  Mon. 5/10/10 12:58am Billy Jam:

  Mon. 5/10/10 1:09am DJ KG:

  Mon. 5/10/10 1:28am slugluv1313:

WOW! i literally *just* remembered that Mr. Romero is your special guest tonight and QUICK! ran to turn computer and radio on and lo and behold! RIGHT THAT SECOND you are beginning the interview! (INFINITE THANKS to Thee God/dess of Thee Living Dead!!!)
  Mon. 5/10/10 1:42am DJ KG:

hey slug - glad you made it! you going to the premiere Saturday? ("Survival of the Dead" at Brooklyn Academy of Music)
  Mon. 5/10/10 1:46am Martha:

Kilslug!
  Mon. 5/10/10 1:56am slugluv1313:

hey Kurt! glad that i tuned in just in time too! THANK YOU for such a fun interview (oooooo SHIVERS over the mere thought of a Broadway musical version of ANY of the "Dead" films!) and probably *not* able to go to premiere -- but who knows, *must* invoke thee power of positive ZOMBIE thinking . . . speaking of which, i SO appreciate the discussion about the difference between zombies (from Caribbean traditions) and Romero's un-dead!
  Mon. 5/10/10 2:00am Billy Jam:

man that was so cool getting to talk to George Romero - seems like a real cool down to earth guy - thanks for doing that Kurt!
  Mon. 5/10/10 2:01am angelicaw:

Man that interview made my night!!! I love that Romero dislikes running zombies, although I must point out the people in 28 days later, not zombies, they were infected. Even called them that in the movie. I think he mentioned that though.
  Mon. 5/10/10 2:08am DJ KG:

thanks billy j!

and hey, angel claw. yeah, he makes the distinction. he's also a big fan of "sean of the dead." my speech mighta slurred a bit when i said the title during the interview. i thought '28 days' was a cool movie myself, just not much to do with romero's undead.
  Mon. 5/10/10 2:13am Joe:

The most important distinction to make between Romero undead and all other types is that Romero undead are not VIRAL. It doesn't matter how you die - EVERYONE who dies in a Romero movie comes back as a zombie, regardless of cause (unless that cause involved destruction of the brain). HIs zombie bites are fatal, but are not the cause of re-animation.

That always made alot more sense to me - if a horde of zombies gets you and eats you, aren't you going to be too eaten to become an effective zombie? The whole thing would burn itself out. But if -everyone- recently dead came back as a zombie all at once, shit would get out of hand pretty freakin' quickly, I tells ya.

great job with the interview!
  Mon. 5/10/10 2:14am Joe:

also, props for not mentioning that The Crazies remake, which was extremely disappointing.
  Mon. 5/10/10 2:51am DJ KG:

Thanks, Joe!
