Playlist for Irene Trudel - June 15, 2009

Mondays 3pm - 6pm on WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

Music floating on calmer seas is "netted" by my ears and released to the hungry listeners. It's a stringy catch, but frequently live and always delectable.

Hi Irene - Boy am I happy to hear you again. Just got back from an internet free holiday in France. Lovely walks, wine and Frenchey-ness but no WFMU. Great to be back listening to the best station in the world.

Hey there Irene! You're playing my tune! :-) Nice one. The trio are in town now and playing Joe's Pub tomorrow night. Should be awesome!
Fantastic radio show - am totally hooked and looking forward to Gutbucket. Sue x

Hey Irene.

What are you talking over?

Mon. 6/15/09 4:25pm From: Irene

Hi Sue! Glad you got to listen in! I just had listener Sean Gostage in visiting from the UK so my attention was a little divided. Wish I could go see Neil Cowey tomorrow. I already have plans. Hope you're doing well!

Bryan, in response to your comment about Theo Bleckmann & Kneebody-- yes, the whole thing is great! Some tunes a bit more uptempo but all really great.

This band is fucking great.

Brilliant show Irene. Gutbucket are fantastic reminds me of the music I was totally into when I was a student (Back Door/Faust/Beefheart) Yikes! Do they have any plans to come to the UK?

Mon. 6/15/09 4:48pm From: Greg

Request for gutbucket: any (or all!) of "snarling wrath of angry gods", "O.J. Bin Laden" or "Underbidder".

Mon. 6/15/09 4:53pm From: Irene

Gutbucket does a lot of travelling through Europe but I don't know what their current travel plans are. Check their myspace page for the most recent dates: http://www.myspace.com/gutbucket

Sorry Greg! We recorded this set last week. Maybe they'll play it at Celebrate Brooklyn.

Just popping in to say that the bandname "Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments" made me giggle.

That is all.
