Listener comments!

  9:00am Dan B:

Happy Wednesday, Ken! Happy Wednesday, fellow listeners!
  9:01am cribley:

Morning all. Have you seen this Ken? http://lcweb2.loc.gov/diglib/ihas/html/afccards/afccards-home.html
  9:01am Ne-guh-tor:

KEN! Morning.
  9:02am annie:

ken!!! other people out there!!! stragglers!! passers-by!!! good morning!
  9:02am BSI:

Q: Is it soup yet?
  9:03am BSI:

A: is WHAT soup yet?
  9:05am Ken:

Morning everybody, it's really good to be back. And back for good this time.
  9:05am -max-:

Wednesdays are so great that I'm starting my vacation today! Morning all.
  9:07am Mark:

Ken, I'm glad you're back for good and not evil
  9:08am Bad Ronald:

Morning Everyone!

What's Sluggo freaking out about?
  9:09am Doug in Canada:

Listener Doug checking in.
  9:09am Dan B:

I don't know, Mark... he has got the goatee, now. If television has taught us anything, it's that people with goatees are always evil.

Still, Ken's an all right guy. Evil or Good.
  9:09am Ken:

I think Sluggo is freaking out about back to school / work.
  9:09am Doug in Canada:

I like you because you play Flipper ... where can I get this?
  9:11am Ghengis Jung:

I can't believe you started without me!
  9:12am Bad Ronald:

Gotcha, it looks like he's sweating blood!
  9:13am BSI:

Bad Ronald:
ain't we all!
  9:14am Ghengis Jung:

It's not always the goatee. Here, Evil Kirk is distinguished by his eyeliner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bZKEhgieoc
  9:21am Bad Ronald:

True dat BSI.

That Guitar Ken looks like an amalgam of Zappa, The Boss and Jimmy Page!
  9:22am Mark:

Ken has replaced Angus Young in AC/DC?
  9:23am gbrust:

Is that a coven of mathematicians? Besides the geometrical & algebraic symbols, it looks like the one's skirt says "calculus"
  9:26am dei xhrist:

oh Zatumba, save me from the work day... tell me the winning lotto numbers and I will reward FMU many fold
9:26am Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

That seals it. As everyone knows, "K" is the letter of the Devil.
  9:26am Vicki:

no
  9:27am PMD:

Great to have you back! Hi all!
  9:28am Bw:

Even with the tefillin u can't remember the fill in!
  9:28am -max-:

Zatumba! How good of you to join us! Someone pass him a martini.
Piraro knows the secret of "k", see it here: http://www.bizarro.com/symbols/index.htm
  9:28am TRTSH:

Glad again for that archive, missing the new music like I did again again.

C gives K a hard time. I think you should pit them again one another.

Welcome backckckck
  9:29am BSI:

Hooray for "K"!!!!
...don't forget bhangra superstar A.S.Kang! He's a "K" as well!!!!
May I suggest "Chhan Ke" from the "Dil De De" album?

....best bhangra track ever... and it's by a "K" dude! You can't lose!
  9:29am TRTSH:

.. against one another

Not again.
  9:30am Mac:

Turned on the Mac and hear Ken heading off on a rant. I can happily work knowing the next few hours will find some amusement. Sluggo is sweating blood because he was drawn by Ernie Bushmiller.
  9:33am Ken Ken:

Sorry Bob W! I did thank you, just not twice. So thank you Bob Bob
  9:36am townspeople:

Thank you, masked man.
  9:36am Morticia:

Thank you, Thing.
  9:36am Cecile:

Ken!
Genghis!
Negator!
everyone!
Good to see everyone!
  9:37am Ken:

I want everybody to get going on the Ganzfeld Procedure right away.
  9:38am Mark:

I'm on it
  9:39am Thatan, Printh of Darkneth:

@ Dum: K? Oh, come now. Everyone knowth that ETH (what mere mortalth refer to ath "S") is for Thatan, thandwicheth on the danthfloor, thexual intercourth, and Thpiderman of the Ringth!
  9:39am cribley:

I've been meaning to try that.
  9:40am dragonflyshards:

can i use basketballs? i have no ping-pong balls...
  9:41am Listener Dave from NH:

