nice country-soul from the ladies tonight, thanks!
  7:47pm
Dave:

Due respect, Hugh. Its only the fact I was born in the Yankee North (where I now live and work) -made me realize how sweet the music really was! I even have friends and relations in Canada who worship the sound. Some are probably hearing this online right now (I hope!)
Thanks, Betsy!
  7:52pm
Dickel:

I was wondering where Gram got that one from...
  7:54pm
rusty beltway:

Harlan Howard wrote "Image of Me". I first heard it done by Doug Sahm.
  7:56pm
Hugh:

Respect right back atcha Dave. To Rusty--I loved WWVA myself, That station was an easy one to pick up
  7:57pm
rusty beltway:

50,000 Watts, Hugh!
  7:58pm
Betsy:

Bye everybody! Seeee ya next week. ;)
  7:59pm
rusty beltway:

Thanks Betsy. I'm so glad I checked in w/ 'FMU tonight. I love this stuff!!!!!!

Steve McGuirl:

Rusty-
Wayne Kemp wrote "Image of Me." It was a big hit for Conway Twitty in, I think, 1968. The version we played on the show is Kemp's original on JAB records. For some reason--prob'ly because he wrote a song with the same title--it's credited wrongly to Harlan Howard sometimes, like on the 2nd Burrito Brothers LP and on the Doug Sahm CD. Whatever...it's a wonderful song, and I'm just glad someone was listening! Thanks.
