The lazy calm at the week's start. A few live performances included, but mainly music with an ear tilted toward string-driven things.

Live performance by Jessie Torrisi with William Berlind |
|||||
|
Sitting behind the drums was not enough for Jesse Torrisi. After pounding the skins in a dozen New York rock bands (Unisex Salon, Laptop, Les Fleurs Tragiques), Ms. Torrisi decided it was time to bring her songwriting frontside. Her debut, Brûler Brûler (“burn burn” in French), is a mad dash for passion through the streets of Brazil, Brooklyn, & New Orleans--places Jessie's lived in the last decade. Jesse Torrisi aalong with William Berlind played live on WFMU. |

Wow, I was at lunch, so I missed the "Liz loves Pinochet" reference. Sounds like a good WFMU bumper sticker. Will someone fill me in? Irene. I LOVE THEMBI! Thankyou! oh, get your insulin shots out, here's some pandas working out in the snow: http://ffffound.com/image/5cbdd0e84fd17ebba8602c712f4862b6b826dc1f

This show is spectacular, I was out of the country with Tommy and I just missed it so so much. Tommy and I are back now and just love listening to this while we have some Pinot Noir and snuggle by the fire. Keep up the good work.

Michael Kushmans! Great to see that you have returned safe and sound. How is Tommy's tummy? I heard it had to be pumped 3 times in Amsterdam. You naughty naughty boys. Welcome back and enjoy the slow jam.

Irene -- thanks for playing Two Loons for Tea, Noe Venable, and Odessa Chen... were you at the Eve Fest we all played at Knitting Factory last week? Let us know if you'd like copies of our prior records for the WFMU library... PS: kudos on Ralph Towner too... he was a HUGE influence in my childhood...
