Listener comments!

Alex:

What a great start to your set. Excellent tune.
  3:04pm
north guinea hills:

I was really suspicious of this Kronos album, but every track has delivered.
  3:21pm
johnny:

May I ask, suspicious of what?
  3:26pm
michael:

Hello from Germany, a bit lazy by an 11 month son. Tuning in for a while to come down and went to sleep. Nice Track from clogs. Never heard but very fine.
  3:28pm
north guinea hills:

Suspicious it would suck as being packaged and branded as "World Music Fusion." Some of the more recent Kronos releases made me wince.
  3:30pm
Hugh:

Good Afternoon, Irene!
The music fits the mood of the day, I absolutely love a rainy Monday, with your show! Enjoy your April! The May flowers will greet your return to the airways. (Kronos never makes me wince)
  3:31pm
em:

i'm with you on that one, ngh. the track irene played was gorgeous though, i'll have to check out that album.
  3:35pm
Looms:

Hello Irene and listeners!
@NGH: i was also suspicious about the ability of KQ to fit with oriental music. Is this album worth to be purchased?
  3:41pm
north guinea hills:

@ Looms, to be honest, I've only heard two tracks here on WFMU, but I've dug those two.

I really dig Bretheren of the Free Spirit. I wonder if Jozef & James would play together stateside. (Jozef does often enought).
  3:44pm
slugluv1313:

oh yes! my nerves certainly DO *need* to be calmed!!! thanks so much, Irene!!!
  3:45pm
mike v:

Hi Irene, relatively new listener here but am starting to look forward to your show every week (Boulder, CO) Thanks for the interesting mix
  3:46pm
johnny:

I heard a Kronos album, You've Stolen My Heart - Songs from R.D. Burman's Bollywood with Indian singer Asha Bhosle. I thought it was good. And it's Asian music played by both Westerners and Asians. But I'm no expert, just an enjoyer.
  3:51pm
Looms:

Thanks. Irene said the album was lovely, i think i'll trust her on this.
I really dig Bretheren of the Free Spirit too, and what we heard is gorgeous, this Toure/Diabate album runs a lot on my cd player (thanks to Dan Bodah)
  3:51pm
johnny one more time:

And now The Carpet Crawlers, one of Genesis' most beautiful songs. Thanks for playing this gem, Irene!
  4:01pm
brock:

Irene, that last was awsome
  4:05pm
Jay from Scotland:

yeah, it's great to hear "Carpet Crawlers" again
  4:06pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is very clever in that it appears to be deep in meaning about something, but is actually about nothing. The Prog Rock equivalent of Seinfeld.
  4:10pm
v k:

irene - best wishes with whatever will keep u off the airwaves in april - u will be deeply missed -
  4:11pm
brock:

geez, there goes my quest for meaning... damn you Peter Gabriel!
  4:13pm
Looms:

Seinfeld? Not the soap tv series is suppose... Do you have any url link to let us know what you're talking about? I'm curious.
  4:31pm
north guinea hills:

Always have a soft spot for bill evans.
  4:34pm
em:

ngh: especially on rainy mondays
  4:35pm
Peter K.:

I love you, I love you, I love you. That's all I want to say.
  4:36pm
north guinea hills:

@ em: For some reason as a kid, I associated bill evans w/ rain slicked nyc streets (even though I'd never been to Manhattan back then)
  4:37pm
north guinea hills:

loves parallelograms!
  4:41pm
Hugh:

R.I.P. Dear Kate
  4:51pm
California girl:

Love you!!! can't wait to get to listen again in a month :)
  5:50pm
Looms:

Cyro Baptista's Banquet for the Spirits... Never heard about the guy, but i'll check his work out. What a nice track!
  5:53pm
judy from croton:

always perfect, timeless, and ever aptly named incredible string band.
  5:54pm
Mike:

Listened to you in Maine, now in Dana Point, CA.
Bliss
Best of health.
  5:58pm
mb:

Knew this was Jack Rose. Immediately recognized that style and I never listened to him that much. Too soon.
  5:59pm
Irene:

Thanks everyone! Be back in about a month.
  6:29am
Jeremy:

Hey Irene, bestest wishes for your "medical stuff". Thinking of you and hoping it all goes smoothly. Betsy will do a great job filling in, but we'll all be happy to hear your voice again and know that it's gone well.