Because that image is so small, I thought it said "The Garfield Procedure" at first and I figured it'd have something to do with loving lasagna and hating Mondays, but then there's a horse and rainbows?
  9:47am Bad Ronald:

Mmmm, baby mold!
  9:48am PMD:

Ken, I didn't know you played the guitar!
  9:48am BSI:

MISSUS McWIGGAM!
Great grasshopper jesus, it's good to have Ken back in my skull.
  9:49am annie:

aaaahhhhhhhh, you're back!!
  9:50am cribley:

Wearing a goatee gives you the innate ability to play all instruments, as it is practically selling your soul at the crossroads.
  9:50am Dan B:

You tell 'em, Bocephus.
9:51am Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Are you sure that Hank Williams Jr doesn't spell his name with all "K"s?
  9:52am sebastian:

hola ken, que buena tenerte rallando la papa otra vez
  9:52am Mark:

I love the stupidity of blaming Bill Clinton for the unchecked greed of the banks during the Bush administration
  9:52am Bill W:

I'm eating salad at the bottom of the food chain here.
  9:53am dei x:

pronounced "gones-ville", daddy-o.
  9:53am sugarwolf:

It's my first Wednesday morning off in ages & I get to spend it listening to Ken!!
  9:55am TRTSH:

Not so much a food chain as it is a web. Most decomposers may be small and forgettable, but the system would be a mess w/o 'em
  9:56am Ne-guh-tor:

Hank WIlliams Jr. is such a fuckin' dumbass. That is the stupidest crock of nonsense. Hank Williams has rolled over in his grave since he died due to that idiot. Hank Jr. doesn't have McNuggets worth of talent to his father. What a moron.
  9:56am dragonflyshard:

i crawled up the food chain to eat eggs & salsa
  9:58am annie:

venison and rice here, for breakfast.. and two eggs
  10:00am Listener Listener Michael:

Just goes to chow, guys: be a good and present father to your kids, or they'll piss on your memory the way Bocephus has on his father's.

(I understand that Hank didn't have a lot of choice in the matter once his marriage was fucked-up, so I guess the advice-stack should be pushed up one level to: don't have kids until you're reasonably sure your marriage won't get fucked-up.)
  10:00am Dan B:

Anybody can make up statistics in their head! 87% of all people know that!
  10:01am Chefcmc:

60% of the time it works all of the time.
  10:01am sugarwolf:

if you repeat a statistic enough times, it becomes true!
  10:01am jojo:

60% of the time it works EVERY time
  10:02am Cecile:

listener listener michael, if my parents thought about being mature before they had kids it too much, I'd not be around.
Sad but true
  10:03am Cecile:

I stand corrected, jojo
  10:03am carl rove:

i told socrates in the nyer: surely you believe that if you repeat a lie enough times it becomes true
  10:03am jojo:

one of only a few good lines in that movie
  10:04am Ken:

Hi Cecile - Welcome back! I still sort of love you! Its been a long time though...
  10:04am Cecile:

I love that stupid movie irrationally.
  10:04am tramadol:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ2zr4C1hBA&feature=related
  10:06am Cecile:

I know. It's been a long distance relationship...
I still love you too, Ken.
  10:10am BSI:

This Ganzfeld Procedure is damned painful!
.......oh........
ping-pong balls should be bulging OUT, right?
......................ah. much better.
  10:13am Ken:

BSI - You can also use some Silicon caulk to mitigate the sharp edges and keep them from falling off. Use the clear stuff so you dont look like a clown when you're all done.
  10:15am stingy d:

hey. i'm taking the day off. gonna throw out the garbage and get a hiarcut. not in that order. and of course, i'm about to prepare epic breakfast!
  10:15am Mark:

why not use a little crazy glue to keep the ping pong ball in place?
  10:16am Bad Ronald:

Style, Interesting, Music, Flash, Up and Down, Go Round and Round!
  10:17am Cecile:

what kinda epic brekkie, stingy?
  10:17am Dan B:

Please tell me the Pole Dance toy is just shopped. God, please let that not be real. I take back any bad thing I ever said about Bling Teeth.
  10:18am Ken:

