Assuming that Buzzy Linhart is still alive, why wouldn't he update his bio to show what (if anything) happened from the 1980s thru the present (besides trying to pick up my sister's college roommate on the railroad)...

Peter K.:

Always a pleasure (and a surprise) to hear Miles Davis on WFMU. I love "In a Silent Way." But for the record (no pun intended), Side 2 of the original LP did not consist of a single song. It began (and ended) with the piece that gave the album its title, which was written by Joe Zawinul; the long jam called "It's About That Time," credited to Davis, was a separate performance (and almost certainly recorded at a separate session).
  5:17pm
Irwin:

I defer to Peter, but the CD has only two tracks , each with bi-partite titles. Each side consists of multiple edits by producer Teo Macero. They're almost suite-like.
  5:19pm
PMD:

Very nice Miles Davis peace.
  5:22pm
blue woogy:

luvn this miles
  5:30pm
Peter K.:

Both sides of "In a Silent Way" were the product of multiple edits by Macero (some of them pretty easy to spot), but Side 2 definitely consisted of two separate pieces, albeit melded together. The title "Shhh/Peaceful" definitely implies that Side 1 consisted of two separate pieces as well, but it doesn't sound that way to my admittedly unsophisticated ear.

I loved the David Friedman piece, by the way.

Michael C. Anton anton:

Buzzy Linhart is living in Berkeley CA.
He is busy re-issuing some recordings, and is involved in the medical marijuana movement. Buzzy Rocks !
