Mon. 10/19/09 9:24am From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

Maybe you need to turn the record over to play the other channel.

Mon. 10/19/09 9:25am From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

It is the big hole in the middle that explains the allure of the 45.

Mon. 10/19/09 9:27am From: annie

Mon. 10/19/09 9:33am From: postmanpaul

Mon. 10/19/09 9:34am From: annie

PMP-i am back from there. now, but staying in town cause the pup is getting spayed tomorrow..... ...the absinthe tasting went great!!

Mon. 10/19/09 9:36am From: postmanpaul

i wouldn't mind acquiring a taste for that myself annie. is it really rocket fuel?

Mon. 10/19/09 9:39am From: dc pat

damn, this is beautiful, I *should* write music...

Mon. 10/19/09 9:39am From: annie

it's a very smooth drink, and this distiller is a friend of mine, she sure knows what she is doing..

Mon. 10/19/09 9:39am From: jan

the program sounds great!

Mon. 10/19/09 9:55am From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

Was that a Compact Disc skip I heard?

Mon. 10/19/09 9:57am From: dc pat

man, I had some Hungarian absinthe and it was some serious, harsh, medicine. We were instructed to light a spoon of the stuff on fire to melt some sugar for it.

Mon. 10/19/09 9:58am From: bw

oh man.. only one hour in.. not sure I am gonna make it!! this is a lot of records on the floor

Mon. 10/19/09 10:03am From: Cecile

I kind of want to see it, but I can't see it being longer than 15 minutes, ever.

Mon. 10/19/09 10:03am From: annie

cheryl says that's the chech way and it's horrible way to serve it.. her absinthe is much smoother and no sugar is necessary

Mon. 10/19/09 10:04am From: dc pat

I liked the book but have absolutely no interest in the movie. I just sounds dumb as hell--you just can't make a movie out of that book. Whole different thing.

Mon. 10/19/09 10:04am From: Cecile

clock-sucker?

Mon. 10/19/09 10:04am From: bw

im tellin you - it was torture to sit through.. I even brought beer!

Mon. 10/19/09 10:05am From: dc pat

cook-sucker

Mon. 10/19/09 10:06am From: Cecile

Eh. I guess I just want to see Whip It more.

Or rewatch The Fall.

Mon. 10/19/09 10:10am From: annie

sorry, bw, i did like the movie, but was disappointed about the changes, too..the one thing i watched for was then ending where his dish of food was still hot... no steam coming off that chocolate cake.. oh cecile, i did see the fall... i had a hard time with it...

Mon. 10/19/09 10:13am From: Cecile

I kind of loved it, but it really drags you through the emotions. And is really disturbing on a lot of levels. It is one of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen, though.

It is a polarizing film, though.

Mon. 10/19/09 10:14am From: Ken From Hyde Park

We may see the movie when the DVD shows up a the local library. Those Disney movies with that insipid "Yours to own..." intros make me barf, though.

Mon. 10/19/09 10:15am From: annie

yes, i felt the girl was put through too much trauma... i loved the science of sleep!!!

Mon. 10/19/09 10:16am From: annie

and i could not make it through the hurt locker...

Mon. 10/19/09 10:22am From: Cecile

She had a rough road there, but I loved that she ended up savying the day somehow. But as my friend put it, worst...babysitter..ever.

I made it through the hurt locker, but I'm told the second time is much easier and you can really enjoy it.

I need to see science of sleep, I have it TiVod. I am just too lazy.

Mon. 10/19/09 10:22am From: stingy d

it's moday mane, i'm gettin drunk mane!

Mon. 10/19/09 10:25am From: stingy d

Mon. 10/19/09 10:44am From: Parq

Joining late here; what movie were you guys discussing before?

Mon. 10/19/09 10:45am From: dc pat

I'm pretty sure we have a machine for looking into a man's mind..

Mon. 10/19/09 10:47am From: bw

Mon. 10/19/09 10:50am From: dc pat

Italian Sunglass Movie is my new favorite song.

Yeah, Wire.

Mon. 10/19/09 10:50am From: dc pat

SHIT! I mean Mekons!!

Mon. 10/19/09 10:51am From: Cecile

Parq, I count so far:

where the wildthings are
The Fall
The Science of Sleep
and
The Hurt locker

Mon. 10/19/09 10:51am From: dc pat

that's embarrassing...I gotta turn in my punk rock card...

Mon. 10/19/09 10:54am From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

I thought Felix was saying "I crave accolades."

Mon. 10/19/09 10:57am From: dc pat

I think the Mekons tune is from Peel sessions.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:08am From: Cecile

los microwaves! OMG.
Do you have lawnchairs?

Mon. 10/19/09 11:11am From: Minor

Los Microwaves = BRILLIANT.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:20am From: cb

Yes! This Crayon is great!

Mon. 10/19/09 11:27am From: R ! S K Y

LOVE THE VIDEO CLIP BEN!

Mon. 10/19/09 11:38am From: Ken From Hyde Park

Note to self....don't leave valuables unattended on a restaurant table.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:41am From: Ike

*Were* they unattended or did somebody use the crowdedness to rifle through stuff while brushing up against it, etc.?

Mon. 10/19/09 11:46am From: Liz B.

A gal rifled through my purse as it was inside of another larger bag underneath my chair wedged next to the wall of the restaurant. She must have been crawling right under my chair and I didn't notice (my back was facing her table)! She managed to unzip every compartment of my purse, find the wallet and leave the restaurant unnoticed (my bf realized what had happened later... 2 gals came in and sat at the table behind us, didn't order anything, and left... with my wallet). D'oh.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:50am From: paul

greasy kid stuff!!!

Mon. 10/19/09 11:51am From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

Liz - That sucks. Sorry.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:51am From: dc pat

Jeezus, that's unbelievable. Ballzy is what I'd call it.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:51am From: Ike

Holy crap Liz!

Anyway, based on the accents, I'm guessing that Komik-Kazee were not singing about Bloomfield NJ.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:52am From: anyone to everyone

anybody know what record player that is in the video? looks really nice

Mon. 10/19/09 11:53am From: Liz B.

Definitely ballzy! Thanks for the sympathy!

Mon. 10/19/09 11:54am From: Emily

what a bunch of jerks! sorry that happened, Liz.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:54am From: Ike

The last time I got mugged, at least they were decent enough to throw back my wallet after taking out the cash, so I wouldn't have to go back to the DMV etc. And they threw back my crappy phone, too. Another good reason not to have an iPhone.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:55am From: Ken From Hyde Park

<voice of Droopy the dog>

Know what? That makes me mad.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:56am From: dc pat

I have the cheapest piece of shit phone you can "buy". BUT, it plays White Riot when it rings and that is truly ALL I care about.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:57am From: bw

Ike they are FROM NJ!

Mon. 10/19/09 11:57am From: dc pat

HEY, is this JR tune a 45??

Mon. 10/19/09 11:58am From: Ike

BW, no way, really?!? Why did I think they sounded British?! I figured there had to be a Bloomfield somewhere near Liverpool or something.

Mon. 10/19/09 11:58am From: bw

um... sure!

:)

Mon. 10/19/09 11:59am From: dc pat
