  Sun. 6/20/10 8:22pm dale:

love the stories. my father built us a go kart in the 60s out of a car steering wheel, plywood, hard rubber wheels, a rototiller engine, some belts and pulleys, a foot pedal and an old kitchen chair withh the legs cut off. we had a blast with it and it sounds corny, but we had fun even though we didn't have a lot.

The song you played by Cibelle, "Underneath the Mango Tree," was featured in the James Bond film "Dr. No," and it's been stuck in mind since I first heard it. Lovely cover, thanks.

When my dad was about twelve, he built a pipe bomb which went off in his hand. He lost three fingers. After that I guess he changed, because he was righteous about right and wrong. He also was able to distract people in a way that they knew him for years and never noticed his deformed hand. I miss him.
