Listener comments!

  9:40am
thiago:

hangover! not going to work today. yay.
  9:47am
bobw:

i'm having a hangover free show! whoo hoo!
  9:54am
postmanpaul:

good afternoon bob from the UK. I liked the bike info, it was my kind of wfmu announcement, and 'spoken' with a straight face too!
  9:58am
Lizardner Dave:

I have a slight hangover and am worried about the Habs.
  10:05am
bobw:

regarding habs, i'm actually a lot more comfortable than i'd expect with them being down 1-3 games. remember - they've survived FIVE elimination games this playoff season against MUCH better teams.
  10:06am
dc pat:

slight hangover here too but I mostly rode it off. It's amazing what a brisk ride will do for you.

Man this song is great. It's so.....something....
  10:08am
SmallyBiggs:

What's that song that goes some thing like "my momma always told me not to travel into space, but I did, I did, I did..". I've heard on wfmu before, but I can't find it anywhere :(
  10:09am
postmanpaul:

...and there i was thinking that lizardner dave's ref to 'habs' was a colloquialism for absenteeism.
  10:13am
dc pat:

oh man, that weird Lolita music....I feel icky now.
  10:23am
SiHV:

I've long wanted to make the bike commute from Tarrytown to my job in lower Manhattan but I must admit I'm intimidated by some of the narrow and busy streets in Yonkers and the Bronx. If I could just make it to the West Side bike path, I'd be home-free. But....
  10:27am
still b/p:

"If I could just make it to the West Side bike path, I'd be home-free."

'At's a song waitin' right there.
  10:30am
postmanpaul:

nice to here joe's cycling tips frank, we're lucky here in Brighton UK 'caus the local council is very sensitive to cyclists needs. many cycle-only lanes have been designated along busy thoroughfares in central brighton. one-way streets also have cycling lanes here to allow dual direction travel. my tip would be to have a rear-view mirror attached to the handle bars.
  10:32am
dc pat:

I got in a shouting match w/ a guy in a truck this morning in Georgetown. Turns out he was right, I was wrong. dammit. I think I'm going to look for him tomorrow to apologize...
  10:32am
Mebob:

..."I've really had it with my dog: He'll chase anyone on a bicycle"
"So what you going to do -leave him at the dog's home? Give him away? Sell him?
"No, nothing that drastic, I think I'll just confiscate his bike!"
  10:34am
bobw:

i had a bike mirror many years ago, when i had a weird neck kink that wouldn't go away. i asked the bike shop girl if she could recommend a good mirror. she said, "er... why don't you just turn your head?" NICE dog/bike joke!!!
  10:37am
mike noble:

hey bob, i hope no one has spread a sand like substance outside the studio today. watch your skates! get someone to spread some towels on that stuff!
  10:38am
Jimm:

WoW. What a cool cover...
  10:41am
Mebob:

Why can't a bicycle stand up on it's own?
  10:46am
bobw:

bah! that sand story is ridiculous. i don't buy it. the habs suffered the same situation.
  10:48am
Mebob:

...Because it's too tyred! :0
  10:52am
bobw:

ok... no more bike jokes.
  11:00am
dc pat:

I like the two tyred joke!
  11:01am
bobw:

yeah... i'm embarrassed to say that it's the kind of joke that i'd make.
  11:12am
Jennique:

This singer sounds like Liz Berg.
  11:15am
EzSez:

Polish saying: Piwo w ranie jak smietanie. Beer in the morning, just like cream.
  11:23am
north guinea hills:

The Poles are wise, too bad I'm lactose intolerant.
  11:26am
paul:

bowelry ballroom!!! i'm surprised i never thought of that
  11:26am
dc pat:

I have an old saying: coffee in the AM; beer in the PM
  11:29am
north guinea hills:

This French Resistance song is is daft and wacked, and put a smile on my face.

dcpat (i gave up coffee :( )
  11:31am
Carmichael:

The way I feel right now, I'm about to give up beer.
  11:31am
Marshall Stacks:

@SmallyBiggs: better a late answer than none. That's "Space Girl" by Shirley Collins. http://www.shirleycollins.co.uk/.
  11:35am
dc pat:

ngh: man, bet that hurt. guess it's beer in the AM for you then

Carm: WHAT?! Don't get crazy now...
  11:42am
north guinea hills:

@dc pat: It did hurt, but now my GI tract is much healthier. But just like when I quit smoking, it made me drink more beer. A beer in the AM isn't unheard of if I had a late night.
  11:44am
Ben Franklin:

Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy.
  11:46am
dc pat:

Light beer is proof that god hates some people
  11:53am
Bad Ronald:

Happy May Two Four!
  12:27pm
Ron from NJ:

Thanks for making my morning work go by more smoothly with this great music selection.
