Sun. 10/18/09 7:40pm From: Bill in Goshen

I'm guessing it's either Ritalin or Viagra. I'll go with Ritalin.

Sun. 10/18/09 7:42pm From: depilatrix

OK Bill, I'll take Viagra for 1000.

Sun. 10/18/09 7:44pm From: depilatrix

But there are a lot of diabetics and heart patients also so it could also be insulin or coumadin

Sun. 10/18/09 7:44pm From: Jeff M

It'd make for a good story if the most-prescribed drug were one of the willie-stiffeners, but that's probably not the case. Doctors seem to hand out Lipitor like candy, to anyone who's had a fatty ham sandwich or is over 30. That might be in the running.

Oh, and don't confuse me with that other Jeff, the cranky one.

Sun. 10/18/09 7:46pm From: miketp

the cranky one thats hilarious

Sun. 10/18/09 7:48pm From: trs

I'm looking on a site that says in 2005 it was Paxil, followed by a mix of pain-killers / anti-depressants.

For 2008/9 - I'd guess it's in the pain-killer/pain-numbing family

Sun. 10/18/09 7:48pm From: rick

Well, I cheated and went to the web. In a 2005 study Paxil was the most prescribed drug in the U.S. And a 2007 CDC study asserted that antidepressants were the most prescribed type of drug, but I don't believe that study focused on the single most prescribed drug.

However, if everyone listened to Monica's show, there would be no need for antidepressants, especially if they listened to that track by L.Pierre, another unknow gem unearthed by Monica, great job as always!

I hope I haven't stifled debate with my research

Sun. 10/18/09 7:49pm From: CB1

I'm enjouing this second set immensley. Thanks!

Sun. 10/18/09 7:50pm From: texas scott

Sun. 10/18/09 7:50pm From: rick

THis track is from the Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack, can't wait to see the film. Monica always unearths great soundtracks though this one is rather present.

Sun. 10/18/09 7:50pm From: miketp

just say no to swine flu vaccine

Sun. 10/18/09 7:51pm From: CB1

One day I too shall learn to spell. Maybe it's the Paxil?

Sun. 10/18/09 7:51pm From: texas scott

no

Sun. 10/18/09 7:52pm From: CB1

Whew! Thanks, TS

Sun. 10/18/09 7:52pm From: phillyd

Sun. 10/18/09 7:56pm From: Richard

Sun. 10/18/09 7:57pm From: swine flu shot

Sun. 10/18/09 7:58pm From: Fmuidiot

Yeah, I know I'm early, but it is that time of year. My thinking is , never take non recreatioal drugs. That stuff can do so serious harm. If it aint fun, don't do it!

Sun. 10/18/09 8:01pm From: monica

Sun. 10/18/09 8:11pm From: Jeff M

Just last night we were having dinner with a friend who's a doctor. He was getting really worked up about how willfully ignorant people seem to be about vaccinations these days. H1N1 is expected to account for many excess deaths in the next year or so, and the vaccine should be effective. There's no reason to fear the injected, killed-virus version of the vaccine unless you're allergic to eggs or have previously developed the rare Guillain-Barré syndrome.

There's a lot of stoopid out there these days.

Sun. 10/18/09 8:23pm From: Bill in Goshen
