I gotta turn this up!

Mon. 10/5/09 9:09am From: bw

I plug in and all I got is a dead computer! is this because I downloaded curb your enthusiasm last night?

Mon. 10/5/09 9:15am From: PMD

LOL! Great name for a band - Karma Cop.

Mon. 10/5/09 9:16am From: Mac

Quick... copyright that "Karma Kops" idea, before somebody else does it!

Mon. 10/5/09 9:16am From: BSI

I was bitchin' about them "laws of the universe" last week when the 128k mp3 stream was cursed last week.....

but so far, we seem blessed with good normalness! At least regarding the stream...

Mon. 10/5/09 9:17am From: jsb

Mon. 10/5/09 9:17am From: PMD

Mon. 10/5/09 9:18am From: Ψ-Ns

BW - My wife's MacBook wouldn't start a couple of days ago (at work). We went thru the troubleshooting steps on the Apple support site and fixed it quick.

Mon. 10/5/09 9:21am From: ~L

Try resetting your drivers.

Mon. 10/5/09 9:22am From: bw

thanks all

the thing is the screen wont go live.. the little white light on the front lock lights up (its a mac book pro) but thats it

Mon. 10/5/09 9:25am From: wha?

Have anything in the Superdrive? Rogue DVD, or...

poptart?

Mon. 10/5/09 9:27am From: BSI

try starting it without any external USB or firewire connex... Sometimes my iMac gets creeped if I've left something plugged in (camera via USB) and freezes on the white screen on startup. Unplug the USB, starts fine, then back to normal. ... probably useless, but it's an idea.

Mon. 10/5/09 9:28am From: BSI

failing that, you can always resort to human sacrifice to the goddess Mechania.

Mon. 10/5/09 9:31am From: bw

does the music count as a sacrifice?

Mon. 10/5/09 9:32am From: bw

sacrifice picture!

Mon. 10/5/09 9:33am From: BSI

it's gotta be HUMAN sacrifice, so make it some all-vocal stuff.
gregorian chants and suchlike.
Mechania don't suffer no chumps.

Mon. 10/5/09 9:39am From: annie

Doug: eh? You in the district proper now?

Mon. 10/5/09 11:12am From: doug from DC

Yup, up on Buchanan, a couple of blocks from Layne's. I kidded not about the re-urbanification.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:13am From: GP

O.K....this Bill Orcutt song is EXACTLY what my head felt like on Saturday morning....arrgh.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:15am From: GP

Mon. 10/5/09 11:16am From: bw

sorry

I am updating now

Mon. 10/5/09 11:19am From: GP

No Benjamin, It is not you, It always happens with me on this end. The playlist is always ahead of the song being played. I think it is our connection on this end or something...but thanks for trying : )

Mon. 10/5/09 11:20am From: BSI

so maybe it was Persona!
and that wacky cowboy thing gets five stars as well.
Doug: welcome to the belly of the beast!
Buchanan might still be in delivery range of Fusion, if you dig having curry brought to your door.......

Mon. 10/5/09 11:23am From: bw

the bad cowboy thing was solar skeletons.. I had to edit it.. that cowboy had a dirty mouth

Mon. 10/5/09 11:29am From: Ken From Hyde Park

I'm anxious to see what The Veiled Avenger is going to do with those crazy vampires.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:31am From: a mac user

bw, you've probably had a lot of tips, but the lack of response when you power on your machine sounds like it might be a power supply issue.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:38am From: Ike

Your dream indicates that you MUST write this screenplay and get wheelbarrows of cash for it from dopey movie execs, or disaster will befall you. "Karma Cop" will be hilarious. I can see it now. You can pitch it as "an urbane 'My Name is Earl' meets 'Death of a Salesman,' but funnier, and without so much death. Or so many salesmen."

Mon. 10/5/09 11:38am From: a mac user

most of my experience is with the desktop G3 and G4 macs, but the fault you've described matches issues I've resolved by replacing the system cooling fan and/or power supply

Mon. 10/5/09 11:39am From: Carmichael

I love the current comic panel. Reminds me of The Howl.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:40am From: bw

thanks IKE!

is this the wrong speed?? pumice??

Mon. 10/5/09 11:42am From: dc pat

nope, if it works, it's the right speed..

Mon. 10/5/09 11:42am From: doug from DC

BSI, anyone delivering curry will always be welcome at my door. We were mixing up our own veggies with berbere spice last night, courtesy of local Ethiopian markets.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:51am From: dc pat

man, when Kenny G comes in on this song, he just ruins it...

Mon. 10/5/09 11:53am From: Vicki

regarding the Mac prob - have you taken the battery out? A faulty battery can stop a Mac from starting up from the mains.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:55am From: Carmichael

Thanks, bw.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:56am From: nasok

oh, yeah, time for the best song of the week.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:56am From: Ken From Hyde Park

OK, so how come the grenade blew up about fifteen feet from her and it didn't so much as knock her hat askew? Good to know little Skipper made it through alright.

Mon. 10/5/09 11:57am From: still b/p

From his marvelously equipped observatory on his private star, the alert Stardust saw the murderous vengeance and showboatish casualty count achieved by The Veiled Avenger, and he said, "Mmm, this lady is fiiiiiiine!"

Mon. 10/5/09 11:57am From: bw

and you can check out the fall schedule now! see youse all soon
