Listener comments!

  Thu. 7/23/09 2:18am Spencer:

How come I can't access the playlist from the main page? I had to be clever to find it.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:22am Nick the Bard:

Link the playlist if you want people to comment...

Unless that's part of a moon landing conspiracy you're making....
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:23am Spencer:

Hmm actually you CAN access it from the main page, if you scroll down. But it's not totally obvious. And at this time of the day, things like that need to be obvious.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:24am Spencer:

I don't think the moon even exists! It's all a big conspiiirrrraaacccyyyy.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:25am Megan:

I just excused myself from a party for Night People. Now, I'm sitting alone in a bedroom listening to people talk.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:26am Megan:

I like this better. I'm weird.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:26am Nick the Bard:

The moon was made of ribs and Harry Caray ate it with a Budwiser.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:28am Spencer:

I stopped playing Nintendo to listen to Night People.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:28am Spencer:

Megan, did you think of putting on Night People AT the party?
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:30am Megan:

Nope, but they'd probably get bored after 5 minutes and put music back on.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:31am Spencer:

Probably not a very good party then.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:32am Megan:

My mom made me throw away my maggots on Saturday.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:32am Spencer:

So how are the maggots doing?
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:33am Spencer:

You anticipated my question! Amazing!
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:34am Spencer:

(also, that's very sad)
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:35am Megan:

I hope some of them turned into flies and flew away before the trash went out.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:38am Megan:

Other sad stuff: my friend's half eaten jawbreaker grew mold and now she can't eat it.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:39am Joshua K:

hello playlist
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:40am Spencer:

Well it takes a week and a half for maggots to become flies... so, do the math... or don't... it might be too painful.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:40am Spencer:

Hey Josh.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:42am Spencer:

I didn't know jawbreakers got moldy.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:43am Megan:

Neither did I.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:45am Spencer:

They do develop that thin, white layer of sugar crust when you let them sit out though...
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:45am Megan:

It must have been wet, but jawbreakers dry fast.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:46am Spencer:

This is great radio.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:48am Spencer:

Oh my gosh, guys... I went into the archive to see if I could find Allie's misquote and I just clicked on a random point on the timeline and HIT IT DEAD ON. Swear to Gord! It's right around the 1:51 mark. And she did reverse the quote.
  Thu. 7/23/09 2:57am Spencer:

Glad to be of service!
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:02am Joshua K:

That cousin is a son of an eric
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:03am Megan:

Hey guys, I love you.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:03am Spencer:

I heard the other day that Nasa's going to put a man on the moon again in 2020 and by 2025 there will be a moon base that astronauts will be able to stay at for 6 months at a time!
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:07am Spencer:

What kind of love are you talking about, Megan? The kind of love that makes a girl leave a party to listen to a late night radio show? Or more like the kind of love that a girl has for her pet maggots?
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:08am Megan:

I'm thinking..
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:09am Megan:

  Thu. 7/23/09 3:11am Megan:

Plus the kind of love where I want to start a country with you guys.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:12am Megan:

And Dave could be the mayor of New New York.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:13am Spencer:

Well, we have two kinds of love... that's enough to build a country upon, I think.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:14am Spencer:

Wait! Actually... that's THREE kinds of love... counting the one that's given us the impetus to start a country. This will definitely work.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:15am Megan:

I've already started talking about starting a county. I was going to name it Germania, but it needs a new name.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:17am Spencer:

How cool would it be to give a country a name that was like... a sentence long. Like that Fiona Apple album.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:19am Megan:

That One Country That Was Started By Those People Who Listened To That One Radio Show. TOCTWSBTPWLTTORS.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:20am Megan:

It could have a weird pronunciation.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:22am Spencer:

I like it... it's overly-long and hardly specific. And the acronym looks like a Welsh place name.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:22am Megan:

'Night People', but it'd be spelled TOCTWSBTPWLTTORS. In capitals.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:23am Spencer:

Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNN3Cpnur1k
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:23am Megan:

