Tue. 3/23/10 9:15am north guinea hills:

  Tue. 3/23/10 9:16am CheriPi:

I'm a big fan of that Ethiopium record, hope they keep exploring that vein of music over at the Stones Throw.
Tue. 3/23/10 9:58am north guinea hills:

that xmas island track sounds at least 25 years old....(in a good way)
  Tue. 3/23/10 9:59am Cecile:

DJ Woody, good to see you.
Dude I missed Steve Lacy. :(
  Tue. 3/23/10 10:02am Woody:

Funny, I placed the Xmas island thing more at early 90s indie land... half the new records I grabbed sound are confusing to figure out what is or isn't a reissue! :)
Tue. 3/23/10 10:03am north guinea hills:

@ Cecile: ditto...... i miss that soprano (sax)....
  Tue. 3/23/10 10:08am jonny:

thanks for playing Stark Reality. What a great record. Hoagy was a great songwriter!
  Tue. 3/23/10 10:08am Cecile:

woody, would you be up for some Zapp, Roger or Zapp and Roger?

I have that record. Steve lLacy looks so square on that album cover.
  Tue. 3/23/10 10:09am Cecile:

I love Hoagy, jonny. I always thought he was a a great, if flawed singer. He had such a great style

Eugene Mirman is so hilarious.
Tue. 3/23/10 10:12am north guinea hills:

you wouldn't happen to have that new climax golden twins/A frames collaboration: "AFCGT", would you?
Tue. 3/23/10 10:17am north guinea hills:

not familiar w/ erhard hirt, but i've always digged axel dorner. he has an excellent disk on loy's azul discographicas recs.
  Tue. 3/23/10 10:19am Woody:

Just did the dj run for some Zapp, Roger, Roger/Zapp, Zapp/Roger.... can't find it in cds although it is bound to be here somewhere....

NGH, I quickly previewed that new "AFCGT" earleir today and thought it was okay. Saw them live a while back ago and was underwhelmed although like a lot of the records....
  Tue. 3/23/10 10:20am Cecile:

thanks, woody!
Tue. 3/23/10 10:21am north guinea hills:

i was never an A frames fan, but i've always dug everything that climax golden twins did, so imagined it might be nice.
  Tue. 3/23/10 10:37am yayson:

you could always push some dam funk in lieu of zapp, roger et al
a worthy successor.
  Tue. 3/23/10 10:42am Cecile:
