The lazy calm at the week's start. A few live performances included, but mainly music with an ear tilted toward string-driven things.

It's been strange how i disliked this Trembling Bells album at first, then how it became one of my favourites of 2009. Great stuff!

the soothing voice of Fred Neil - 'the dolphins' by Fred remains one of my fav songs to zone out to - first heard that tune on the Sopranos (Christopher shooting H)

Thanks for the Scott Walker. This Fred Neil sounds awesome. A little Tim Buckley, Lorca-ish. Irene, you seem like the only one who might play some Mark-Almond someday, and not the Soft Cell guy. Anyway .... great marathon and I loved your Spanky!

I've been meaning to ask for the longest time.. is there a possibility of Alan Davidson ever making another live appearance on the show? he used to be on seemingly annually, though clare and the reasons have that mantle now.

Irene:
Oh, I'd really love it if Alan could come back over to this side of the pond! A few days ago I sent him a note to catch up on things here. I suspect it's a money issue. He's also been trying to get me to go over to Scotland to visit but it's not feasible at the moment for me. If I ever do go visit Alan I'll tape some music when I get there, you can be sure.

You'd be very welcome in Scotland, be sure to bring that camera too! If you were to have the spare time after visiting him, travel up and down the west coast and the isles, it's beautiful.
