Sun. 6/13/10 7:22pm Don (trip dub):

Ola Monica - Report from the field - Bernie Worrell solialybrium plays like Chambers Bros. meets Jimi. 'Stupid Stupid' on the mark. Maxine Brown sings and carries herself like a 28y.o. Soul songstress. Neville Crawford mixed afrobeat and NOLA almost seemlessly.
  Sun. 6/13/10 7:24pm Marmalade Kitty (:

Afrique: "Afro-Eurasian eclipse"-1971

Sun. 6/13/10 7:40pm Don (trip dub):

OK boss. Better than reporting to Lou Reed, King of Mermaids. The B52 guitar riff (played on a 3-string guitar) builds beautifully. Like the Devo synth record that year.

Just how many versions of "I Want To Be Sedated" have you found? Is the glockenspiel one generally recognized for real?
  Tue. 6/15/10 6:42am dave rankin:

Belated greetings from Bochum Germny. I've got the morning off here and I've decided to give your show a try. I'm most impressed by the ellington track up till now ...it's so weird that I thought I was listening to SUN RA!!....this lakilki track playing right now is so irritatingly subliminally crackingly great I can hardly believe it...keep up the good work.
  Tue. 6/15/10 4:01pm monica:

hi dave, thanks for checking in from germany. that ellington track strikes me too. he was ahead of the pack even in 1971 (when that was recorded)....hi michael, just that one. it's by the nutley brass. fun, huh?...
