The daily commute is why I left the big city 30 years ago... my commute here, to my office "on the other side of town", is only ten minutes. Twelve during rush hour, lol.

Yeah, that's the good part of small town life. I just moved to Whitehorse from Vancouver 7 months ago. So far I've been pretty stoked about the experience but about a week ago I was at the library. It's got a pretty small selection and I got this funny feeling like, Holy shit, I'm in the middle of no-where.

A lot of books are out of print though and not available as e-books either. Although I took the library for granted 90% of the time when I did live in the city.

I've got Winterpeg about two hours north and Minneapolis about five hours south. So, slightly better concert/cultural situation here, though it's still a bit of a haul. And culture in both places isn't quite NYC, lol

Can you get interlibrary loan there? Used to be able to get just about anything through the library that way, and free, but that was a lot of years ago.

You can but it's the Yukon Library! The population of the Yukon is 34,246 and 25,000 live in Whitehorse!
