Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

Listener comments!

  11:15pm
will:

Hello Evan -- so glad to be here with you live tonight, these openings have been quite lovely (Kayak fan speaking)....WJ
  11:25pm
efd:

hi Will, glad you could be here live! Glad you (and frownland) enjoyed the Kayak.
  11:28pm
DJ Terre T:

Thank you for playing LOST SOUNDS Evan. You were associate producing my show the day LOST SOUNDS played my show. SO SAD. (I'm doing a tribute to Jay this Sat including his many bands since he was 16yrs old, plus the 3 live sessions he did for WFMU)
  11:30pm
Mike Sin:

I'm listenin' live, bro-fo, so start spreadin' your own brand of justice!
  11:38pm
John John From South Fla:

Jay Reatard you can never be replaced only missed:(
  11:39pm
C:

Cappy would have won!! So disappointed in Coakley. She ran a terrible campaign.
  11:55pm
john:

Hey Evan! And yeah. Worst. Campaign. Ever.
  12:18am
lex dexter:

Evan,
You and Tom Scharpling are totally responsible for me diving in and shelling out for LA Nuggets. It is nucking futs, and deserveth all of the attention that I attentively lavish upon it.
Thank you for knowing better, @efd!
@lexdexter
  12:21am
efd:

Hey Lex, glad to take partial responsibility for that!

John and C, seems like Coakley was pretty much invisible til it was too late, is that true?

John John, thanks for checking in - make sure you tune in to the Cherry Blossom Clinic this Saturday at 3 for more Jay Reatard - as posted by Terre T herself!

And of course greetings as well to Mr. Mike Sin!
  12:32am
C:

Yeah, Coakley won the primary because she had name recognition state-wide. She avoided as many debates as possible and tried to stay out of the spotlight (she even refused to answer questions about what Halloween candy she was giving out to a reporter writing a fluff piece). Maybe she was lazy or maybe it was a strategy, but she took a 6 day vacation during the general election and tried to coast on her name recognition and Dems' history of winning Mass. Add on top of that her gaffes. I thought she was Palinesque (gaffes), Kerry-esque (charisma), and Thompson-esque (work ethic). Not a good combo.

Back to the music, last year I bought the Wolverton Brothers "Old, Ugly, and Loud" CD after hearing a song of it on your show. After listening to the album, I ended up buying their entire discography (not too expensive using Amazon marketplace). Thanks, man!
  12:39am
A:

AC/DC still has the power to surprise. Huh.
  12:43am
efd:

yeah, that was not a typical AC/DC jam!

C, thanks for the further comments on the Mass Senate race... so frustrating.
  12:45am
Al Franken:

Is my AirAmerica slot still available?
  12:47am
Joshua K:

Oh well, no matter which of the 2 parties get in office the corporations still run the company so I'm sure we'll be fine.
  12:48am
A:

And on the same note, Joshua K, Papelbon just resigned with the Sox.
  12:50am
Joshua K:

I said corporations still run the company... I meant country. We do live in a country still right?
  1:01am
Homophone Cops:

That was re-signed with, yes?, not resigned from. Whew!
  1:18am
A:

Yes, do toss an n-dash in there, HoCo; sorry if I made any hearts race excessively.
  1:26am
jeff-m:

yummy stuff. Enjoying the show mucho. thanks
  1:28am
efd:

thanks, Jeff!

1-year deal for Papelbon, right? Think I saw that earlier.
  1:52am
Michael from the Left Coast:

For all the Kraftwerk fans--there's a very good audio documentary on the BBC2 website available only for the next four days
  1:54am
jeff-m:

nice, will check it out :)
  1:54am
efd:

cool, thanks for the tip Michael!
  1:55am
Joshua K:

Is this it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00pzf3j/The_Man_Machine_The_Story_of_Kraftwerk/
  1:59am
Michael from the Left Coast:

That's the one--there's a lot of stuff about their influence on others that I could have lived without but there is some good info and interviews with the principals (except connie planck).