It's real Dan, its not shopped, it's REEEAALL!! Dont look away!
  10:20am Cecile:

yeah, loleatta!
  10:21am bocefus:

i munna start my lil gil erly
  10:22am AnAnonymousParty:

I remember showing my son how to soak the decals in water to put on his model cars ... now I have show my daughter how to do it so she can put the tattoos on her Pole Dancer Barbie. The times, they are a-changin'.
  10:24am dragonflyshar:

Ken do you have a german, danish,or ukrainian version of "hanky panky"?
  10:24am PMD:

Pole dancing is very good exercise.
Or so I hear.
  10:26am dragonflysha:

(so are kegels)
  10:27am TRTSH:

I wonder how it sells in Poland?
  10:28am BSI:

Too late, Ken. I went with Mark's superglue idea and now I'm living in a whole new wonderland of dreams........
  10:28am Hokey Pokey Uppy Datey:

Ya do the whorey-poley
And you flash your goods around,
That's what it's all about!
C'mon kids!
  10:28am CC:

dragonflyshar must have been listening to 3 chord montte yesterday.
  10:32am AnAnonymousParty:

Wyy do I always expect Darth Vader to appear when I hear that Prokofiev piece?
  10:32am dragonflysh:

yes,and there's a hole -waiting for more hanky panky.
  10:33am Cecile:

I'm sorry, some things like strippers, MA-rated comedy shows and heavy drinking should be left to adults. To hell with family togetherness...
  10:36am CC:

obviously cecile isn't aware of the stripping for jesus movement
  10:36am still b/p:

I like that Windmill version so much, I get all Sluggo and exude visible intensity of sentiment.
  10:37am Lizardner Dave:

ALL HAIL ZATUMBA
  10:40am sugarwolf:

I didn't think Hasidim were allowed to go to drive-ins....
  10:40am Variety:

Zack Norman is Sammy in Chief Zabu!
  10:40am jon:

Ken:

Someone might have already asked,,, what is the image next to Flipper Way of the World entry on the play list? Where did it come from?
  10:41am Parq:

"Hassids At The Drive-In" would be a good name for a band. As would "Hassids in Pickups".
  10:42am Cecile:

Ken, you have to play some Was (Not Was).
Remember when it was the national anthem of Lower Michigan?
  10:43am jojo:

pickup sids
  10:44am CC:

ken will be interviewing zac ephron? crazy!
  10:45am Cecile:

when we went to see that movie, we left it going "feel good movie of the fall!" and "I laughed until I cried! And then I cried until I laughed!"
10:48am Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

How about "the Hassid Aminophens" for a band name?
  10:48am Fape Cear:

Don't forget, Ken, when you're laughing in that way, you must also say "counselor" like you have a broken nose and a harelip.
  10:48am Don LaFontaine:

"In a world where Hassidic Jews ..."
  10:49am John from Oslo:

Good show! just tuned in!
  10:51am CC:

at first i thought that said "if you have fun..."
  10:53am John from Oslo:

Veleno Mortale sounds like unplugged D.A.F.
  10:59am AnAnonymousParty:

I know a gal who could turn those HanderPants into a shirt.
  11:01am dragonflys:

i need to control my hand bounce when i run...
  11:02am Ken:

Jon - I dont know the story behind that "Way of the World" image. But it's an amazing photo. I found it on a vintage photo site and there was no info. Scary looking shit
  11:06am dragofly:

her dress says calculus"-no?..where i live someone wrote on a brick wall "run away and do calculus"...that grafiti-er probably knows about this.
  11:11am sugarwolf:

those ladies look like they have have math stuff written on their dress & chalk hanging from their waists
  11:13am Ken:

Clearly it's some kind of math-based coven.
  11:15am bw:

ken - i want underpants for my hands!!!!!!!! even more than bling teeth
  11:15am annie:

trigonometry can do that to you
  11:16am Dan B:

a^2+b^2 = Satan?
  11:16am Cecile:

it could be an anti-education for women dance troupe.
  11:17am BSI:

