Listener comments!

  12:54am
osvi:

Joe, thanks for the beats to party with. Best Coast represent!
  12:57am
Joe McG:

Thanks, osvi! Nice to have you along for the ride, bumpy as it may get!
  1:00am
sara:

really digging the show
  1:03am
Joe McG:

Thanks for checkin' in, Sara, mucho appreciado!
  1:58am
Matt from Springfield:

Good way-past-evening, Joe! Finally got the chance to listen in live! Single file's going great--and I thank you!
  1:59am
Joe McG:

No, Matt, thank YOU! Don't those Stax 45s just SOUND great?
  2:02am
Matt from Springfield:

I sure miss the sound of them--I looked up Sharon Tandy after you played her, and found she actually recorded for Stax! But I don't see "World" on her Wiki discog (it only lists UK singles). Make sure to list the A- (or B)-side at the break!
  2:13am
Matt from Springfield:

Thanks Joe, didn't know that was a Bee Gees song! I always listen to you in the Archives (usually to get through those MONDAYS), so it's nice to chat with you on your own show for a change!

(I COULD enjoy Single File as much as you did if I could ruffle through 45s while hearing it!) <grabs and shuffles random records around>
  2:14am
Matt from Springfield:

Label GM foods! The problem is that it's also hard to tout that your food ISN'T GM--and yes, I always enjoy your atypical PSAs as well!
  2:16am
Joe McG:

Yes, Matt, I agree that all listeners should play with their 45s as they listen to my program. Especially while they are eating their genetically modified fish. Glad to have you along LIVE!
  2:22am
Joe McG:

Oh, BTW, Matt, I just realized you wanted to know the B-side of that Sharon Tandy single. It's "Fool on the Hill." Don't know if this single came out overseas. Mine is a promo copy.
  2:25am
Matt from Springfield:

What else is there to say--you're the man, Joe! (Now in the UK, it says the B-side was "For No One". Gettin' by with a little help from her friends there!) Thanks!
  2:27am
Joe McG:

Sharon was diggin' the Beatles, wasn't she? I don't know if she had a hit with any of these, though.
  2:49am
Matt from Springfield:

This sounds FAMILIAR. I probably heard this in WFMU-Land somewhere; is this the original artist? A cover?
  2:50am
Joe McG:

It's a Lou Reed cover. Back to that guy again! "The Bed" is from "Berlin," that non-stop laughfest.
  2:51am
Matt from Springfield:

That's it! That's the record!
That was just the right level of "creeped out" for this time of morning!
  2:54am
Joe McG:

Yeah, sorry about that, Matt. I sort of meant to play "3 Piece," but for some reason that LP is super difficult to cue. Don't slash your wrists!
  2:55am
Matt from Springfield:

I am now super-intrigued about Vertical Slit though, so try to play 3 Piece next week.

Thanks to you from all the Night-Owls! Have a good week!
