Like your smooth and high tone list a lot! It's like sounds from Orion. That old Russian stuff is great. And I love that guy who sings like Bowie, uh, Telex. Anyway, I want to share some inside dope on GIRLS ON FIRE---it's a solo act by Leslie Singer who some of us know as a video artist. She did punk music---late 1970s to mid-1980s---before going into video. During that period she was first on the DC scene, then in San Francisco. There are a lot of cuts on that Girls Who Grow Up to Be Arts Administrators box that have visual art and film references. I could tell you more but I don't know if she wants me to and I can't afford to lose any more friends! I think her vocals often sound like the lead singer for THE FLYING LIZARDS.

Thanks, Laura! No losing friends, please! And what I want to know is where's the Flying Lizards reunion? Personally, I'd like to hear their version of "Livin on a Prayer" or "You Give Love a Bad Name" as soon as humanly possible!

I came here searching for Leslie Singer. I used to distribute her cassettes in Switzerland in the 80's, am now reviving my cassette label and would very much like to get in touch with her for a possible rerelease on cassette (still the best for harsh music!). Anyone who can give me a hint? I've already added all her tapes I had to Discogs.com (http://www.discogs.com/artist/Leslie+Singer) hoping to hear from somebody about her whereabouts.
