oh . . . that makes sense. . . . . why do bands think its cool to make many words one word? it makes it hard for borderline illiterate dyslexic djs to announce their stuff on the radio.

|
Wed. 1/20/10 3:36am
helsinki fred:
Did someone say it's hard being a DJ? You play what you like to a sort-of-captive audience, what's not to like? I totally dig it.

Fred: Where is Jena. The Rondelles track was live in Jena, it says it's in Europe but where? My mice dont seem to go for the pb, or the cheese for the glue traps, or the poison. but they do eat the fuck outa my bread, chips, soups in a bag, that are surrounded by traps. fucking bastards.
|
Wed. 1/20/10 3:54am
Bobby:
Brainwave... Get a pet snake for the mice to "play" with. Way better than a lump of fur. Don't ask how you'd get the snake back in it's cage, though

I lived out there in 1980. I really wanted to go to a Germs gig but the shit I heard about Darby and all the violence frankly scared me.

I younger, they cleaned up some in the 90s. we still had to deal with alot of it. but word is all the heads they locked up in the 90's are starting to get out now. and w/ shit like it is over here in the states, they are getting more active.
|
Wed. 1/20/10 4:34am
helsinki fred:
There were some skinhead problems here in the 90s and some of the cops were in on it too but AFAIK it's been pretty well stamped out. Can't complain.
|
Wed. 1/20/10 4:44am
marty:
yeah the hbpd wasnt the most racially sensitive group of people. for us kids it was really the straight edge clicks that made shit safer for us in the parks and beaches in the 90's

That SST comp sounds like its gotta be chocked full of awesome stuff. Was that ever re-issued on CD or anything? When I search for it I just get links to torrent sites.

helsinki fred:
Hey that recent movie about the Germs -- "What we do is secret" -- I dunno how "real" it is but it's a pretty good flick. I like to play trax off "G.I." when I DJ, they're one-minute blasts of raw power
|

Marty:
Yeah it rules some serious BALZ. (its also where the band No Age took thier name from)

re: Gestues it looks self release, there is no label name printed on it anywhere
|
Wed. 1/20/10 5:34am
Emile:
Thanks, Marty. I thought that Monster Musik thing was pretty cool. I googled the Gestures thing and it looks like Dischord has issued it, too. In the tradition of the Snakes from the good 'ol dayz.

Being from Lansing, MI, I would be remiss not to state that the Dogs version of "Are You A Boy Or Are You A Girl" rips the face off this Rondelles version. Whoever hasn't heard it, should do so right now.
