Thu. 6/25/09 12:12pm From: Cecile

Robin, a frog, nearly had me weeping into my espresso...

Thu. 6/25/09 12:13pm From: paul from Sheffield UK

Robin, nephew of Kermit, wasn't it?

Thu. 6/25/09 12:15pm From: Scott

Hi Everyone! Glad you all loved that Nisei thing as much as I did!
Paul, you are of course correct. And cousin to Genesis P-Orridge too, I'd say

Thu. 6/25/09 12:15pm From: Cecile

that is right!

I am, too, Scott.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:16pm From: Kermit P-Frog

Yeah, a lot of the muppets got into TOPY back in the day.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:18pm From: Cecile

For some reason, I see snuffaluffagus folloiwng Hawkwind around by caravan myself...

Thu. 6/25/09 12:19pm From: Carmichael

Hi Scott. Like this Orcutt stuff.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:19pm From: Samuel Beckett

Lights up.
A frog sitting on the stairs, halfway up, halfway down...

Thu. 6/25/09 12:21pm From: paul from Sheffield UK

Blimey, Hawkwind! I would have loved to have seen the Muppets band doing Master of the Universe or even Orgone Accumulator. That really would have made rock history !!

Thu. 6/25/09 12:22pm From: Carmichael

That cool band with Animal drumming could do Silver Machine really well, I bet! Or Caravan's Nine Feet Underground.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:24pm From: BSI

I could swear Animal was drumming when I saw Hawkwind at the Wetlands circa '89... or was it the stuff I found in the bathroom? What?

Thu. 6/25/09 12:26pm From: holland oats

sky - bwahaha! who did that interview, warhol?

Thu. 6/25/09 12:27pm From: paul from Sheffield UK

Stoned people say the things that are closest to their heart. It's rather charming, I think.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:29pm From: Gov. Sanford

Stone in love people, too...

Thu. 6/25/09 12:34pm From: paul from Sheffield UK

Eno. Now we're talking. His first two albums are terrific. And after Roxy Music dropped him, Roxy Music was half the band it was.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:34pm From: Ike

Eno Eno Eno! Oh yeah.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:37pm From: doug from dc

My vinyl copy of Before and After Science is now thirty years old. I bought it the week after WGTB went off the air.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:41pm From: Ike

Oh wow, WGTB. That was before my time, but I remember wondering why D.C. non-comm radio sucked (and continues to suck) so hard, then reading all about WGTB's fate and being outraged. The original WJHU, and undoubtedly many other college stations, met a similar fate.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:43pm From: cd morf guod

Thu. 6/25/09 12:44pm From: stingy d

Thu. 6/25/09 12:45pm From: BSI

"......why can't anybody heeeeeaaarr meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....????"

Thu. 6/25/09 12:45pm From: paul from Sheffield UK

That was certainly a ghostly ballroom, I will say that.

Thu. 6/25/09 12:45pm From: doug from dc

Someone told me about this recently:
Recorded programming from WGTB, mostly in the 1970's can be heard Wednesdays on internet-radio station, WGAY found at (wgay.fm)

Thu. 6/25/09 12:52pm From: listener bryan

I can't believe I missed the Muppet song! That's what I get for tuning in late.

Any more Muppets up your sleeve?

Thu. 6/25/09 1:07pm From: BSI

Speaking of PTV, this Blues Control thingie is quite the PAGAN DAY vibe, innit?

Thu. 6/25/09 1:08pm From: J-Mar

just tuned in myself and am very bummed that I missed "Hot Child in the City" backwards.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:10pm From: paul from Sheffield UK

It's riffing like Hawkwind, yet it has a kind of bellydance rhythm going. It can get catchy.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:13pm From: BSI

agreed Paul:
somewhere between HW and Prince Rama...

Thu. 6/25/09 1:19pm From: Man in the Macintosh

<-------- Don't you believe a word he says.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:20pm From: dc pat

Thu. 6/25/09 1:24pm From: paul from Sheffield UK

How about Pet Clarke's Don't Sleep in the Subway? I like to think of myself as a man without any great weakness. But that song always makes me break up. Terrific songwriting.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:25pm From: ?

Clark not Clarke

Thu. 6/25/09 1:25pm From: BSI

Stingy: If that were the case, they'd be making crop circles by now... must be some other explanation.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:32pm From: randy in NC

Someone on FMU played a human beat box version of this the other day

Thu. 6/25/09 1:33pm From: randy in NC

Thu. 6/25/09 1:34pm From: Scott

Hi randy - I bet that was Dokaka, pretty fun stuff.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:35pm From: dc pat

Can't Seem to Make You Mine.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:36pm From: randy in nc

Scott, yes

Thu. 6/25/09 1:41pm From: Bad Ronald

Hey Scott, any chance you could pepper in an Entwistle solo tune today to commemorate the anniversary of his passing. Maybe something off of "Rigor Mortis Sets In"?

Just a thought...

Thu. 6/25/09 1:43pm From: gumby

Some people think of the word bombastic as bad. But this Broughton Band tune is a Delicious Bombast if ever there was one.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:51pm From: Rob

That's boombastic.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:53pm From: gumby

I concur Ron.

Thu. 6/25/09 1:53pm From: dc pat

thanks Scott...*sniff*

Thu. 6/25/09 1:56pm From: dc pat

Thu. 6/25/09 2:13pm From: still b/p

Thu. 6/25/09 2:23pm From: Tim Serpas

Kolchak!

Thu. 6/25/09 2:23pm From: dc pat

isn't he saying "BUTTERFINGER!"

Thu. 6/25/09 2:27pm From: paul from Sheffield UK

The 'not a finger' refrain could become the new fashion item for all contemporary music. It starts here.

Thu. 6/25/09 2:30pm From: dc pat

Thu. 6/25/09 2:31pm From: paul from Sheffield UK
