"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot."

saw pimmon do show at sydney opera house a week back. why do computer musicians perform live? what's with the idea of looking at a guy standing behind a laptop for 40 minutes? love the sound, but can't recommend the gig! the chicks playing stockhausen were cool, though!
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:21am Pieter:

Morning John, Morning all
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:23am Joshua K:

Better be a damn good light show or something good to dance t if its gonna be a guy sitting with a laptop. Though if you were sitting in a chair the whole time and there was quadrophonic sound or something crazy, that might be interesting as well.
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:27am nicks:

yeah, couldn't understand that... the sound for stockhausen was quad and all over the place amazing, but pimmon was static. and the guy's a sound engineer!
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:30am Joshua K:

There should be more of a market for music recorded to be played on a surround sound system. I have some cornelius DVD and one other I forget what it was.
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:40am JA:

these are questions to ponder for the next few 100 years.
can we keep it to easier questions, like who makes a better saw horse..Home Depot or an administrative assistant at a lower level (<250K) arts organization
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:44am nicks:

stockhausen had some interesting ideas on saw horses, and even drew some pictures of them on several of his scores, i believe. they were a manifestation of pre-industrial Germanic culture, and Home Depot understand that, so I'd plump for their product.
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:50am ?:

but what about emerging composers who are responsible for keeping track of the receipts...they need to eat too
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:54am nicks:

nah, it does them good to starve. karlheinz lived on nothing but metal shavings and sine waves...
  Wed. 10/14/09 6:58am Bret:

stockhausen denied that there was ever an air traffic controllers strike
  Wed. 10/14/09 8:40am Parq:

Where'd everybody go? Been here since BeBop Delux, a band I've always dug. Show's going fine.
Wed. 10/14/09 8:58am Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

. . . is still lurking about.