Unless I can think of a way to pronounce that.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:26am Megan:

That's crazy. I wouldn't be able to remember anything like that.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:26am Spencer:

  Thu. 7/23/09 3:29am Megan:

Okay I just wrote it down.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:29am Joshua K:

The moon to earth is a direct line of site. Easier to broadcast without trees, mountains, houses, curvature of earth in the way.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:30am Megan:

You're wonderful.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:31am Joshua K:

By the time I post they are already on a new subject.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:32am Joshua K:

"And don't forget one in the command module" Hah
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:33am Indiana Jordan:

See you at Thanksgiving!
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:33am Spencer:

D'aw shucks. But it is our nation that is truly wonderful! I call myself a patriot.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:34am Spencer:

I saw In the Shadow of the Moon the other day... it's a documentary on the Apollo missions. Required viewing for anyone who's even remotely interested in space exploration. Really great candid interviews with a lot of the astronauts.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:41am Joshua K:

I watched that, but I think I will watch it again.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:43am Spencer:

The footage was so incredible. I'm so glad that whole endeavor was so well documented from all angles.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:45am Joshua K:

imagine how creepy the moon footage would be if they never made it back safely
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:46am Spencer:

You mean if they weren't even able to leave the surface? Ugh...
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:46am Megan:

I'm going to get back to the party now, I'll listen to the archive later today. Bye guys! Thanks Spencer for the country name!
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:47am Spencer:

Nixon had a speech prepared for that possibility.
  Thu. 7/23/09 3:48am Spencer:

My pleasure. Have fun!
  Thu. 7/23/09 4:02am Eric:

"Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace."

(opening line of Nixon's unused speech)
  Thu. 7/23/09 4:13am Joshua K:

Pretty cool musics night people.
  Thu. 7/23/09 4:24am Pieter:

Good morning all
  Thu. 7/23/09 5:17am Toronto Jim:

If I knew someone for ten years, I'd behave just slightly more properly on my friend's radio show (instead of pretending that we were rolling a condenser-mic cassette-tape recording in the privacy of our own drug-addled drunkenness).
  Thu. 7/23/09 5:20am Toronto Jim:

Umm, please don't take calls if you have no intention of listening to the people on the line.
  Thu. 7/23/09 5:23am Toronto Jim:

These guys are way too "gobsmacked," "mate" to ever enter a "li-berry".

N.B.: the "Beatles-ish" impromptu "quips" in that ever-so-darling S. Yorkshire shite accent are groaningly sad. No brains here at all, it would seem...
  Thu. 7/23/09 5:29am Toronto Jim:

As I'm the only person in Christendom listening to this shit, may I say that what your guests think is clever and tuneful is, in real;ity, utter crap.
  Thu. 7/23/09 5:31am Toronto Jim:

How charming that shitty, grating Yorkshire accent is...

Back to Burnley and get a job, my lads...
  Thu. 7/23/09 5:33am Toronto Jim:

...'cause this lurvely little trip to Noo Jersey is all you're ever going to get outta your wee adventure 'cross the pond.
  Thu. 7/23/09 5:49am Indiana Jordan:

I don't blame Dave for hanging up on me. Nodding off on the phone, what a terrible guest! But at least I almost made it to the end. Good night! Or morning. You know.
  Thu. 7/23/09 1:20pm Toronto Jim 2.0:

I'm sorry I'm so negative , I'm going to work on that. God Save the Queen!
  Thu. 7/23/09 4:35pm Kendall:

I want to play! (in the going to the moon on a horse game). (listening later cuz I went to sleep early).
Sun. 7/26/09 1:25pm Brandon from PA:

I just listened to the podcast, fantastic show! I laughed out loud! Thank you!
  Tue. 7/28/09 3:42pm 88 Keys:

I love this show i listen to it at work and it makes me crap up. You guys remind me of Sifl & Ollie!!
  Tue. 7/28/09 3:42pm 88 Keys:

crap up = crack up