Screw hand-underpants! I can't catch up!
I'm still trying to find those soldider-of-jesus pajamas (from previous Ken playlist) in adult sizes! The manufacturer refuses my lusty advances!
  11:17am Cecile:

this is about as silly (and wonderful) as that Carcass record where they went all thrash metal
  11:19am Ken:

I too would kill for a pair of handerpants... are they available? I would search but I'm too busy downloading porn.
  11:20am Listener Dave from NH:

Which Carcass album? "Heartwork"?
I like that one bunches but I wouldn't call it silly.
  11:22am Cecile:

I love it tons, but yes, it's a little silly. But thrash metal is a bit inherently silly. I think. I still love it.
  11:22am gbrust:

handerpants.com. They even have ringtones!!
  11:22am dragfly:

i sold my soul to MC Escher
  11:24am Parq:

If you please, a concurring underwear post:

http://www.mcphee.com/items/11884.html
  11:27am stingy d:

mmmmmmmmm potatoes, bacon, eggs, biscuits and coffeeeee! not totally epic. but there's more biscuits.
  11:28am PMD:

Handerpants. Is that a big knuckle or are you happy to see me?
  11:29am Listener Dave from NH:

Curiously enough, I think it's somehow less cartoony of an album than N:DtI. But I guess I stand corrected - there is something impish and excessive about thrash. SOD was a wink writ large and Slayer was over-the-top to the point of being a caricature of a death and Satan-obsessed metal band. Silly indeed!
  11:29am PMD:

Parq - that is GREAT!
  11:29am Cecile:

om nom nom nom
biscuits.
Is Gladys giving you the puppy eyes? "Oh, hoomin biskits are so much better than dog biskits!"
  11:30am Bugs Bunny:

No matter what dat sign sez, dat ain't no rabbit, Doc.
  11:30am Cecile:

LDNH:
Impish! I've never heard it called that, but it is completely true!!! Coll!
  11:31am Parq:

The lovely Mrs. Parq is a devoted Archie McPhee fan. Those squirrel pants have been a running gag in our house for a year now.
  11:33am stingy d:

gladys made eys and did a whole lot of noisy sniffing. she got a little peice of bacon.
  11:34am PMD:

Really Ken, WFMU needs to do things in dofferent locations across the US. Like, um, DC.
  11:34am doug in DC:

I remember in the early nineties when a friend played Deicide for me and a couple of friends. We were literally ROTFL, but admiring their chops at the same time.
  11:35am Cecile:

Aw, gladys.
I cherish my Mars Attacks! light switch plate covers from the Archie McPhee mothership store in Seattle
  11:36am stingy d:

i wanna see kennyg !!!!!
  11:37am dragonf:

actually i was going to do my nails on sep.11
  11:37am Ken:

OK Stingy,. they;re yours! Email me your real name and shit: ken at wfmu dot org
  11:38am quinn:

i NEED to see kenny g!!!!!!!
  11:40am Lizardner Dave:

I may just go see Kenny G, first I've gotta get out of previous plans.

And did anyone else notice that Jandek is playing there this Sunday? That's quite a week for one venue!
11:43am Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Ken - If you think national, then you are national. Bring your game to DC and we will bring the crowd.
  11:49am dragon:

is it those men in barrels singing bg vx?
  11:50am PMD:

I may start howling now too.
  11:51am ghost of taoc:

Ken, thank you.
  11:51am andre:

omg Harry merry rules! he just played here in Nashville a couple of weeks ago.
  11:51am Cecile:

that mong track was wonderful ah-ooo
  11:52am cribley:

http://imgur.com/SkNGP
  11:55am Seamus:

That's beautiful cribley!
  11:56am Parq:

Rock on, Raad-Man, wherever you are.
  11:57am dragn:

let's hear mong doing freebird
  11:57am andre:

best version of free bird. Simply because it's so short
  11:57am ozzy skateboard:

going to the new york state fair with WFMU shirt on, got to represent man
  11:59am Dan B:

Ah, Ozzy. I'm going Sunday! I should wear my FMU shirt...
  11:59am doug in DC:

Freebird, with the purchase of another bird of equal or lesser value.
  11:59am PMD:

Ken, you really need to play a track from the Van Morrison breaking contract record (that I won from your show). How about Ringworm?
  12:01pm drn:
