How come I can't access the playlist from the main page? I had to be clever to find it.

Link the playlist if you want people to comment...
Unless that's part of a moon landing conspiracy you're making....
Thu. 7/23/09 2:23am
From:
Spencer
Hmm actually you CAN access it from the main page, if you scroll down. But it's not totally obvious. And at this time of the day, things like that need to be obvious.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:24am
From:
Spencer
I don't think the moon even exists! It's all a big conspiiirrrraaacccyyyy.

I just excused myself from a party for Night People. Now, I'm sitting alone in a bedroom listening to people talk.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:26am
From:
Megan
I like this better. I'm weird.

The moon was made of ribs and Harry Caray ate it with a Budwiser.

I stopped playing Nintendo to listen to Night People.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:28am
From:
Spencer
Megan, did you think of putting on Night People AT the party?
Thu. 7/23/09 2:30am
From:
Megan
Nope, but they'd probably get bored after 5 minutes and put music back on.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:31am
From:
Spencer
Probably not a very good party then.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:32am

My mom made me throw away my maggots on Saturday.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:32am
From:
Spencer
So how are the maggots doing?
Thu. 7/23/09 2:33am
From:
Spencer
You anticipated my question! Amazing!
Thu. 7/23/09 2:34am
From:
Spencer
(also, that's very sad)
Thu. 7/23/09 2:35am
From:
Megan
I hope some of them turned into flies and flew away before the trash went out.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:38am
From:
Megan
Other sad stuff: my friend's half eaten jawbreaker grew mold and now she can't eat it.

hello playlist
Thu. 7/23/09 2:40am
From:
Spencer
Well it takes a week and a half for maggots to become flies... so, do the math... or don't... it might be too painful.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:40am
From:
Spencer
Hey Josh.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:42am
From:
Spencer
I didn't know jawbreakers got moldy.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:43am
From:
Megan
Neither did I.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:45am
From:
Spencer
They do develop that thin, white layer of sugar crust when you let them sit out though...
Thu. 7/23/09 2:45am
From:
Megan
It must have been wet, but jawbreakers dry fast.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:46am
From:
Spencer
This is great radio.
Thu. 7/23/09 2:48am
From:

Oh my gosh, guys... I went into the archive to see if I could find Allie's misquote and I just clicked on a random point on the timeline and HIT IT DEAD ON. Swear to Gord! It's right around the 1:51 mark. And she did reverse the quote.

I heard the other day that Nasa's going to put a man on the moon again in 2020 and by 2025 there will be a moon base that astronauts will be able to stay at for 6 months at a time!
Thu. 7/23/09 3:07am
From:
Spencer
What kind of love are you talking about, Megan? The kind of love that makes a girl leave a party to listen to a late night radio show? Or more like the kind of love that a girl has for her pet maggots?
Thu. 7/23/09 3:08am
From:
Megan
I'm thinking..
Thu. 7/23/09 3:09am
From:
Megan
Both.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:11am
From:
Megan
Plus the kind of love where I want to start a country with you guys.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:12am
From:
Megan
And Dave could be the mayor of New New York.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:13am
From:
Spencer
Well, we have two kinds of love... that's enough to build a country upon, I think.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:14am
From:
Spencer
Wait! Actually... that's THREE kinds of love... counting the one that's given us the impetus to start a country. This will definitely work.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:15am
From:
Megan
I've already started talking about starting a county. I was going to name it Germania, but it needs a new name.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:17am
From:
Spencer
How cool would it be to give a country a name that was like... a sentence long. Like that Fiona Apple album.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:19am
From:
Megan
That One Country That Was Started By Those People Who Listened To That One Radio Show. TOCTWSBTPWLTTORS.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:20am
From:
Megan
It could have a weird pronunciation.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:22am
From:
Spencer
I like it... it's overly-long and hardly specific. And the acronym looks like a Welsh place name.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:22am
From:
Megan
'Night People', but it'd be spelled TOCTWSBTPWLTTORS. In capitals.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:23am
From:
Spencer
Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNN3Cpnur1k
Thu. 7/23/09 3:23am
From:
Megan
Unless I can think of a way to pronounce that.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:26am
From:
Megan
That's crazy. I wouldn't be able to remember anything like that.

The moon to earth is a direct line of site. Easier to broadcast without trees, mountains, houses, curvature of earth in the way.

I saw In the Shadow of the Moon the other day... it's a documentary on the Apollo missions. Required viewing for anyone who's even remotely interested in space exploration. Really great candid interviews with a lot of the astronauts.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:41am
From:
Joshua K
I watched that, but I think I will watch it again.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:43am
From:

The footage was so incredible. I'm so glad that whole endeavor was so well documented from all angles.
Thu. 7/23/09 3:45am
From:
Joshua K
imagine how creepy the moon footage would be if they never made it back safely
Thu. 7/23/09 3:46am
From:

You mean if they weren't even able to leave the surface? Ugh...
Thu. 7/23/09 3:46am
From:

I'm going to get back to the party now, I'll listen to the archive later today. Bye guys! Thanks Spencer for the country name!

If I knew someone for ten years, I'd behave just slightly more properly on my friend's radio show (instead of pretending that we were rolling a condenser-mic cassette-tape recording in the privacy of our own drug-addled drunkenness).
Thu. 7/23/09 5:20am
From:
Toronto Jim
Umm, please don't take calls if you have no intention of listening to the people on the line.
Thu. 7/23/09 5:23am
From:
Toronto Jim
These guys are way too "gobsmacked," "mate" to ever enter a "li-berry".
N.B.: the "Beatles-ish" impromptu "quips" in that ever-so-darling S. Yorkshire shite accent are groaningly sad. No brains here at all, it would seem...
Thu. 7/23/09 5:29am
From:

As I'm the only person in Christendom listening to this shit, may I say that what your guests think is clever and tuneful is, in real;ity, utter crap.
Thu. 7/23/09 5:31am
From:
Toronto Jim
How charming that shitty, grating Yorkshire accent is...
Back to Burnley and get a job, my lads...

I don't blame Dave for hanging up on me. Nodding off on the phone, what a terrible guest! But at least I almost made it to the end. Good night! Or morning. You know.
