  4:26pm
paul b:

A polite rant-ette
After Irene played a Kendra Smith song I had a notion to ask someone to play that Clay Allison song "Fell from the Sun." Clay Allison being an idea of a band Dave Robacks later brought to final fruition with Hope Sandoval. I figured WFMU would have that as a single. I used the Firefox add-on that searches through the WFMU db to see if a song has been played and saw that it has already been played earlier this VERY day by someone named Frank O'Toole and I missed it. I will now have to go to the archive at some point to listen to this.
  4:26pm
lupica:

Good, good. Glad we are all on the same page here.
  4:28pm
Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

  4:37pm
Answerbag Sez::

45's had a bigger hole so you could hold them with your thumb or finger without touching the grooves. 10 and 12 inch records were too big for that .
  4:37pm
Cecile:

THE Idris Muhammed?!??! Wow.
  4:38pm
BSI:

I just did something pretty dreadful in my booger boots.
  4:38pm

das racist is pronounced like a young black teenager saying yo, das racist!
  4:56pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I kind of figured that but I've never heard anybody pronounce it before.
  4:58pm
Scott:

Yeah, I'm with DCE. Also, don't have the balls of the late great Barbara Billingsley when there's live mics
  4:59pm
BSI:

...you will never meet another grizzly bear...
  5:30pm
Cecile:

this is really a horrifying song.
  5:32pm
Scott:

I dunno, seems pretty typical. Or do you mean "bad"? Then I just plain disagree; great song great version!
  5:34pm
Cecile:

No, the Hermit song. It was a good song, but the subject matter was very upsetting to me.
  5:35pm
Scott:

Ohhhhh.... yeah, I can see that.
  5:38pm
Cecile:

Very chilling.
  5:39pm
dale:

a fine program mr. dj. and as it's time for my cocktail i'm getting tears in my beers with this old c&w
.
  5:40pm
Salt The Earth:

It's sort of a catch-22, really. If your first instinct is to pronounce the 'das' auf Deutsch, you're a racist. If your first instinct is to pronounce it "correctly" by imitating "yessuh massa" pronunciation, you're also a racist. The lesson of this story is something which Adult Swim intuited a while ago: There Are No People, Only Stereotypical Racists/Racist Stereotypes.
  5:41pm
Scott:

werd up salt
  5:42pm
Scott:

here's to you Dale, next up
  5:43pm
Salt The Earth:

So... the trick is to recognize the 'trick question' and just call 'em The Racist? :D
  5:45pm

ooh schotth, thish ish whats i'm - i'm- i'm talllking abouth
  5:46pm

A roommate I had a few years back owned the 10 Little Bottles album on 8-track!
  5:48pm
dale:

  5:49pm
