I dig Blaze Foley. He is the subject of Lucinda Williams's great tune "Drunken Angel," on CAR WHEELS ON A GRAVEL ROAD. Foley was indeed shot accidentally whilst trying to break up a bar fight.

Yes, I came to the same (skipping) conclusion, but it was the weirdest CD skip I've ever heard. And right in the middle of the tenor solo. I thought for a while it was some fingering effect. Nope, just the zeros and one getting confused.
